  1. Re: How do you become a Jedi I beleive you are incorrect PieMan. The Jedi are a group that reconizes that their are orthers that can use the force (the sith, people who do not make the cut to enter the temple). They never called the first sith anything but sith and desiribe him as skilled in the ways of the force. Vader promoted Luke, "you are a Jedi now", reconizing that he not only used the force but also followed thier beliefs, traditiions and teachings. Lord Ghee

  4. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From our Fantasy Hero game last year. While in a tunnel complex the party decided to make camp and set watches for the night. wizard I need to sleep through the night so that I can cast my spells with out being sleepy. william (merschant played by me) Yeah I like the mage to get some sleep. Since I do not want to hear ooga booga oops from him. and one of our players playing an elf named Brook engages a dragon using dodge and orther MA is doing very well. player when ask how that is happeing states. Crouching Brook Hidden Dragon Our Princess states : It would take a lot for me to order the death of this man (she has a code vs killing) Gm to me soto voice as we are wacthing this interaction from rooms edge: It's just an ego roll really:wink: she knows it. (reafirming williams belief that Noble just kill each other.) Haji the evil player charater druid that has vowed to kill william has suffured a intel drain curse. this has casued negatives to many rolls in the game. Haji to mage "what is worng with me" Blackjack with out missing a beat " There are just so many answers for that" william hearing of the curse (who is living far away from said durid) "Well that is not a problem for Haji". 5. Re: Military medals here is anther award The Sgt is the face of the army really, he was chosen to be the new action figure, how cool is that. http://www4.army.mil/ocpa/read.php?story_id_key=6305 Lord Ghee
  6. The Jedi way Episode 1.2 Hello all. I am starting the second of my Star Wars games again. In the course of the first game it came up what makes a Padawan a Jedi. It seems that the council is the body that grants or confirms titles in the order. (note in my star wars universe the title of knight is a title of the Galactic Republic that is law enforcement with judge powers. The Trials are mention as the way to become a Jedi. In my game the trials are not a set of test that you can take as an exam but a set of circumstances that have been over came that show the maturity of a Jedi. Anikin displays his lack of knowledge and maturity when he asks to be tested. The trial of Strength and the trial of Courage are the only two mentioned. I am trying to expand the trials to 5. The trial of Sprit and the trial of knowledge are two that I came up with. So thoughts on what they mean and any ideals please. Lord Ghee

  14. Re: Long Range Archery 100" = 200m x 5 = 1000m yea right:) Lord Ghee since a bow is a real weapon and it has real disadvantages such as in braveheart when the Scots crawled under their little Shields and use them as a wall to hide under. reining up is a doge We have used bows in our reenactments and have a not fine memory as me and a teammate where pressing an enemy i step to his shield side and he stepped back which allow the arrow fired by my teammate on his sword side to hit me! I stood there looking incredulous (arrow at my feat chest stinging ) and the archer just shrugged.

  18. Re: Help: WWI Espionage References Tuesday I am going to a mil libary I will look it up, there is a book on the German ring that was headed by a vetanarian who became the head army vet and personally inspected every horse sent to overseas. thease where givien anthrax and all horses where mix in the herd in france (he claimed this casued a million horse deaths) he also headed the dock ring that put bombs on ships in the coal (claim of 25% of all sinkings). this group later got blamed for the largest dock acciendent which one hundred ammo train cars on the dock went BOOM . went back to germany after the war and wrote a book Lord Ghee

  20. Re: Fantasy Travel Question Just for comment, when the Spanish lead by Coronado travel up through New Mexico and across Oklahoma and Texas the Indians where not living on the Plains (the Lokoda lived in Ohio in the woods for example). The Tribes lived along the rivers (red river, north and south Canadian), the great plains where empty for there was not a way to make a living. luckily the Spanish brought Horses and the rest is History. Lord Ghee
  21. Re: Fantasy Travel Question speaking for the Great plains Indians (not really family history is that my 4th removed Great grandfather married an Indian when he was with the army in Arkansans) They rode horses, the west is big. So you would not find any data on foot travel. The plains Indians as in the greatest light Cavalry in the world (sounds better than the local stone age guys kick our . . . ) so mounted movement would be found. hum need to look up undaunted courage for the Lewis and Clark expedition for there movement rates. Now I will look up some references on Movement, humm where are my books on Custer. Now out east when Rebbecca Boone was captured and her pa pursued the war party both groups covered 100 miles in about 4 days. They travel on foot. Lord Ghee El Paso TX were Wyatt Eurp got off the train for he was to interview as Sheriff and saw a shooting and two stabbings in 30 minutes and got back on the train to go to tombstone . (truth).

  24. Re: Fantasy Travel Question Cool find 10,000 march rates and hoplite pay ect http://www.tulane.edu/~august/H310/handouts/Military_d.htm just found it still exploring it Ghee
  25. Re: Fantasy Travel Question Most infantry movement is base on a 6 hour march day, 5 miles an hour is a good clip (not a great) over flat ground. there are many example of troops on roads making 50 miles in one long day. (Jackson's troops in the sharpberg campain) the trick is keeping fed and water. families in coverd wagons over trails in 1840's going to Oregeon mad 10 miles an hour with animals. Some day's where ten hours some less. A hard pace is 8 miles an hour- good ground roads ect. Eco racers over marked trails and with maps make 10 plus an hour. More on this
