  2. Re: Artillery!!! This is a quick answer. Ballistas can range from the size of a large crossbow to 2 ton monsters like the one on ebay. (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=152467) right after the roman empire the Byzantines developed a giant bow that did the job of the ballista but was easier to produce and keep it had a bow of 8 feet and a draw of 6 and shot large bolts. The same is true with each of these weapons the trebuchet could be a 12 ft arm powered by 4 men pulling ropes to a 40 foot arm that threw a 300 pound stone. Early they are bigger and get smaller every 50 years or so. In use they usually recoil their length or about. So an early one that is an 18 lb. One day to fire straighten the arrows. bundle the arrows and allow to dry 1 to 6 months (1 month in desert heat to 6 months in European north climes). one day to peel off bark and fire staighen again. (lath will help hear?) one day to trim to length and add arrow heads (need saw and arrow heads) one day to fletch shafts (need glue and thread and feathers) If one has a lab then you can do eighty arrows a month your self what is intresting 6 people working together will only put out 480 a month with a 6 day week. A player in my game shot off his load of arrows in an encounter. this follows player: " I make more arrow tonight" Gm: " what?, you do not have any blanks" player:"that OK I have the bower skill and I go out and cut up some trees and make arrows" Gm: " that like weeks and the wood needs to be season and (realizing that game time was not the time) never mind' Player ' I need season wood. OK I can cut up a staff and GM: "we will worry about it later" So what dose it take to make an arrow and a bow spell out in steps and time The player will argue with me so help Lord Ghee

  8. Re: One shot Game Ideas Here in El Paso Tx our group did a one shot recently. 50 pt (25 25), set in Nowhere Kanas (near Jericho) we are town folk. Doctor, nurse police officer and detective, farmer and ex marine who is the crop duster, drug dealer, newspaperman. come to find out there was a very addictive durg introduced to town that creates Zombies! Fun had by all. in the past we run one shot western, horror and Marital arts. Good luck

  23. Was there a Ballet company in New York city in the 1930's. Was this a big deal like the OPera and how much did a ballet dancer make a the time. the New York Ballet was founded in 1933 but did not get going until the 40's. Lord Ghee
