  1. Not the least of which is Lady Pariah, for whom I employ all manner of physical and chemical arachnacidal techniques. When I told her today's story, her response was, and I quote, "That's awesome."
  2. I got to kill a spider in class today, because it was freaking out some of my students. So I killed it with style--big, exaggerated stomp that resonated through the classroom, followed by checking the underside of my boot and saying, "Yeah, he's dead." It was a moderate spectacle.
  3. Who knows anything when they're five years old?
  4. Did anyone laugh at any part of that movie?

  8. Q - What are the folks at OPEC hoping we'll always have? A - Not that kind of gas, I'm afraid.

  15. Oddly enough, a week-long out-of-state vacation with two young children is not nearly as relaxing as one might expect.
  16. Q - Why is Ryan Seacrest's biography one of the shortest books ever written? A - I wasn't aware there was a 'North America Minor'.
  17. Q - Planning a BIG movie weekend, are we? A - Dense as lead, but not as useful.
  18. 1. "Feels Like Heaven" by Peter Cetera and Chaka Khan - Lady Pariah and I danced to this at our wedding reception. 2. "To Catch a Thief" by Wetton Downes featuring Anneke van Giersbergen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDG7qpei2JQ 3. "All the Light I Need" by Mike + the Mechanics

  20. New Topic: Songs featuring Numbers (either in the title or in the song, or both)
  21. This song is from the members that were left behind when the original lineup of Asia reunited. They now perform under the name "Asia featuring John Payne". This song is from an album that was supposed to be released last year. Asia featuring John Payne: "Seasons Will Change" As an aside, the keyboardist is Erik Norlander, who is also a member of another band I like, Rocket Scientists.
  22. Can't wait to pick up the new album. Probably not until the next paycheck, sadly. Asia: "Valkyrie" (from the new album Gravitas)
  23. Is there some kind of a scale we could use for that?
  24. The film is a three-and-a-half hour epic on the life of Whitcomb L. Judson, the inventor of the zipper. New Topic: Bizarre and/or unusual documentaries you would actually watch.
