You mean to say poor writing happened in a CW show?

Personally, I object to Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, not (just) because he appears to have problems controlling his urges (lust, drinking, anger) and not (just) because his decisions show support for an agenda farther to the Right that I'm really comfortable with.

I object to Justice Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court because when given a chance to state unequivocally that all Americans are equal under the law, up to and including the President, he couldn't do it. This, and this alone, tells me that he has no place on the highest court in the land.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

I thought you could only put limitations on 5 pt. skill levels. Or did that change? Or am I remembering wrong?

It was a rule in 5th.  In 6th, I think they removed it, but I don't know for sure.

I don’t think I would allow the focus on the skills at all - that all wraps into the idea of self only.  Neither is the skill hurt if the focus is lost as the need to conceal it is also lost.  The character would have no need to conceal a focus he is not in possession of and so losing a bonus for that concealment does not limit him.  Therefore no limitation.

I did not remember either-so I looked at the rulebook :-).   In 6th there are no 5 point levels and the rules say that the GM ‘may’ put Restrictions on what kind of levels can be limited.

You realize that you run the risk of some writer trying to stay true to their origin story of going up in a private rocket only to have a studio exec make them rewrite Reed as Elon Musk if you set it in the current time, right?

What do we have to do to make you happy!?!? You're so fussy, i mean . . . j/k.

What would make me happy is any take on the team that wasn't complete crap.

Actually, reality is starting to look like the Marvel Universe.

A Valkyrie's sword has been discovered.

Elon Musk could, potentially, lose control of SpaceX, leading to him making a desperate private flight, along with his musician partner, a professional astronaut and a random hanger own/family member.

Bavaria is engaging in Mad Science. No doubt there is someone in armour and an iron mask behind it.

All we need are breakthroughs in military exoskeleton technology, shrinking, and a Big Green Monster.

I think you guys are picturing them zooming around NYC superheroing. Not really necessary. Mole Man? Lives underground. Negative Zone? Literally another dimension. They could introduce the Savage Land via a FF franchise. Again, not in the public's eye. The FF adventuring and exploring isn't a radical change. They directly trace their lineage to Jules Verne type adventures and pulp Sci Fi adventures. There's nothing at all radical about having them be mostly out of the public eye.

And if they were in the public eye? So what? Why would someone comment on a group of supers who were around 50 years ago in the context of any of the other MCU material? When would that have naturally come up in conversation in any Marvel movie to date? I think Fury has commented on a rise in the number of powered people, but he never said the current crop is the first crop of same.

I don't see a problem: Frame them as scientists, adventurers and explorers, not superheroes. No reason for them to ever really be in the public eye much. Certainly as easy as fitting in Pym's original Ant Man.

I can see your point about Kavanaugh's reaction. But what was striking to me, and what may have made an impact on the viewing public, was the contrast between his demeanor and Ford's. While Ford was clearly very emotional (understandably), she was coherent, articulate, and answered every question clearly and forthrightly. While Kavanaugh's responses to questions were rambling, evasive, accusatory, and repetitive. Remember that this person with that thought process is in consideration to be entrusted with assessing the most serious legal issues facing the United States for many years to come.

Most worrisome to me was Kavanaugh's opening statement, in which he literally blamed an alliance of Democrats and "leftists" for conspiring to smear his good name. That's the kind of conspiracy-theory rhetoric we get a lot from arch-conservatives in America today, which makes me wonder what degree of bias he'll actually bring with him to the bench, particularly toward any future legislation which may be crafted by those same Democrats he blames for his current woes.

IMO, the Fantastic Four reboot should be set in the late 50's/early 60's, with a focus on the weird science adventure aspects, including the Mole Man, the Negative Zone, some of Marvel's tried and true giant monsters and mad inventors. Just an all out pulp adventure series.

The whole franchise could be called "Stuff Cap Slept Through." Just give it its own continuity. It could also make for a world that Doom fits into, though introducing him later rather than sooner. Start him up as a friend or rival and build him up into an adversary over several movies, setting up an ideological clash that comes to a head a few movies in. Doom deserves more setup than Reed IMO.

If you get pulled over on a routine traffic stop and the police officer asks you if he can search your vehicle, do you let him?

I don't think it's an indicator of guilt if you don't volunteer to be investigated. Nobody in their right mind wants to be investigated.

That said, I think we have plenty of other indicators of guilt or at least bad character here, and if the people deciding this had any integrity, they'd have already tossed Kavanaugh out.
