  1. Asian woman walking in Manhattan bashed with hammer by stranger demanding victim remove mask https://news.yahoo.com/asian-woman-walking-manhattan-bashed-155100002.html
  2. To the best of my knowledge, there's been no in-universe explanation. And there was no explanation on the CW's preview show which interviewed the actors, showrunners, etc. The showrunners could very well have given interviews to the press which gave an explanation. I tend not to hear those kinds of interviews.
  3. My niece had non-symptomatic COVID last year so she wasn't very high on the list to get vaccinated. But she recently managed to get her first shot of the Pfizer vaccine. And now I found out she and her significant other have COVID. She's got a relatively mild case. He had a more serious case and had to go to the emergency room at one point. But they both seem to have gotten as bad as they're going to get and are slowly getting better now. They live in southeastern Wisconsin so I suppose they have one of the variants that have been running wild in that part of the country.
  4. Are we absolutely sure that Al Davis isn't still running their drafts???
  5. After drafting their RB at 35, they ended up getting their offensive lineman at 98 and LB at 105 on Day 2 anyway. And good value at both spots in the draft. I think Denver could credibly argue that lesser LB's and offensive linemen were taken off the board earlier. OT Walker Little for the Jags at #45 OT Jackson Carmen for the Bengals at #46 OG Aaron Banks for SF at #48 OT Samuel Cosmi for Washington at 51 LB Pete Werner for Saints at 60 OT Jaylen Mayfield for Falcons at 68 OT Brady Christenson for Panthers at 70 LB Malcolm Koonce for Raiders at 79 OG Wyatt Davis for Vikings at 86 LB Monty Rice for Titans at 92 OT Spencer Brown to Bills at 93 OG Ben Cleveland to Ravens at 94 LB Ernest Jones to Rams at 103 I don't think Denver could have gotten as impactful of a RB at 98 but they probably managed to get an offensive lineman and a LB and a RB who will each make an impact this year. They might not have drafted like I would have. But they seemed to have done a fine job at the end of the day. And better than previous drafts.
  6. More Raiders fun Malcolm Koonce DE and Divine Deablo S both in the 3rd round when either of them would still have been available in the 4th or perhaps 5th round. I guess it matched their 1st round pick who probably would have been available in the middle of the 2nd round, so there is that. 😝 I guess that's OK if you plan to make your money by switching cities every few years rather than playing football though....
  7. Well, with Disney perpetually on the brink of bankruptcy, I can see how they might not feel like they have the money to pay the royalties on the properties they own. But you'd think they could scrape up a few pennies to give to those obscenely wealthy authors.
  8. I remembered the A, the K and L (not in the right order), but not the N or Y. My younger self would be ashamed.
  9. I don't even remember the name of my favorite dinosaur anymore. Apparently having people ask you about it is key to remembering it. You know, like the names of your kids. It's the low-slung armored herbivore which has a tail with a large rocky knob at the end that it uses to whack the carnivores. (That's my favorite dinosaur, not my kids.)
  10. I feel like that's the main reason the Cowboys took a linebacker with their first pick. (Hey, we looked through so many linebackers...that gives me a great idea! Let's draft a linebacker!)
  11. Yeah, I'm a huge believer in using high picks to take cornerbacks. But Denver just traded to pick up two new cornerbacks in the last couple of months. So it looks damned odd, even to me, to draft a CB when a franchise quarterback that you need drops to you. Or when you could have picked almost any other position instead and have substantially improved the team.
  12. We probably spend too much time on Rudy Giuliani but he gave a really bizarre interview on Tucker Carlson's show about the FBI raid in which he claimed the search was illegal and unconstitutional because: “the only way you can get a search warrant is if you can show that there is some evidence that the person is going to destroy the evidence. Or is going to run away with the evidence. Well, I’ve had it for two years and I haven’t destroyed it.” https://www.mediaite.com/tv/rudy-giuliani-gives-bizarro-interview-about-raid-on-his-home-they-also-got-it-from-the-icloud/ (Rudy Giuliani is a former US Attorney in the Southern District of New York)
  13. The Denver Post has up three articles just savaging the Surtain pick. I mean, they aren't wrong. But I have to feel sorry for Surtain, who is an excellent player, being cast as the magic beans that the team actually got instead of what they were supposed to get.
  14. He wants to be traded. The mind boggles at what he'd be worth in a fair trade. The question is whether he'll attempt to force a trade by threatening to retire rather than play. If that's the case, it's less likely to be a fair trade and GB will just be forced to accept getting something rather than nothing.

  16. Yeah, I don't understand that one at all. Most of the time the ball is being fielded and thrown from behind the runner. How the heck is he supposed to see that when he's running on the baseline like he's supposed to be...much less interfere with it? Is he supposed to run down the baseline backwards then duck anytime someone throws the ball to first base?
  17. To give some credit to Erik Erikson, he used to be a conservative. (Honestly, I have no idea what he is now.) If you went back to 2014 and described a Trumper, Erikson would have told you in no uncertain terms that the described person was not conservative. So the most gracious reading of this is that Erikson is correctly pointing out that people like Tucker Carlson are Trumpers rather than conservatives.
  18. Honestly the Jags could use any kind of hype that they can get. If it takes flirting with the idea of bringing back Tebow, good for them in the hype department. I have no idea why they'd think that TE would be a good fit for him. AFAIK, he hasn't played TE since high school. As for is size, he's 6' 3" and weighs 245. In contrast, Jason Witten was 6' 6" and his playing weight was 263. But then he wouldn't be competing with Jason Witten for the job. The Jags depth chart (in order) shows he'd be competing with Tyler Eifert is 6' 5" and 250. Chris Manhertz is 6' 6" and 255 Tyler Davis is 6' 4" and 243 Ben Ellefson is 6' 3" and 249 James O'Shaughnessy is 6' 4" and 245
  19. Tim Tebow attempting NFL comeback with the Jaguars...as a TE. No kidding. The Jags head coach was Tebow's head coach in college. https://nypost.com/2021/04/29/tim-tebow-attempting-stunning-nfl-comeback-as-tight-end/
  20. I attribute my lack of being able to see space shuttle launches these nights to the frosted windows we had installed in the bathroom.
  21. Former Trump attorney claimed he roamed the halls of the White House yesterday, couldn’t find Biden but did find Trump working in the Oval Office...which proves that Trump is still secretly the president. https://www.dailydot.com/debug/lin-wood-trump-oval-office-biden/
  22. Maybe they could get a 6th round pick in exchange for lock. "The circle is now complete." - Head Coach Vader
