  1. Build a machine which will allow you to peer into an alternate timeline. Your test will be there.
  2. Usually a franchise will wargame out various scenarios based on who is left on the board. Then they delay making their pick on draft day to see if some other team comes up with a better offer than the players who are still on the board. I wouldn't be shocked if Denver has a great QB fall into their lap without having to do anything special. But Denver has so many problems, I wouldn't be shocked if they tried to do something weird like trade down and try to stock up on draft picks. I think I could do better than most franchises by reading a fantasy draft magazine then trying to pick "Jimmy Johnson" style. Back when he was a head coach, I'd read through a draft magazine then tick off around twenty players as "JJ would love to draft this guy". Then at the end of the draft, he'd have picked seven players off of my list. And that's without following college football or doing anything other than reading a single draft magazine.
  3. I think I read a companion piece about how double amputees are complaining about this latest discriminatory act by Amazon. If the ACLU gets involved, there could be a lawsuit.
  4. https://www.reuters.com/technology/amazon-let-whole-foods-shoppers-pay-with-swipe-their-palm-2021-04-21/ Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) said it is rolling out biometric technology at its Whole Foods stores around Seattle starting on Wednesday, letting shoppers pay for items with a scan of their palm. The move shows how Amazon is bringing some of the technology already in use at its namesake brick-and-mortar Go and Books stores to the grocery chain it acquired in 2017. The system, called Amazon One, also lets customers who are minors bring in their parent's hands so their palm print may be used for payment.
  5. Why don't they premier new movies on the Starship Enterprise? In space, no one can hear you screen.
  6. Epilepsy is such a weird disease. Who knows but what his first real hit in practice is going to aggravate something? The real question to me is whether if he slides a couple of picks if some other team is going to step up and offer Detroit, Denver, etc. some kind of deal to move up and try to snag Fields. Yeah, passing on Fields might look stupid in a couple of years if he turns out to be a superstar. But if you get some other team's 1st pick in this year's draft plus some other stuff, it might start to look appealing. What would any of you have to get in trade for your first round pick in that situation and not feel like your team has gotten ripped off?
  7. < singing > Danger Scarf Danger Scarf He really makes you Wanna barf Can he swing On a scarf Only when he wants To make you larf Hey there! There goes Danger Scarf!
  8. I like 5th because it's the kind of uniform you'd get if you listened to the troops as you designed it.

  10. Real considerations for any teams beyond putting a quality team on the field are 1) size and intensity of the fan base - Arkansas has a very intense fan base as does Texas. But Texas's fan base is huge in comparison. There's a lot of Texas graduates scattered across the country because they graduate more students than most university systems. 2) wealth of fan base 3) whether the fan base travels with the team 4) merchandising ==== Any team selected will find recruiting easier and putting good players on the field easier. And they'll have more money for facilities and coaching staff. So a real question for me isn't whether the school can put a great team on the field but rather which of the bubble teams can do the most with the financial opportunity if they're given it? The purpose of the league would be to suck up as much of the "college football entertainment" pool of money as possible. The teams which get the invite will be teams with the best financials at the moment plus the best financial growth potential. ==== I really like Pariah's list for the most part. I'm not familiar enough with Stanford's fan base, marketing, and support to guess at whether their organization is ready to go to the "big leagues". I don't think Oklahoma State has the fan base to take advantage of the opportunity and really rake in money for the league, regardless of how awesome their organization might be in making the transition as financially successful as humanly possible.
  11. I haven't yet watched the reading of the verdict. I'd imagine the defense team advised him to not express any emotion, regardless of the outcome. The public is going to read what they want into any reaction. And any strong reaction which provokes the public might work against him in appeals and/or the upcoming civil case.
  12. Mix Magnum P.I. with a Mariachi band. That way you have Magnum Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye....
  13. I want the Cylon sound as the red "eye" moves back and forth. That way my intelligent Cylon model car can do battle with all the KITT model intelligent cars.
  14. Considering djinn, fairy godmothers, and fairy godfathers, I'm at a loss to think of anything that fairy tale magic couldn't do.
  15. Pro tip: Don't try FTL travel until you learn Navigation.
  16. I enjoy doing this kind of work. But unfortunately I can no longer do it for long periods of time and can't do it just anytime I please. Now it's more like "I need a good night's sleep first, nothing stressfully happening otherwise, and the stars have to align properly." On the other hand, finally got my RV sold and gone this morning after messing with trying to sell it for 1.5 years.
  17. I'd guess the joke was either too subtle or too juvenile....
  18. Umm...are you completely sure what you got was a vaccination?
  19. Ack! You're a voodoo priest! Begone foul spirit lest I rattle my cloves of garlic at thee!
  20. Sorry I'm last to the editing party. I'll throw some stuff out there, keep what you want. PDF page 4 says there's 4 primary characteristics but mentions only three (STR, DEX, and CON). Later is says "the next six determine how you attack or otherwise act" but lists only five. Under powers and abilities, the last sentence says "that's covered in other areas" you might consider adding the phrase "of the tutorial". "Moving on Up" would be less confusing if it were just entitled "Movement" since "moving up" is slang for "leveling up". Page 6 "keener your bean": bean is very old fashioned slang and slightly British. Kids might pick it up in context but I'd use "mind". Page 7 "attacking someone ends your phase" omit the word "someone" in order to avoid confusion. You don't want players blasting the scenery repeatedly while thinking his phase hasn't ended because he hasn't attacked someone. "Putting two and two together I work out here that you can half move, and attack": awkward phrasing, omit "I work out here that". "So if your character can move as much as 20m total, then they can choose instead to move 10m and then attack." "There are other bits bout phases and actions": Meaning "about"? You're inconsistent with the stylized italicized headings with some having a space between it and the following paragraph and some other headings not having the space. "not a bloody minded action character." : "bloody-minded" "Since this is a comic book setting, these cops" : "these particular cops" Page 9 The cowl section refers to Avenger as "him" while the Glide section refers to Avenger as "them". Pick one or the other rather than both. Page 10 Dr. Nope : his toxic punch says 4d6 PD melee damage but the attack really ignores PD. Is there a better way to list that attack on the character sheet? Got to take a break, finished looking through page 13.
  21. Avenger female misspelled Okinawa. You might also consider changing the wording of the first sentence so that it says "who wears" rather than "that wears".
  22. They either think they can pull it off...or they think that a credible threat of doing it will strengthen their negotiating positions with the various leagues FAR more than it will damage their own clubs.
