  1. What do people think of the Shadow weave magic in the latest incarnation of Forgotten Realms? Mike
  2. I plan to start running a Fantasy Hero for a local gaming club. To attract new players from D&D, I'm going to use Forgotten Realms as my game world. For the record, I like Forgottem Realms, but I think it has gotten to high powered/munkin over the years. What suggestions do you have to de-munkin the Forgotten Realms. Here is what I have so far: 1. 80% less drow , and no drow player characters. 2. Eleminster should be de-powered and not common NPC. 3. No gods walking around. Any other ideas? Mike
  3. The only stat in Hero I feel in unneeded is COM. I usually remove it and replace it with a beauty talnet or grusome appearance disadvantage. Mike
  4. Remove or lighten Is there a quick way in photoshop to remove one color. I would like to remove ot lighten the black in the the TE map. Just too much for my printer. Mike
  5. I do have CU and CKC, I just thinking about new players who may not have a complete Hero collection. Mike
  6. I like your idea of the small description paragraph to help find villians to fit, if you don't use CU villians. My reason for bring up this point with CB is that adventures are a hard sell, so it probably needs to be more self-contained than other type supplements. Mike
  7. I purchased Champions Battleground this week, and I'm most impressed with the product (especially the maps, way to go Keith). I think CB is the best-written adventure I have seen for any system in a long time. I do think DOJ made one big mistake. Not including the stats for all the villains in the book is a bad idea. I think some people will not pick this great book since they will need both Champions Universe and CKC to have the needed information on the different villains. I think WoTC still includes stats for all the monster in an adventure, even if they are already listed in the Monster Manual. I think making a free download of the villains (just the stats. no background info) in CB would be a good idea (sort of a villains sampler pack). If that is not financially feasible, make it Hero Plus PDF and sell it for a reasonable price. I understand this may be not be really feasible, but I think it is a good idea. Mike
  8. Re: Re: Re: Answers & Questions Q: The ammount of beef McDonald's uses per year? A: 42
  9. That is a hard one since HSB covers so much. Here is what I can come up with. 1. Mythological or Legendary creatures fro,m Mid-East and Far East literature. Djinn and Ono come to mind, but there are a ton you could do. Chinesse Dragons would be cool 2. Monsters of the epics. Grendel and Midgard "The World Serpent" . 3. With any Humanoid creature you write up, you may want to include the Racial Package Deal for that creature. 4. Armies: Maybe mass combat writes for common fantasy units/armies. 5. Undead: a. Revenauts - undead that hunt down their killers. b. Charon/Grim Reaper/Death's Hand - Undead that collect the souls of the recently dead for the afterlife. c. Lich - Undead Nercomancer. You may want to make spells for making undead and bring the dead back to life in this section, if that is not already in the Grimoire. Have more later, Mike
  10. While I agree putting "Saving Throws" on all spells would make a FH magic system a bad D&D clone, "Saving Throws" on certain spells can be a nice effect. Maybe spells that are so unnatural, that ALL creature have a certain ammount of resistance to those spells and get a chance to "Save". Mike
  11. Could just buy it as a limitation on the spell. -1/2 (Target takes only half damage if he/she makes a CON roll) Mike
  12. Any chance of releasing a map set for the Turakian Age (after The Turakian Age has been released, of course)? I would be willing to pay $15 - $20 for a good map set. Mike
  13. That would be great. Mike
  14. Sorry, those are still being playtested. Mike
  15. There is one now: http://www.herogames.com/FreeStuff/writeups/FHMagicSystem.pdf Let me know what you think. Mike
  16. Re: FH Form link problem I think the proper link is http://www.herogames.com/FreeStuff/writeups/FH%20MassCombat.pdf Mike
  17. I think The Turakian Age will make or break Fantasy Hero with non-Hero Gamer. Fantasy Hero has always lack a well done world setting, and without that it is hard for new GMs/players to get into the game. Mike
  18. I remember once back in college we were playing Champions in the campus student union. I was running my regular group of 5 players, and had two new people show up that heard about the group. One of the new people seemed twitchy. About a hour into the game, we were in combat and the twitchty guy was stunned for a phase by an attack. The guy started yelling saying there was no way he could be stunned. I showed I had a rolled 4 to hit and near max damage. The guy did not say anything, so I assumed he was not going to agrue any more. I started running the combat again, when one of friends yelled "Look Out!!!". A swiss army (big one) flew past my head (missed by a foot), blade out, and stuck in the wall behind me. The twitchy guy and his friend were close to the door and bolted as fast as they could. We did not call the police, since we only had their first names, and figured the only thing that would happen would that the RPG club would get banned from campus. I never did see that guy again, but I did keep the knife. Mike
  19. I need someone that is having problems with the Fantasy Hero forms to e-mail. I have a new version and I want to see if this does not have the format errors. E-Mail: dbasinge@speakeasy.net Thanks, Mike
  20. I will re-do the form with Acrobat 4.0 settings and see if that help. Mike
  21. Getting Mozilla and Acrobat reader to play nice under Linux can be a pain. What distro you using? Mike
  22. It just Bill Gates just making your life interesting . Probably the new printer has a different Postscript driver. I did build the PDF for Acrobat 5.0, since I assumed most had upgraded to that now. If anyone else is using Acrobat 4.0 and are having problem, let me know. I can re-build the PDF for Acrobat 4. Mike
  23. Re: Quick edit note... What OS and version of Acrobat (or other PDF reader) are you using? I'm not having that problem. Mike
  24. I know that a few UK store get Hero stuff fairly quick (for overseas), some times quicker than I get them in Salt Lake City . Mike ps: Welcome to the board StationX
