  1. In 2005+, when you are ready to update the Champions Universe I have a couple of suggestions. I really like the sidebar notes in USPD, and I think a book design around this idea would be a great idea. Call it something like UNTIL Meta-Human Field Guide, and include in it. 1. Updated version of the Champions (with +50-100 points of experience). 2. Updated timeline. 3. In the villian section, have some revised villians (For Experience, also some villian change powers alot in the comics book), and add new villians if you have any good ideas. I also would also like to see some Field notes similar to USPD in this section. 4. If you have not published Stronghold, that would be a good idea. Mike
  2. The Hero Resource Kit has a couple maps like this, including the classic Main & Vine map (a treasure for members of the OFCL). Mike
  3. Re: Grazi I pretty much came up with that off the top of my head, although I have thought about revamping the orginal Zodiac group (just to get some good use out of the color art in the book). Mike
  4. Taurus: I would go pure brick. Maybe with some leadership and lots of brick power ala USPD. Gemini: A multiform of a brick (Strong Twin) and a mentalist (smart twin) (or maybe a mage). Maybe make it so they can't control which multiform is active. Cancer: Brick, lots of Defense and grappling attacks. Give him an hunted by Moonchild (the new zodiac sign that some replace Cancer with, because the name Cancer was to offensive). Leo: Dex guy with some HKA. Have him be able to talk and command animals. Virgo: Detect Lies (Detect Innoence), other Mental powers and healing. Libra: A techie and gadgeteer, with lots of criminology skills. Scorpio: Major Martial Artist ex-assassin. Sagittarius: Ultimate range combat person, lots of weapon skills, plus improvsived weapons (ala Bulleye from Marvel Comics). Capricorn: Alien whose homeworld is in the constellation Capricorn. Absorb stellar energies. Energy blaster with some Cosmic Powers(ala USPD). Aquarius: Body of water, and other water powers. Brother to Pisces. Pisces: Queen of the sea. Swimming, strength and controls fishes. Sister to Aquarius. Aries: Projection blast of pure kinetic (physical) energy. Likes making battering rams of his kinetic energy. Mike
  5. GOO got the rights for "Song of Fire and Ice"? If they use a version of the Tri-Start system you may be able to convert using Reality Storm when it comes out. Mike
  6. SJG have done these books for GURPS and they have been pretty hit or miss. I want to see DOJ get out the spellbook and a decent worldbook for Fantasy Hero before into very specific sourcebooks. Mike
  7. You need to be a subscriber to Digital Hero. Mike
  8. Holy Crap... 709 pages of playtesting goodness . Thanks, Steve
  9. I don't think it will be hard to use FH to emulate console RPG. For example, if you wanted to do Final Fantasy VIII, the magic system would be based on a VPP with a limitation you can only cast spell you have absorbed from your enemies. Also you would have to have some focus based summons to emulate the avatars. Mike
  10. 300,001 Derek, Go for 300,001 word in yor manauscript:). Mike
  11. I think sourcebooks that features heros only is a bad idea, but a team book would work. Look how popular Strike Force and To Serve and Protect are. I think Strike Force is one of the most collectable Hero books. My suggestions would be: - A international super team similar to GURPS I.S.T. (Gurps Supers was bad, but I.S.T. was a nice sourcebook. Maybe could be a series covering the Champions Universe in different parts of the world (maybe we will finally see Champions "Far East" sourcebook). - A team book in the vein of JLA or The Avengers. I would make this a higher power level book, and maybe outside the current CU. Although Reality Storm covers is very similar to this. - Pay Aaron Alliston to re-do Strike Force for FREd. I know is it a pipe dream, but so was 5th edition for many years . - Also, when Galactic Champions comes out I hope to see a Legion tribute group in it. Mike
  12. FYI, The download link for version 1.0.2 does not work. Mike
  13. GoO made have different have rules for playtesting, may allow it only in house. Mike
  14. Are you planning to start that playtest for Fantasy Hero soon? I can't wait to playtest/math check that bad boy. Mike
  15. LoSH is great. Scene: Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy interviewing new candiates. Mon-El: I have all of Superboys powers, but I'm affected by lead and not Kyptonite. Lightning Boy: Ouch! Mon-El: Don't worry I have an antidote for it. Cosmic Boy: Cool, your in. Next! Bouncing Boy: I invented a serum that allow me to expanded to a ball shape and bounce. Saturn Girl telepathically to Cosmic Boy and Lightning Lad: Maybe the kid that could eat anything was not so bad. Long Live the Legion. Mike
  16. Maybe you should plan to sell it as a combo with Reality Storm at GenCon. Give the SAS players tons of information to work with. Mike
  17. Great idea, you should take the best submissions and make a e-book out of it next year. Mike
  18. I'm running a Champions game at CONduit in Salt Lake City this weekend. My hard drive crashed a couple of monthes ago and I lost the my set of pre-made characters I use at cons. Would people be willing to send me any characters you think a Champions newbie could play? I'm looking for for a basic brick, EP, Martial Artist, and Egoist especially. I know I could use the Champions group, but I have other plans for them (BWHAHAHA!!!). I can accept files in most formats including Hero Designer. Many Thanks In Advance, Mike
  19. Any chance of getting the Millennium City map on MC p.23 as a downloadable PDF or jpg? I was wanting a copy I could edit and hand out to new players. I would of course you the old jedi mind trick (8d6 Mind Control) to make them buy a copy of the book . Mike
  20. Re: Grond with envy!!!! I'm shocked. It seemed the Georgia distributors did a decent job getting Hero stuff quickly. Mike
  21. hmmmm... new game hmmmm... steak Homer
  22. A PBeM is a hard animal to run than you think. The hard part is find a group of people who are decent storytellers. I have played in a couple PBeM that run for over 2+ years (a long time for a PBeM ), and here are the hints I have ween from it. Small Group: I suggest when starting a PBeM have a small group, no more than four people. It is hard keeping track of all that e-mail. Reserves: People get burned out on PBeM fast. A good idea is too have one or two people who get all the turns, but are not active in the camapign. When someone drops out (and someone will) one of the reservist can move up to the active campaign. Don't sweat the rolls: A PBeM is all about storytelling and dice rolls should be secondary. The easiest way to do rolls is to have the player submit what they roll, but players will be tempted to fudge the rolls. A couple other other ways to do rolls are. GM makes rolls: The GM makes all rolls. Some players don't like this, since they do not get to make the rolls for their character. Random Chart: With random chart, a player submits a roll and it get converted to a different number on the GM chart. Make for more paperwork, but keeps things random. Dice roller Program or Server: Some programs and web server can make random dices rolls and then e-mail the results to both the GM and player. Ivory Games server use to do this but is no longer on the web. Character Hints No Loners: The brooding loner hero (Wolverine, Punisher, Batman, heck even Nighthawk of the Champions) do not work as well in a PBeM. The also includes all character with major anti-social tendenices. If the player really plays up the loner part, then it really slows down a campaign. No Weird Character: Any character who is weird just for the sake of being weird (Creeper and Ambush Bug from DC comics) will be twice as distracting in a PBeM. Just my suggestions. When can I submit a character Mike
  23. Re: down with Profantasy! There is a free CC2 viewer/printer app. It does not seem bloated. Mike
