  1. Re: Super-sorcery Necromancer Ideas... Help! Necromancy was one of the few things that Rifts did well. They had some good ideas I'll admit, then they kinda beat them to death with a rock, it's a shame really. They did have some truly nasty necromancers though.

  4. Re: If You Had To Play a Marvel Character… If all those corporations are using thier resources to keep Wizard's tech off the market, then how is he going to get the wealth to hire these mercenaries? Even if he did make some money off of it, the oil companies and car companies that desperately want to maintain the status quo are still likely to have more cash then he does. Not only that but they're likely to have most of the useful contacts as well. Not saying it's flat out impossible but it's a pretty enormous obstacle to overcome, large enough perhaps to make any other option look pretty darn good.

  6. Re: If You Had To Play a Marvel Character… And that every mass transit company in the world would likely try to make sure the tech didn't come to the mass market, since they'd stand to lose billiions. Revolutionising the transit business sounds nice, untill you realise that there are quite a few companies out there who would probably be quite happy with the way things are now.
  7. Re: Taipan...wow! If he wasn't like that, the entire superhero community would be grass and he'd be a lawnmower!
  8. Re: If You Had To Play a Marvel Character… Also, he was one of those X-Men who were a LOT more interesting when his origin was still mysterious. Then they tied his origin in with Sinister and Apocalypse and that whole X-Ternal bit and it just got really really bad.
  9. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... Didn't mean for my reply to sound rude Doctor Agenda, if it did my apologies.
  10. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... Jay Garrick, the original golden age Flash, got his powers due to an accident involving heavy water. He's never to my knowledge been near the River Styx and I know for a fact that it didn't figure into his origin.
  11. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... But if you're using acid then you're not drowning him are you? No you are in fact dousing him with acid, which is something entirely different, as his body would dissolve in the acid before he even got a chance to drown.
  12. Re: Jimmy Olsen's Watch It was a simple matter of who needed it more. Perry White was often in the habit of pairing up his best reporters, Clark and Lois, for starters so whenever Lois wasn't tailing Clark trying to prove he was Superman they were working together. Thus, most of the time Lois got in trouble Superman was on the scene anyway. This wasn't the case for Jimmy. As a freelance photographer, Jimmy could be assigned to any story any where. Thus he wasn't as easy for Clark to keep an eye on as Lois was, thus Jimmy needed the signal watch more then Lois.
  13. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... But it can be controlled by Aquaman's water hand and used to free him.
  14. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... True. Perhaps the reason I'm down on the 'drown Aquaman' thing is simply because it ignores one of his primary abilities. He's an ocean dweller after all, he's lived in water all his life, trying to drown him just seems innately lame to me. Making him fear the water on the other hand, that plays on his weaknesses and is just plain mean, making it a much better plan.
  15. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... No that I belive was The General's plan, Log. Batman's plan was to use fear gas to make Aquaman afraid of the water.
  16. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... I dunno. Charybdis caused Aquaman's hand to be eaten off by pirahna, essentially turning Aquaman's powers against him as I understand the story but nobody's quaking in fear of him. They know what he did and how he did it [i think they do anyhow] but there's no quaking. Of course I like DC, so that could be why we disagree on this particular point?
  17. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... Err, I was going more for: just because you *CAN* kill a hero this way doesn't mean you should actually attempt it. I mean sure you offed the hero but what good does it do the villain if the method in which he achieved it causes derision. Beating up Superman makes you look badass, drowning Aquaman just causes people to ask "How the **** does Aquaman drown?" Perhaps this better illustrates what I mean: If you can kill the hero, always do it in an impressive manner that inspires fear when mentioned whenever possible. The reputation you gain from this can only help you.
  18. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... Alright, so it's a long shot. A one in a million shot. On the other hand it's not happened to anybody since the 1940's. It's now 2006. That's almost 60 years and one could argue that it's time for that longshot to hit. Sure the odds are against it, but are you really so sure that this won't be the time fate rolls a one on it's one million sided dice? Do you really want to take that chance when there are other ways to kill him? Besides, heavy water is still water, which means you have to restrain a full strength Aquaman long enough for him to drown. Much easier [and inspiring less snickering in your fellow villains] to roast him with a giant heat lamp or something.

  20. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... Sure that seems like a good idea on the surface, but even if it does work how do you know people won't consider you a joke simply because you tried to drown the guy who could breath water? Also, there's another thing to consider in your plan. How did Jay Garrick gain his superspeed? Two words. Heavy. Water.
  21. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... Nothing, repeat NOTHING kills your rep faster then trying to drown Aquaman.
  22. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) VC Andrews HERO. Where your heroes get used abused and treated like crud, and nine times out of ten can't do squat about it or get a happy ending.
  23. Re: Things I learned playing a Thief A wise thief once said: NEVER soil your own nest. Never rob near the place where you live.
  24. Re: How many points for the . . . (guards, minions, whatever)? Yeah couldn't be the fact that said troopers were ordered to let them escape, so they could be trailed back to the Rebel base.
