  1. Re: Comics that I miss. I remember ROM, I only ever had a few issues of it but they were some awesome stuff. I actually recall one issue where Galactus, lead by Terrax, tried to eat Galadorn. Terrax took on all the Spaceknights at once and two, who's names I forget, died during the fight. Anyway the Spaceknights manage to defeat Terrax in a hard fight while ROM goes up to Galactus' ship and destroys a memorial he had of planets that he'd eaten. ROM and Galactus face off and ROM manages to save Galadorn....by siccing Galactus on the Dire Wraith homeworld!
  2. Re: The Punisher vs Bugs Bunny True enough. Though it wasn't like Bugs knew he was interfering with the guy's practise. Moot point though.
  3. Re: Marvel's Best Martial Artists To the best of my knowledge, Karnak's powers aren't due to the Terrigen Mist like the rest of the Inhuman's are. I was always under the impression that he had the abilities he had because of intense martial arts training. His ability to find the weak spot in anything is simply insane amounts of Find Weakness.
  4. Re: Superheroic Weapons of Legend Actually in the stories I heard, the Aegis was made from the remains of Medusa after Perseus killed her. The head was mounted on the shield and gilded, as I recall.
  5. Re: The Punisher vs Bugs Bunny I think you've possibly gotten Bugs mixed up with somebody else? All the Bugs Bunny cartoons I've seen follow the formula of Bugs minding his own business, getting bullied or harrassed then Bugs saying his favourite line and then going after them.
  6. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist No, Batwoman has no post-Crisis existence. Kathy Kane on the other hand was still around to be killed by Bronze Tiger. She's one of those few characters who's actually stayed dead you see.
  7. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist My bad, it wasn't meant to be condescending at all. As for the story not happening Post Crisis, it's been stated that the story HAS happened post Crisis. It has been stated in books authorized by DC comics that the story did take place Post Crisis. Most of Batman's history made it in to the Post Crisis universe untouched.
  8. Re: The Punisher vs Bugs Bunny Ummm....no. Punisher has no code, at least not a strong one. He has been rather easily manipulated into going after pure heroes in the past and never seems to show a great deal of regret over it. Bugs only 'victimizes' people when they start stuff with him. They always have the option of backing off and it's always thier fault when they get clobbered after Bugs says "Of course you realise, this means war."
  9. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist I completely disagree of course. People like Shiva, Richard Dragon and Bronze Tiger have been dedicating thier entire lives to martial arts. If there's one thing they know it's how to take out an opponent in the most efficient manner possible. Batman may know martial arts but he's not dedicated to thier practise in the same fashion. Between his crimefighting, Wayne Industries and the pretense of a social life he's required to have as Bruce Wayne, he simply doesn't have the time. As for the fight with Bronze Tiger, Batman had arrived on the scene. The assassins went in to get Kathy Kane as Bronze Tiger went to hold off Batman. There was no surprise attack, Batman knew that Bronze Tiger was there and both sides were ready. Batman advances and Bronze Tiger gets a kick to the gut that knocks Batman out. Now given that Bronze Tiger has always been drawn as a rather buff fellow and his mastery of kung fu, it's not illogical that a shot to the solar plexus [which is a part of the body located around the stomach] could knock Batman out.
  10. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist Actually I'd say the Code vs Killing replaced a berserk or an enraged, given what I've read about Bronze Tiger's history. That's just a minor point though, otherwise I agree with you casualplayer.
  11. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist There's also whatever issues Ben was dealing with at the time to consider as well. When he fought Batman the first time Ben Turner was focussed and very on his game. If he was having some sort of mental issue during that particular fight, maybe the lack of focus threw off his game? He wouldn't be the first fighter who had a difficult fight because his mind wasn't 100% on the fight after all. For that matter, he might've just had an 'off day', which happens to everybody. Anyways, sounds to me like they were about even and Ben was perhaps getting an advantage when Superman stopped the fight.
  12. Re: Chronicles of Narnia Curufea is right about that. The witch and the Magician's Nephew were both there at the start of Narnia. Also, having the PCs come in during the White Witch's reign would diminish the importance of the Pevensies to the story in my opinion. HOWEVER, the PCs could easily come in during the reign of the Pevensies to deal with some sort of threat or another, summoned by Aslan to do so. In fact there was a short series of gamebooks [four or five as I recall] that were set in Narnia and used that very premise.
  13. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist Well for the most part, I agree with Proditor's top ten. Bronze Tiger is certainly not the most dangerous martial artist in DC but he's most definetly high up in the top ten. He's always seemed to rank just behind Richard Dragon and Shiva, from what I've read of him. Also, while it cannot be denied that Batman is a tough fighter, he's hardly the most consistent one. In one book he might be going toe to toe with badass martial artists in another he's having trouble with people who shouldn't be giving him a hard time at all, given what most canon sources say his fighting skills are.
  14. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist Guidebooks written with the authorization of DC Comics, by people who've actually done the research on the subject DO count Chuck. I said RELIABLE sources remember? As for the story itself, nobody was holding Batman down at all. He merely arrived to late to save her. Also, while she may no longer be Batwoman post Crisis it's still an acknowledged fact that she was killed by Bronze Tiger in that storyline. However as usual you'll ignore the facts and continue to blather on like the troll you are, so I'll talk with the intelligent people and leave you to your delusions.
  15. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist A good reason to belive it's not? You mean aside from every reliable source on the subject saying that it is in fact part of Post Crisis history? It happened people, deal with it. As for Batman dealing with a squad of SWAT team member without trouble. One could make the argument that any martial artist on this list could accomplish that feat, should they wish too. Several characters listed so far have taken out rooms of heavily armed people with ease, some of them packing weaponry far more advanced then that possessed by the Gotham Police Department.
  16. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist How is the guy who defeated Batman in one shot, on a lower level of martial arts then Batman himself? One kick to the gut from Bronze Tiger and Batman crumples. No extenuating circumstances involved, no distractions. Batman saw Bronze Tiger [at the time brainwashed to work for the League of Assassins] and was ready to fight him. He'd even taken a defensive position BUT WAS UNABLE TO BLOCK THE KICK. The story is still part of the Post Crisis universe people!
  17. Re: DC's Best Martial Artist I would rank Bronze Tiger higher then Batman as he defeated Batman once before, needing only one strike to do it. Not a cheap shot either as Bruce was clearly ready for the fight but Bronze Tiger simply moved to fast for Bruce to block. Also, this is still a part of Batman's history Post Crisis as I'm reasonably sure the only part of Batman's history that didn't survive Crisis was Silver St Cloud.
  18. Re: Professor X vs Hector Hammond
  19. Re: Professor X vs Hector Hammond Actually SuperSkrull, I don't think the Z'nox chamber was needed to forge the link itself. That was all Professor X. The Z'nox chamber was needed so the Z'nox couldn't suss out what he was doing and interfere. At least, that's my best understanding of the situation.
  20. Re: Professor X vs Hector Hammond
  21. Re: Professor X vs Hector Hammond Can Hector Hammand unite all the minds on Earth with just the power of his mind [as Charles did to thwart an invasion by, I think, the N'grai]? If the answer is no, then he can't take Charles in brain to brain combat.
  22. Re: Kong: the movie The scary thing is, if Denham could make a profit from it somehow he probably WOULD do that.
