zakueins
How would you model a horde of zombie hamsters? I'm tempted to throw them at some CHAMPIONS players, all singing the "Hamtaro" song.
Derek Hiemforth
Always gotta work backward from effect to cause in the HERO System. Whaddya want the zombie hamsters to do?
Snarf
They have to sing for starters. Probably so badly it will reduce superheroes to tears, if this is related to Hamtaro.
Derek Hiemforth
Okay, so far it sounds like either Change Environment (creating penalties to Hearing PER) or Darkness (blocking the Hearing Sense Group entirely), with the special effect that the horrible singing causes the victims to cover their own ears. caris
Doesn't the Hero System Bestiary have some write ups for swarms of creatures?
Beowulf
Some thoughts that come to mind: partial entangle as they swarm over you eb, reduced penetration, autofire Darkness Sense penalties KA, delayed effect (disease) Pre attack Or write up one of the little buggers and run combat with them as 300 seperate zombie hamsters

Vex
Hamsters 2 Comments: 1. Back in the 80's there was a comic book named Adolescent Black Belt Hamsters (I think), about four mutated hamsters. You could use them.....or.... 2. One of my friends game involved a huge space ship with a library filled with faeries. They had to chase a group of werewolves down and save the faeries, unfortunately they didn't really suceed. Apparently the curse of the werewolves kills faeries, but being faeries they couldn't handle it and would animate/resurrect any of their friends that died. Years later and a new campaign, the group came back to find the library filled with undead werewolf faeries. The fight lasted weeks and was one of the most memorable events in the campaign. Even funnier was in the next campaign, we found a crash landed starship and the old players didn't want to go it. They were terrified. BoneDaddy
You could build them as automatons - how many points are you looking to spend?
Bengal
I wrote up the (mostly) lame Batman vilain Ratcatcher last week or maybe the week before. I'll go dig him up and see what I wrote him up as. hamtaro time, laa laa laa okay, I tore up the sheet and trashed it, as I never, ever anticipated ever needing it. ever. for real. silly me. But, he had a running suppress, entangle (stops sight, smell, only affects the use of accessable Foci), small doses of NND (not vs armored boots), all AoE Selective, not vs opponents more than 1/2" above the ground, OAF Ratwhistle. If they're singing that "Hamtaro" song, then you definately have a massive Drain INT, with Incantations and extra time to recover. 2. If they're zombie hamsters, you'll want to throw them underhand. Overhand, and they'll just splat into moist piles of festering goo. That leave greasy stains. And don't sing anymore. It's sad, really, when that happens. zakueins
Annoy the heros to no end. It's a critical failure from a demon summoning. They will invoke the "awww, cute!" effect from women, small children, and Disney execs. And they Won't Leave The Players Alone. ghost-angel
singing the Hamtaro song? Isn't that a 20D6 PRE attack with effect "Heroes cower in fear and pain"? the mind reels at such a thing. and I thought my GM was an evil bastard. Oruncrest
Will they do the Hamster Dance while they're singing as well?
BoneDaddy
I would summon one zombie hamster with a boatload of duplicate zombie hamsters.
