Musings on Random Musings

Re: Musings on Random Musings

I saw someone dressed in costume on the bus ride home. He said he was a "superhero who lost his superpowers." Thing is, he didn't act like a superhero. He was loud and obnoxious with his pals who weren't in costume, but were just as loud and obnoxious (are superheroes allowed to drop the f-bomb?). And all that bragging about killing meth dealers didn't help. I don't think he understands what it actually means to be a superhero.

Just to be sure, I looked at the real-life superhero registry, but I couldn't find him. I guess he was just another crazy guy in the city. At least I have an interesting story to share with you folks.

What if God was one of us?

Just a slob like one of us?

Just a stranger on the bus

Trying to make his way home?

Re: Musings on Random Musings

There are days when I wish stupidity was painful. When someone says something stupid, you just want to slap them. You just want to hit them until they stop with the stupid. I just want to slap them until all the stupid gets knocked loose and falls out. Or maybe fit everyone with an electric collar that delivers a painful shock when they say (or type) something stupid. I don't think it would stop them from being stupid, but it might at least stop them from saying stupid things.

There should be some punishment for being stupid.

There is...we put them on TV.

It's...an imperfect solution.

One of the few payoffs of my job is that at times, in highly proscribed circumstances, punishing the stupid is among my for-pay duties.

Twice today' date=' entirely separate things (one of them on these forums) have made me think about whether things are as I'd be satisfied with if I got killed in the next 24 hours. I am not usually so morbid.[/quote']

I try not to think on that subject, mainly because I know the answer to the answer to that hypothetical is "No."

As far as I am concerned' date=' any pizza is bad pizza.[/quote']

On this, you and I are in complete agreement.

My Lady, however, loves pizza, and has high standard. She is not only ½ Italian, but lived in Manhattan for 13 years, so she loves herself some good pizza. To be fair to Log Man, she has never had the (dis)pleasure to have Hungry Howie's pizza, so it may very well be worse than Poppa Johns. But until she bites into something worse than Papa Johns, that stuff is at the bottom of the (pizza) barrel.

Re: Musings on Random Musings

I've overcome my pizza disdain for non-traditional (American Tradition) in recent years and no longer turn my nose up on pesto or whitesauce.

My bread an butter though is beef, onions, shrooms, roasted red peppers, garlic, and either sausage or pepperoni.

Re: Musings on Random Musings

I see nobody has mentioned Pizza Hut... And the local Domino's made me a good thin crust Supreme/Deluxe not long ago, so I'm not too hard on them. I am not a pizza snob, but I've never had a good pizza from Hungry Howie's. CiCi's pizza buffet is fair, and quite reasonably priced. It has been almost forever since I've tried Little Caesars -- last time was probably ~20 years ago.
