Re: Musings on Random Musings

Unusual to wake up to thunderstorms around here. I think Fluff Butt is still hiding behind the Dutch oven. By Cancer.

Fluff Butt ! What kind of name is that for a cat ? Funny !

"_________" Butt is something I do with animals. My wife had a Manx at the time we got together whom I called "Stumpy Butt". Fluff Butt's "real" name is Spike. But he was the only long-hair in the litter, and my hanging the Fluff Butt label happened rather before we decided we'd adopt him.

He hid behind the pots for an hour and a half or so, and then spent about two hours later in the day sleeping on my lap as I played Civ and MoM. While there, he did something I'd never seen before: he growled in his sleep. He made a few other motions at the same time, strongly suggesting he was having a combat dream.

The couple in question has a nice house out in the country. The goats are thought to replace the lawn mower' date=' I think, but I don't know how goats like grass.[/quote']

I think sheep are better if you actually want to have some grass left over, but you still have to make sure not to get too many sheep.

Goats will strip the land bare. They are good for controlling or getting rid of unwanted plants.

A friend of mine says that when she had an outbreak of poison ivy in the woods in her back yard, she paid a local farmer to bring some goats over to eat it. It seems that goats are not only immune to the effect of poison ivy, but that it is one of their favorite things to eat.

I and several co-workers got talking about weird foods we've eaten, when 1 woman turns to me and asks, "Have you ever eaten beaver?"

How do you answer that?

What made it funnier. A twenty something had no clue why the rest of us were laughing so hard.

I'd say: "No, but the spotted dick was divine".

#not true, never had spotted dic, I'm not english.

Re: Musings on Random Musings

This morning, my beloved, in a fit of sleepiness, accidentally cooked an entire pound of bacon, instead of the usual half-pound, to go with our breakfast. As I normally do in such "dire" circumstances, I made a quip along the lines of "I guess we'll just have to eat it all, then. That's OK... I'll take that bullet for you."

And the moment I said it, I realized that in light of the events in Aurora, where 4 men literally took a bullet to save their loved ones, that particular quip just isn't funny anymore.

Bacon makes everything better.
