Kraven Kor
I'm looking for a good, easy-to-use website where I can buy some spacecraft mini-figs. I might use some battlefield Gothic, but they don't have the look I'm going for. I want high-tech, streamlined looking ships. Any suggestions? Edsel
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... You might take a look at the miniatures on Reviresco's website. You'll have to select Science Fiction Starships from the category pull-down menu. I have never bought anything from them but there prices don't seem too bad. Supreme Serpent
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... Perhaps the Babylon 5 stuff would be more to your liking. http://www.thewarstore.net/babylon5acalltoarms.html If you don't mind cardstock Pulpy stuff, maybe Rocketmen would work for you. http://www.wizkidsgames.com/rocketmen/default.asp Or Cold Navy: http://www.thewarstore.net/coldnavystarships.html
Bismark
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... A few more manufacturers for you to check out: Ground Zero games (the Full Thrust people) (http://www.gzg.com) [bring on those 'Spikeys'! ) Brigade Models (http://www.brigademodels.co.uk) DLD productions (http://www.dldproductions.com) do some nice space stations, defsats, modular freighters and assorted warships Also, if you don't worry about the scale too much (which is not obvious on a lot of the models anyway), check out the Silent Death stuff from Iron Crown Enterprises (http://www.ironcrown.com). Hope this helps.
Guest Major Tom
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... Dream Pod 9's Jovian Chronicles spaceship minis are also worth taking a look at, but I have heard that you have be careful where the resin minis are concerned. Apparently, there have been instances where the resin minis have been warped to some extent, necessitating the very careful use of heat to try and straighten them out. Dauntless
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... For all things Space Game miniature related....here's your one stop portal: http://www.star-ranger.com/Home.htm From here, you can find tons of links to games as well as companies that make starship minis. I just found out from this site that Ground Zero Games (maker of the very nice Full Thrust line of minis and game) is having a one-week 20% off sale. Definitely worth a look (though they don't really have any curvy kind of space ships other than the organic Sa'Vasku ships....for curvy ships, I'd recommend the Cold Navy line)
L. Marcus
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... . . . I took one look at the Cold Navy ships - and my heart skipped a beat. That's how starships shouls look!
shadowcat1313
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... RAFM used to make ships for Traveller, some of which later were re-used as ships for Silent Death if you can find them the cardboard ships for Renegade Legion-Leviathan were kinda interesting I liked the smaller scale B5 wars ships vs the larger ones, I picked up the narn and centauri fleet packs for 7.50 each at a con recently even, so you may be able to find them at discount prices, you might check the titan games site the minatures for Full Thrust are really nice, and a lot cheaper than Battlefleet Gothic the new Babylon 5 rules for starship combat are a lot like a simple Battlefleet gothic in style, and work really well

That's how starships shouls look! Yeah, I just can't find any scale information on them. I'm not worried much about ship-to-ship scale or anything, I just want to know the actual size of the models. The Cold Navy ships also don't have many small / fighter craft it would seem? Thanks all, some excellent resources here!
L. Marcus
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... Somewhere I saw some pics of where some ships were compared to coins . . . Could be on the homepage. Nonetheless, I've saved the design pics for use as flavor for some DF campaign or other . . .

shadowcat1313
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... nah, for flying saucers, you have to go true cheesy, find somebody with some extra model car parts... 2 hubcaps butted together... that was actually done in Plan Nine from Outer Space, or a similar movie, you could see the wire it was suspended on, and with zoom capability, you can just read the buick logo

Thanks all, some excellent resources here! I highly recommend the Cold Navy stuff. I have the Terran and Kharadorn fleets and they're beautiful. And their website is Xtreme-hobby.com. They have the size of all the minis there. And if I can throw up a plug for a friend's store, try Exodus Road Hobbies and Minatures at exodus-road.com. Great people that take good care of customers. They have Cold Navy.
tkdguy
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... I wish I weren't so broke right now. I really want to buy a few of those miniatures, especially the Orion Class Cruiser. Edit: The heck with it. I went and bought a couple of Orion Cruisers (they're sold in sets of two) and an Avatar Class Cruiser.
tabascojunkie
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... Yeah, some of those Terran ships are big hunks of metal. And they're all one piece, unlike the Kharadorn. Some of them are up to 6 pieces.

Studio Bergstrom has a nice line of minatures http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Meteor/4155/thumbs/orderform.html Warning, the website is a bit garish, and the photos do not do the miniatures justice. They are high quality pewter and quite nice.

Curufea
Re: SpaceCraft Miniatures... Ah, Battlefleet Gothic - now there's a Beer & Pretzel game that should never have been published for miniatures. As usual for GWS - all style and no substance.
