Re: The Champion Protocols (ie how to take down your character)

no, and frankly I havent picked up a DC comic since they did it to Blue Beetle.

anyways, this is a great thread and it seems most of the people have gotten into the spirit of it.

It is hard for some to get away from number crunching in Hero.

Oh yeah, give Hyper-Man a complex number crunching puzzle like Sudoko and he might get transfixed for the few seconds it might take him to solve it.

Arac's vulnerable to standard pesticides: your average "bug bomb" in almost any room should kill him in minutes. Failing that, just send whatever hero's available after him. He's no good in combat and usually goes down on the first punch.

Not new to the boards, but this seems like an interesting necrothread.

Blackberry S. Firr: would nominally fall under the "scrapper" archetype, but is not truly a heavy duty fighter--and she is not all that interested in fighting in the first place.

She is very active in charity work, the easiest way to take her out of the picture would be the following:

A few days before the nefarious plot, a large, respectable organization asks her to speak--for the day--at a public event. In exchange, they will build, fund, and staff a community college.

The catch? She needs to be there for a day--she's a popular public draw, and while she isn't as famous as some heroes, she is very well liked and does not have controversial baggage.

The villain, of course, will enact his diabolical plan about halfway through the day--and the plan will NOT involve obvious threat to life and limb. Blackberry would agonize a bit over the choice, but ultimately helping people would likely win out over something like "stopping a robbery" (very broadly speaking) in her mind, and thus the villain would have essentially neutralized her for the entirety of his plot.

Shadow Hawk's defenses are invisibility and high dex. Area effects and explosions using non-sight based targeting would work best.

Stick doesn't talk about it, but he's vulnerable to Sonic attacks (flashes and damage causeing both). Hitting him is hard, so area effects and explosions work best.

Thunder Child is for a Teen Champions campaign. He's currently all offense. The problem isn't taking him down, it's not hurting him too badly.

Super Model is your standard flying brick, but has no Life Support or exotic defenses beyond her nigh-impenetrable skin. Flash-bangs, tear gas in an enclosed space, or any sort of mental attack should do the trick.

Earth Girl is an earth elemental who's made out of animated soil. Breaking her contact with the ground and surrounding her with man-made materials weakens most of her powers and makes her vulnerable. If someone has the wherewithal to get her off-planet entirely, she's completely helpless.

Kurzhaan the Conqueror is a werewolf with considerable skill at sorcery. He's essentially unkillable except by silver weapons, can take lots of punishment, and is almost impossible to take by surprise. However, he doesn't have much in the way of defenses while in human form unless he devotes his magic to creating them. Sonic attacks to soften him up, lots of bullets to take him down, and heavy sedation to keep him unconscious afterwards would be a good plan.

Chimera Her alien battlesuit renders her vulnerable to poisons and pesticides so hitting her with those is a straight forward vulnerability. More psychological attacks involve her family: the wealthy Belusconi family. Threaten to reveal her identity to them and she might make careless mistakes or venture into the "grey" areas to protect her freedom from a domineering father.

Jake Harker Jake is a low level super with phenomenal recuperative powers and not much else (two-fisted streetfighter). Frame him for a crime or set him up (Enraged makes it easy) and have the cops arrest him. As a felon, he will likely cool his heels for a while.

Fore-Eyes: If he went rogue then the one person who could stop him is the assassin Ambush (who is totally invisible to any form of precog/danger sense/etc, as are all his attacks). Once he's paid a simple sniper bullet to the brain. Note he would have to be paid for a clean kill, otherwise he is likely to 'play' with his target who, having been through this before, might use the opportunity to escape.

Hardball: Really not hard. Single sniper shot to the head. It's only people's inability to find him which has kept this from happening sooner.

Karma: If surprised fairly easy, very little actual armor. If aware (and she's pretty good at detecting traps) then catching her will be alot harder (invisible teleporter). Area effect (the larger the better) attacks will most likely hit her. Targeting based on other senses than sight or hearing will allow her to be targeted while invisible.
