hfergus
Ok, since Dancing With the Stars is back - HWYCDODWTS? (How would your character do on Dancing With the Stars?) Rules - No powers. Skills and stats are ok. (Prevents flying and stretching to "boost" abilities.)You can shape shift, but have to take one shape for the whole contest. Other ways of granting skills - probably banned. Rememer, DEX is not the be all on this show. Style, grace, chemistry and panace is what counts. Example with my characters. Volt - 62 years old, arthritic, hates to be in the limelight. Has rhythm, but... He would not be the first out with a 23 dex and putting effeort into it. Probably would be about 3rd gone unless the audience feels sorry for him, or votes because he is popular. At the halfway point he probably would ask to be voted off if he made it that far "To make way for the truly talented." Black Tiger - a martial artist, Very high dex. Would probably go about halfway. He would be technically proficient, but is somewhat of a cold fish. No chemistry, no panace. Olorin 23 dex and - would surprise everyone. He's quite a good dancer. He has passion, chemistry, panace, style, etc. Would almost certainly be in the final 3. Ballroom, latin dances, - he would wow them. Cha-cha, two step, other not so passionate - he would be a bit weak in those. He could win if the dances went to his strength, but not if they went to his weaknesses. Trebuchet
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Zl'f would do quite well. Her high agility (DEX 23 even out of Hero ID), inherent gracefulness, and Olympic-gymnast sense of timing would all translate to an excellent performance overall. Besides, her mother was a world-famous Russian ballerina and Zl'f has inherited much of her mother's innate talents. (Observers have compared even her fighting style with an elegant dance.) Just don't ask her to sing...
Amused
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Lauren would excel at wearing the costumes well and keeping an elegant feel of the dances. Something more lighthearted like the Quickstep, would be her weak dance. She's a big flirt, so the audience will either love her or hate. Vera is a swordsman, so understanding the footwork would be easy. However, being that up close with someone in the Rumba and Tango would make her uncomfortable. Though the Cha Cha would be her forte. She would work very hard to make every dance, perfect. She is a more private person, so the audience would be unable to connect with her as much. I suspect she would fall out of the competition quickly, unless the audience appreciated her effort. Gwendolyn is agile and bendable, so any of more athletic dances would be easy. However, she would probably forget steps. Also, she wouldn't understand/appreciate the intimacy of the Tango, so it would most likely end up looking like a brother and sister dancing together. I think she would get fairly far, just by winning over the audience with her upbeat nature and smiles.
Comic
Re: Dancing with the Heroes For the most part, they'd crash and burn, likely first out of the contest. Though.. one of them almost embodies the grace, style and nobility.. if his partner flatters him enough, he could make it a fair way through. lemming
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Scales, Hmm. 8'2" piece of scaly metal. Before his transformation, he was probably pretty good, now, not so good. Ice Pirate, showmanship, agility and grace, she'd give Z'lf a run for the money. Enforcer84
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Enforcer was vat bred for such things. He's an excellent dancer.
Badger
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Badger- wants no part of being a celebrity, definitely not going to happen, not even if the universe very existence is threatened. frosty Bob- probably not far, probably only in it to make the moves on his dance partner. Tech
Re: Dancing with the Heroes One of my heroines would very most likely win first place: a 29 Dex, a professional singer & dancer with over a dozen skills just in the music field, yeah, I think she'd win. Zed-F
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Soulbarb: In secret ID, would not be interested in competing. In Hero ID, would only win because all the other contestants would run away very fast. Sylph: Actually is a dancer, albeit not a professional one; she is taking university-level classes in Fine Arts and in time she could become a professional dancer, as she has the build and talent for it. This would show on stage, so with her grace, looks, pleasant demeanor, and actual dancing skill, she would do quite respectably. Her biggest weakness would be, being too modest and not sufficiently assertive. Revenant: Well he has the build and grace, but not the skill. VIPER doesn't offer much training in ballroom dancing. Karmakaze
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Sparkle is a dancer in her day job. Well, ok, a stripper. But she wouldn't have any trouble adapting to ballroom dance.
"V"
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Jack-a-Dandy is an excellent ballroom dancer, and wicked at Latin too. He'd have no trouble with the dancing, the performance or playing the crowd to get the votes. And, of course, he could flirt with the judges. lemming
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Scales would make an excellent judge though. Blazer would do better on American Idol though, though currently she's already past her popular period and doing film scores...
Amber Nytstar
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Diana Papillion (Luna Moth) would probably either win or be a close runner up. She doesn't have an extremely high DEX, but she has the style, grace, and panache to make up for it. After all, it's a requirement for her nighttime career. Ravenwing, on the other hand, would be one of the first ones voted off and the Flying Kittens wouldn't even get on the show.
Kevin Schultz
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Hm...none of my characters would do well at ALL, actually - other than Widower; and that's because he's likely the only one ever to have even watched the show, and he's got a 38 DEX. psychonaut_raz
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Icestar would do really well....she's training for the Olympics so she's definitely got the athleticism down pat, and has been ice-skating pretty much from as soon as she could stand on skates; this would be totally up her alley... OctoberRaven
Re: Dancing with the Heroes Mister Nonsense would do the chicken dance. First round elimination. Shift would only do this under EXTREME duress, and wouldn't last long either. Emerald Dragon might do well, he's got a 30 Dex and is very outgoing. October Raven has two left feet. Easily first round casualty.
