AdamLeisemann
When a new edition comes out, people buy it, and sometimes they try to port their old characters over, so this is a joking WWYCD based on the new edition coming out within a year. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Things seem perfectly normal, but then some strange things happen one day. Some abilities suddenly get weaker while some others suddenly get stronger. Some of your powers even stop existing, replaced with new powers that you have never heard of before. You even find out that you've forgotten some of your skills, which are now replaced by something new. The strange part is, this is happening to everyone on Earth. You investistigate and somehow find out that this is all because reality is being translated into a new edition, and that there were four editions prior to the reality you have once called home. What do you do?
Opal
Re: A New Edition Move on to another dimension and hope for something better. (Ironically, Opal, as of 4E was built with an uncontrolled multiform, when she goes to a radically different dimension, she can undergo just such changes.... For instance, when she wound up in a fantasy world where science doesn't work, she was transmogrified from a 'higher dimensional alien capable of absorbing energy' to the semi-divine 'Daughter of the Sun,' Topaz. Play a character long enough, it gets wierd.)

( not a Champions character. . . an *Aberrant* character. Which means the only 'new edition' to convert to is Aberrant d20 *shudders* )

hfergus
Re: A New Edition This reply is somewhat of a joke, since I think everything I would consider important should port over with little difficulty. The joke assumes problems. Volt - Would either be the same or retire from 'super heroing' with a sigh of relief. (originally 3rd edition ported twice with only changes being benefits) Olorin - Would either finally find his way home and be forced there, ending his adventures here (but starting them there) or finally get a wish spell to work, putting everything back to the way it was. (originally 4th edition, ported unchanged.) Black Tiger "Figures." Simple guy, he'd deal with it as best he can. (created 5th edition, almost identical to 3rd edition that required no changes to go to 4th, no significant changes would have been required to go to 5th.) Futurian "Oh great, now I'm stuck here with different abilities. I wonder if I'll ever get home." (orignally 4th edition, changed a lot because I re-did his powers. I think he is better now as a concept.)
Arac-4105
Re: A New Edition Arac-4105 would definitely try and calm folks down. He's been through this from 4th to 5th and nothing really changed for him.
