Suggestion to the company and Steve for a book.

The company is already doing The Book Of The Destroyer. A book dedicated to the machinations and operations of Dr. Destroyer. But another idea has come to me just in speaking to the people in the chatroom.

The second greatest threat in the Champions Universe setting isn't a dimensional conqueror. It isn't Gravitar. It's a classic team of supervillains that have been around since the early days of Hero Games.

Eurostar.

I think Eurostar is worthy of their own book. One that details exactly why they are the second biggest threat around. Describing their operations and machinations. What exactly, besides the physical force they command, that makes them the ever-present threat that they are.

Eurostar would be easy to expand into a book of their own. As villain teams go, they're one of the most powerful. But what would make them a real threat is all the stuff they could do away from the battlefield. A comprehensive look at their combat tactics, their long-term goals, and their supporting organization would be really cool.

As Fiacho stated in an earlier edition, "Eurostar doesn't rob banks. We wreck economies." I think it would be very interesting to see just how they do that.

As a GM, such a sourcebook would be priceless

As a player... Eeeek! shock.gif You want to give my GM tactical advice for the deadliest villian team EVER! Are you out of your mind!

It wouldn't be so much a case of your GM getting tactical advice on how to

use Eurostar, as it would be a case of your GM giving your character an op-

portunity to excel.

Why am I always the one who gets the chance to excell? Just once I'd like to have a nice, easy mission where the fate of the world isn't at stake.

Someone call the Avengers, or the JLA. Let's give them a chance to excell for once!;)

Tell me about it. In the campaign that I'm currently in, some as-yet unknown

time-manipulating villain (an evil version of Captain Chronos, if recent info can

be trusted) has supposedly altered the universe in such a way that most of

the major hero teams of the (5th Ed.) Champions Universe don't exist -- mean-

ing that the Champions don't exist. What makes things really bad is that there

are more villains than heroes (some of whom are from different universes; name-

ly, the DC and Marvel Universes), and some of them are downright nasty.

So far, my character's had run-ins with the Black Harlequin (his "Snakes in the

Oatmeal" plot was without a doubt one of the stranger ones yet) and Sinestro

(one of the rougher fights in the campaign to date), and those are just the

regular hero vs. villain fights. He also has to contend with a shipload of what,

for lack of a better term, are basically 'Klingon Rednecks' (they're not actually

Klingons; that's just how he refers to them) who are after Earth women to use

in some hideous alien ritual. On top of that, there's also a scheme by yet

another group of aliens to undermine the intelligence and military agencies of

the world in preparation for a takeover attempt.

And if that isn't enough, he's faced with the task of assembling a team of

heroes to respond to the various threats that the Earth of the altered uni-

verse is facing.

So, yeah, I see where you're coming from on the 'opportunity to excel' angle.

Eurostar has been the creme of Champions Universe villain teams since Fourth Edition. They're a diverse and complex group with a rich history even within Fifth Edition continuity. Their motives and m.o. are distinct from most villain teams, and being based in Europe they would provide an opportunity to explore European locations and issues for gaming potential, IMO a pleasant change from American-based campaigning (no offense to my fellow Champions fans to the south).

I agree that the premise is definitely worth considering.
