Well, that does explain why I couldn't locate Eco-Ranger in either photo. :)

Re: Heroes from All Fifty States

like I say, most of them were quite easy, like Centennial from Colorado looks just like Superman, so a Super-Boy heroclick goes just nicely.

The hardest ones were:

Kentucky Thorobred: had to sculpt mane & tail

Virginia Goddess: hot chick with roman helmet and spear: not a common miniature.

Missouri Catfish, how do you make a heroic looking Kuo-Tua ?

Alaska Wild-Catter, mish mash of various things.

Lousiana Red Stick, had to customize the look.

Nebraska Husker: had to make the weapon....

Anyways, when they come back from painting, I'll do "design notes".

For example, Eco Ranger was hacked together from

Ghost-Rider and Captain America pieces parts.

Thanks for the compliments. I'll keep posting on the things.

someday I'll run this properly at a convention.

I still have to make the wings for NC K.Hawk and Utah Bee...

Plus for some reason my painting guru balked and choked

at the idea of painting Mount Rushmore in miniature,

or the California Bear, or the State Seal of Indiana...

so I'll be making some decals of the complicated items.

Tell him if he thinks it's hard painting Mt. Rushmore on a miniature, he ought to try putting an image like that into an existing figure in MS Paint sometime.... :angst:

Of the various pics I've done, that one was far and away the hardest and most time-consuming.

re: time consuming pix:

that's the beauty of this whole project, so many people have put in quality stuff. It behooves me to

A) finish it.

B) also put in quality.

Re: Heroes from All Fifty States

Well done on the Catfish, especially the "Spit" multipowers. Very good build, especially because I couldn't build a Champions character to save my life. Best of all, though, was the quote from the Arkansas Traveller about the Catfish; I really liked that. Wonderful characterisation for both AT and BC -- and even the Chicago Chief!

There were two small things that struck me by their absence: 1] On the DF: Stinky, you left out what it is that BC stinks of -- which is, of course, fish...and 2] You left off BC's quote, which gives a little glimpse of his misanthropy (or maybe that's only towards Yankees).

As the creator of the Bagnell Catfish, I'd like to see both those "bits" slipped back in, if you could or would or don't otherwise mind. Oh, and I salute your past efforts -- and your continuing efforts! -- as the Father of the USA50 project, without which none of this would have happened/ be happening.

I love the Project. Thou rockest, Egyptoid.

Re: Heroes from All Fifty States

Oh yeah' date=' I almost forgot you Log Man. [b']CURSE YOU[/b]. CURSE YOU STRAIGHT TO SHEOL!

all the other 49 Heroes were easy enough to convert, since they resemble

some Marvel or DC character, and Heroclix are cheap these days.

snip and glue and most of these could be done up right in 5 minutes.

but not Kentucky.

Log-Man had to get all artsy fartsy and make this furry monstrosity.

To get the look right I had to sculpt the mohawk, and find a female speedster to begin with, and the hair and the tail. Crikey what a pain.

But despite Log-man's "vision" I triumphed.

the miniatures are in the hand of my paint master,

soon to be revealed....

Yes, I'll marry you! :D

Can't wait to see her. Your dedication to this project is amazing!

Re: Heroes from All Fifty States

Oh, and I see it says you live in Corvallis.

My condolences.

I did four years of hard time there. As an undergraduate. Still, it felt like one big prison. If you don't drink or do the fraternity scene, there's not a great deal to do.

It will be a cold, black day in hell before I return for some alumni "jubilee" meeting. I'll mail them a check and we'll be square, thank-you-very-much.

PS If you need help escaping I was thinking of starting an underground railroad to smuggle people out of the linn-benton county. Nobody should have to live like that!

That or I was thinking of starting a national civil rights movement, centered around the fact that living in Corvallis is Cruel and Unusual.

Been here in Corvallis 30 years myself :)

Re: Heroes from All Fifty States

current project is to find someone who wants to publish this as an

adventure module.

cause if the answer is yes, I edit it up for the book way,

and if the answer is no, I edit it all a different way for an online presence.

so we've plateaued for a bit, unless people want to submit ideas

for a ROGUE's GALLERY

Re: Heroes from All Fifty States

Maybe each state needs its own villain team. For Utah, it would include a giant, evil slab of green Jell-O, a sentient swarm of brine shrimp, and a transplanted Californian who can't understand why we have to build all these new roads and one day just goes postal.

I kid, of course.

Mostly.

some people's kids.....

Okay here's the flag of Arizona...

180px-Flag_of_Arizona.svg.png

Striking right ?

--------------------

now here's the champion of Arizona:

az-004091.jpg

now to me, that is a beautiful picture, quite the homage to the flag,

and evidence of more good work from Mr. Hermit.

-----------------------

so in my mailbox today I get some screed from someone I will not name,

( and they probably were from another venue than Hero) and they were

haranguing me on how I "should have used the AZ state flag in her costume"

& "should not modify things" and "if ever a flag deserved to be a hero costume its the beautiful AZ one" :nonp:

please note I've corrected the person's spelling and grammar errors in my quotes.

they were obviously hurried and angry while posting so they forgot to proofread,

but that's not the funny part.

is it just me or isnt this person way off track here?

anyways, this is only the second ever negative thing I've ever gotten as

regards the project, so I just want to reiterate: thanks to all

who watch and enjoy and contribute.
