csyphrett
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! This does not sound like a Western villain. Was this supposed to be with the Nostradamus team ? NOTE: I am updating the Create Hero/Villain thread. The Villains are almost done. He is the token non-human because he is a seven foot tall fairy. I am still keeping track of the heroes. csyphrett
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Cannon (rewritten) is a creature called a skinwalker that assumed the guise of a dead buffalo soldier. He wanders the southwest in search of the other two symbols that he needs. He uses his sword to call down phantom cannonballs on any opposition while using the one sign of power he possesses to channel magic in the land. He seems to draw from power from desolation and is said to have caused parts of the desert to form in New Mexico and Arizona, as well as wiping out cities of cliff dwellers. death tribble
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! 'My mother was a tailor sewed my new blue jeans My father was a Gambling Man down in New Orleans' Gambling Man He's a gambler and claims to have played most of the casinos in the world. Trouble is he's good. And no one likes that. So he is forced to back that up. He prefers a pair of six shooters but has used derringers. And if someone calls him on his play and tries to hurt them he shoots to kill which has made him more than one enemy. Thing is he can read people. He can read the tells and knows when to hold them, knows when to fold them, knows when to walk away and knows when to run. What he will not tolerate is poor behaviour towards women regardless of whether or not they are a 'tramp'. More than one person has been called out to a duel because of this. And more than one person has been gunned down from behind for mistreating a woman. The others are some of the only people willing to be seen with him and back him as he can make money for them. death tribble
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! I'll finish this as I am backing up with ideas for teams. This one is almost a direct take from GURPS Supers Rebel Yell Billy Carmody always had the biggest mouth but oh boy when he, of all people why him ?, got superpowers he got it with gusto. See he can yell and he generates sonic waves. Great for controlled demolition work but not so good in sports stadia or in bars trying to hook up with girls and fights break out. Busted for property damage, they sent him to Angola. Or where planning to except he said 'No Way !' too loud and brought the court room down. He escaped in the confusion only to be grabbed by two others who had just been brought in. Before he could speak one of them said. 'You got us out so you can come with us. We'll see you right'. Billy is not too sure of the others; Claim Jumper's tongue is a bit much; and Buffalo Gal's transformation is extreme; And what Cannon does is really freaky. But the Gambling Man's cold bloodedness worries him the most. Fortunately with Rustler as the boss things seem to work out alright. New Team: The Sacramento Courthouse Five. These five criminals were sentenced to death, and are currently on Death Row, after what befell the Sacramento Courthouse and the people who died on that awful day. Your task is simple define one of these criminals and what they did on that day and what they were accused of that warrants the Death Penalty i.e. killing a child, killing a pregnant mother, being a fourth strike, impersonating singing Purple Dinosaurs, mocking George W Bush etc. Please note the following conditions:- (1) If Sacamento in the Real World does not have or support a death penalty, well guess what ? What happened here was so heinous they brought it in especially. (2) One post each (3) At least one of those sentenced to death is innocent (but not all of them. Max 3 innocent, minimum 2 guilty) (4) On the day in question there was a trial of one major supervillain and his cronies; one villain in a seperate trial was being taken from the courthouse to jail; one villain was being taken from jail to the courthouse; others could have been reporting in, paying fines etc. There was also an attack on the Courthouse thought to be an attempt to free the major villain. I leave it to the narrative skills of those posting to say if the major villain got away, if the attack was by allies/cohorts of the major villain, if anyone else like corrupt cops, politicians etc were involved. (5) People died. Emphasise that. (6) At least 75 words so we have more background on what happened and why. If the accused does not know what happened, fine. Spoiler to say who did what in their case. Or leave it really open ended so the reader can decide for themselves.
Cygnia
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! They called Ramon Cortez Heartless for his abhorrent crimes. The man had gone on a brutal spree of murder, killing his wife and brother-in-law, his mother, two co-workers and a highway patrol officer who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Most horribly of all were the attacks on his own children, slitting the throats of his two sons and youngest daughter. By the grace of whatever, his daughter was still alive, but barely when they found her by a rubbish dump with the cooling corpses of her two brothers. Ramon wasn't a super villain then, just unrepentant heartless scum. His smile was cold and faint when they brought him in to court for sentencing. No one was surprised when it came back as the death penalty (though silently the public grumbled at the years of appeals the courts were in store for). And then the assault on the courthouse happened. No one certainly was going out of their way to rescue Ramon, but the bastard decided to try to take advantage of the chaos in order to escape. He got a bullet through the heart for his troubles. And somehow, someway, he got right back up. He never detected as any sort of metahuman prior to the assault. Through some horrible quirk of fate or pact with an unholy entity, Ramon became unkillable -- and TRULY heartless. Which is perfect for him. After all, he still has one loose end to hunt down and finally finish off from his burdensome family. He bides his time, testing what his limits and defenses are with the rest of the Five. For now... No one certainly was going out of their way to rescue Ramon, but the bastard decided to try to take advantage of the chaos in order to escape. He got a bullet through the heart for his troubles. This one bit is so ambiguous that it means he did or tried to do something and then someone fingered him for what happens at the Courthouse. Nasty piece of work there, Cygnia. As a point to everyone else it is the events at the Courthouse that get you the Death Penalty. With Heartless it don't matter but it might to the others. Oh and as a point of Interest this is team no 198.

death tribble
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Peter Reynolds aka Exergis had gone to the Courthouse to pay part of a fine for previous crimes. He had been able to agree a payment schedule as part of his parole and in agreement with all parties including his parole officer. As he was expected he got past the tight security which was mainly for the superstar trial. However no-one anticipated the mayhem when the Courthouse came under attack. Peter like many others paniced and tried to get away. He remembers he was in a corridor with 15 or so people when there was some sort of explosion. Peter staggered out of it covered in dust and debris. He recalls someone saying 'That's him ! He did it !' which was odd as he was otherwise deafened. Traumatised by the blast he got to help from police and emergency services before being bundled off to custody as a paranormal who was at the scene of the crime. The Assistant DA who ran his trial portrayed him as one of the gang involved in the 'heinous massacre' and was able to point to his survival in the corridor where 12 innocent civilians perished including the Bellman twins who were only eight years old. Despite what the Public Defender did, the jury found him guilty and invoked the death penalty not only for the corridor killings but also for the other deaths in the building. Peter's own demeanour that of confusion and bewilderment were denounced by the ADA as was his lack of remorse but how can you have remorse if you did not kill anyone ? He has attracted sympathetic parties who smell stitch up and want to see him released as they claim he is as much of a victim as the people who died. Until then Peter waits on Death Row wondering did I do that and if not who did ? That's more than 75 words and gives everyone more of a flavour of what went on before, during and after. Cygnia and I are out. That leaves three others to complete the team.
Badger
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Sgt. John Sherman is Recluse, retired military who after leaving the armed forces, him and his wife moved out to the wilderness as 3 tours of Afghanistan plus 1 in Iraq left him fatigued about the world. Somehow, he got on the list of potential terrorism, and the ATF invaded his home in the middle of nowhere, leaving his wife dead. Several ATF agents were wounded in his attempt to break out to get help for his wife and he was captured. Later.... After reaching the courthouse, and in the midst of being taken to his trial. The attack happened. After the smoke cleared 6 of those ATF agents involved were dead. Despite, being handcuffed (and in a completely different part of the building), he became the lone suspect. Despite highly suspect evidence and a trial that could be easily seen as railroading him as a scapegoat, he was sentenced to death. He now plots with the other members for escape and vengeance. Matt Holck
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Smithers is alumuni-gator, a race created by Cobra(long dead) of bipetal alligators with neural vegetation implanted in the long cavity of the upper jaw, cold blooded and genetically not human at all. When the video evidence was discovered of Smithers killing a human scientist in a death roll, no one was surprised after all that is the nature of a species. Some suggested putting him down for his killer instinct while the Independent Gator Nation in Louisiana demanded Smithers be questioned. Smithers is after all sentient, He was once the lab assistant of Cobra and claims as such he was trained to save lives. Cobra being a geneticist did not want experiments dying in the lab. However. Smithers confessing to being Cobra's lab assistant 20 years ago made the case suddenly like the Nazi trials for Nuremberg. No one cared about Smithers claims for innocence and the video evidence was damning.

death tribble
Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! I think he means what did Smithers do during the courthouse attack that was criminal. Exactly. It is what happens during the attack on the Courthouse that earns the death penalty for all concerned. Thank you Badger. If Smithers is shown biting the head of a child that would count. Or, shock horror !, if someone accused him of it and the jury in the subsequent court trial believed them. See what I mean ? If they are guilty before hand of something awful (as in the case of Cygnia's crook) that is one thing. The challenge was what happened during the attack that got Smithers condemned regardless.
