How does your Hero relax? Off Time Activities

This is more of a character thing. All work and no play make Batman a dull boy.

What does your character do to relax?

Black Falcon wears blackened steel gauntlets. BUT, she has another pair, a wealthy patron had made for her after a timely rescue (yes, she did accept a reward).

Her new gauntlets are not for fighting but for fishing. They are shaped like eagles claws! With a gripping pads on her palms and fingers, she sports wicked looking, titanium claws.

They work like this: BF flies high above the middle of a pristine mountain lake where the big fish gather to feed. Her telescopic eyes spy a likely target and she swoops down, pulling up at the last minute with a large fish securely in her grasp. Black Falcon fishes just like eagles do.

--she only occasionally misses and ends up in the lake.

and this gal loves to fish! On her time off she jets to the rocky mountains or Canada and sets up a fishing camp, preferably on an island or mountainous ledge (though cabins will also be used, they tend not to be as private as she likes.). She will fry those fish up in a multitude of ways.

Falcon likes ocean fishing as well, but the waters are rougher and she tends to take a spill more often. She likes the panhandle of Alaska best for this, because of the isolation and the many islands.

--just a note about BF's physiology. as a flier, she is not affected by the cold like you and I. She is adapted to high altitudes and cold temps. Likewise her eyes have the telescopic function of a falcon giving her great accuracy. Like an osprey, she can see past the glare of the water's surface. She is about three times stronger than a human, and her diet requires about twice as much meat as a normal human does. Oh and wet wings do not prevent her from flying (they help with swimming too).

Now these claws would work perfectly against rabbits and such, but to BF they be just way to cute to kill. She wuvs da widdle bunnies.

Shade Heads out in his boat. He loves underwater life and goes spear fishing frequently. He's a great cook, and loves an audience. So he will cook up a seafood feast for anyone willing to accompany him.

Psidestep is far more urbane. He spent enough time in the wilds to really enjoy the big city. Las Vegas is his getaway.

Gambling, clubbing, concerts: Psidestep loves any event where he can surround himself with a lot of people. But his nerdy real love is...conventions! Sci-Fi conventions. Gaming conventions. He's a Pen and Paper gamer! If he was in this world, he would already own everything Steve Long has written.

Volt gardens - mainly flowers .

Olorin is busy watching old movies, Tv shows, etc. His favorite movie is "Wizard of Oz" and he thinks the line "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" is a hoot and says "I knew wizards like that."

Black Tiger - watches kung fu movies. He watches the ones with good moves, but secretly enjoys the cheesy impossible ones. But he'd never admit it.

Leadman - Spends time at the local greasy spoon diner ordering "Coffee. Black. Hot. Lots of it. Now." and chatting up his favorite waitress. Someday he may actually get the nerve to ask her out.

Futurian - "Time off? Yeah, I love to mess with people's minds as Futurian, hinting at the future. Just close enough to the truth to be beliveable." He also works at an animal rescue site, but still considers it his time off. "Heck, if I had other income, I'd pay them!"

Man-Ape (Think Bruce Campbell after drawing a Joker-Ace Wild Card) likes to wine and dine starlets, rub elbows with the movers and shakers, and otherwise continue to live the Tinseltown lifestyle even though he's no longer an actor.

Black Knight likes to drink, carouse, and enjoy high-risk sports. (They're not really high-risk for him anymore, because he recovers from virtually anything, but it's still a rush to do something death-and-or-sanity-defying just for the thrills. Plus, some high-risk ventures, like high stakes Poker, have no respect for his ability to regenerate. His bank account doesn't have that power.)

Iron Maiden likes to netsurf, read (and write) genre fiction, and have lots of casual sex.

Economaster doesn't get a lot of 'off time', but does take the opportunity to 'stimulate the economy' throwing huge parties or going on ridiculous spending sprees when the opportunity presents itself.

The Golem has limited opportunities, but does enjoy nature so exploring the woods, hiking, that sort of thing.

Kodiak: Ride horses or motocross. He also helps a friend with a horse stable maintain the grounds. Playing with his new son isn't something to be interrupted lightly...

Speedzone: Time off? Spending time with his fiance is always a high priority when they're not busy with everything else -- but both being science nerds, their idea of fun (outside the bedroom) can involve higher maths..

Invincible has a small farm upstate where he raises and trains horses. With his near invulnerability he's not too worried about being stepped on or kicked, and with his superstrength he can handle the most headstrong of horses. Plus, with his superflight, getting to and from the city isn't a problem. Sometimes he just needs to get out of the public eye and away from the noise and people. Horses keep him grounded.

Girl-zilla (an unfortunate media nickname that stuck), on the other hand, loves the hustle, bustle and anonymity of the big city, given that she can freak out and turn into a rampaging monster if she's not careful. She loves little cafes where she can people watch. She's been taking some photography classes and she's a sucker for Nora Roberts novels.

Phenom was originally Robert Eisner, a widower of 58 who had entered into early retirement to enjoy his fading years with a large and loving family (2 sons, 1 daughter and 10 grandchildren). The death of Robert’s wife Jacqueline, or Jackie to her friends, was an enormous tragedy brought about by ovarian cancer. As distraught as Robert was, he found himself buoyed by good friends and family and embarked on his next life’s journey.

Mere months after his wife’s death Robert retired from his career of more than 30 years in the United Societies Marshals Service, Judicial Security Division (JSD) (collecting a full pension in the process) and began to fulfill his lifelong ambition to become the proud owner of a local pub and eatery. Financed by the sale of his home in the Circle View suburbs of Epic City Robert purchased the very same old English lodge that he and many of his law enforcement friends often frequented in the 1st District.

Robert spent the next six months renovating the old pub in the style of rich wood and leather complimented by authentic law enforcement decorations and mementos of all kinds from all eras of Epic City’s development. Robert’s purchase of the old English pub also included the spacious living quarters in the two stories above the tavern commons. These too Robert refined and redecorated until he was finally at home in his new surroundings. Renaming the pub Marshal’s Robert opened shop surrounded by friends and family.

Things were good for Robert. His new business was garnered such complete support from many lifelong compatriots of the diverse levels of law and government that there was rarely a moment when Marshal’s wasn’t alive with merriment. His staff quickly proved themselves to be trustworthy and skilled, gradually forming a “second family” atmosphere at Marshal’s and his grandchildren absolutely loved their grandpa’s new city digs. Robert’s life was finally settling into an easy pattern of joy and content that fulfilled his wildest dreams, despite the ever-present fact that he was achieving them without his cherished Jackie.

Despite becoming an Epic City superhero Phenom still has tight ties with his family, which has expanded to include his most faithful employees at Marshal's. Every chance he gets Robert will cast aside his heroic duties and make time for his grandchildren and his pub.

Shadow Hawk likes to spend his free time chasing women. He can be found in bars, getting shot down, on a regular basis.

Goliath has the mentality of a well mannered 3 year old. His teammates have given him a 'playroom' with solid concrete walls; he can be found there 'playing' with toys, watching cartoons, and laughing.

Steel Panther is something of a nerd, and spends his off time playing fantasy MMOs.

El Mago, as befits a bored wealthy nobleman/playboy, spends his off time attending upper class parties, eating fine meals, and attempting to seduce other bored, wealthy noblewomen/playgirls.

Enforcer was created as a bodyguard and boy toy. He still likes both jobs. In his off time he spends mixing it up. He once considered offering his services as something of a super escort to women who's powers made relationships with normal men difficult at best. However, he's found emotional entanglements (sometimes his own) get in the way.

Orion - too driven to ever take time off or relax. Used to play softball and work on cars. Lack of a life is a serious issue and source of stress/depression.

Emerald Knight - race power boats, examine off-world technology, surf, mingle with California girls and movie stars. Think of a non-alcoholic Iron Man as played by a young Matthew McConnaughey.

Adamant - Montana cattle rancher.

Bombshell - has a fetish clothing and adult toy store; BSDM lifestyle.

Warhawk - working with troubled youth in Miami; anti-drug campaigns, though that's just an extension of his fight against drug lords.

Audra Blue is an online junkie. I mean that literally. She MUST plug in to a virtual world periodically in order to sync certain autonomic body systems or she'd die. But she also loves creating virtual nodes, so she's been known to spend entire days languishing on a new creation online. Aside from that, she spies on people, via any online camera she can find.

Anthem has very little spare time, doesn't listen to music, doesn't watch tv, but does periodically read. Mostly detective novels, because she feels she'll pick up some deductive powers through the exploits of the characters therein (which really doesn't happen). She loves museums, either art or history.

Uncle Slam paints, writes, sculpts, reads, listens to a highly eclectic collection of music, and imbibes the occasional scotch. Few people have ever seen any of his hobby work.

Sentry - spends some of her off-time casing jewelery stores and the homes of very rich people (just for old times sake)

Rime - Spends her off-time training. She started working towards being a professional figure skater at a very young age, and that determination and competitiveness carries into her current work. She just doesn't know how to relax.

Plasma - He wanders around the house looking for his missing personality...
