Re: When Champions Begat

Soulbarb is not really interested in either sex or procreation, but she's still young, and lots could happen. Currently she is not pregnant in the traditional fashion, but it is quite possible that she is carrying demonic seed and/or some form of proto-hatchling within herself somewhere, given her power origin. Alternatively, if she were to conceive in the normal fashion, it's equally possible that she would wind up giving birth to some sort of demonic changeling rather than a normal child. At some point in the distant future, if she manages to rid herself of Camuranima's taint, and heal emotionally enough to be able and willing to consider the thought of having children, she might do so. Any such child who is interested in following his/her mother's footsteps would probably not inherit her powers, and would have to find their own path, though by that point she'll probably still be able to give some pointers about martial arts and matters of the occult.

Sylph doesn't have any particular hangups about having children, she's just not emotionally ready for it. She's barely into her second decade and a novice heroine herself; she's still feeling out the limits of what she can and should do. On the other hand, given her alternate personality's proclivities, it's quite possible she might wind up pregnant without knowing it or even remembering the event that lead to conception. Naturally, this would really freak her out. As for what powers, if any, her children might inherit from her -- well, that would be up to Dionysus. :) Her powers are his gift to her, and he can bestow or withhold them from her offspring at his pleasure.

Re: When Champions Begat

Lab Rat is only 16. Way too young to be having kids. However, I envision his future daughter would be an obsessive tech genius with an appearance between Kangaroo-Rat-Furry and Human. Of course, it is a mystery how geeks can reproduce despite their incapability of attracting a romantic interest. Okay, I can see how FATALites do it, but decent geeks, that's another issue.

Kitsune will certainly wind up with a child just like her... Or possibly wind up with Quantum Kitsune for a daughter, provided Crosshair Collie approves.

Sonic Eagle will likely end up with a mutant son with powers either similar to what he got in the chemical accident or something totally different.

Reinard the Fox is already married in his home dimension, and just might have a kit waiting for him if he ever gets back (depending on how long that takes). He will be unable to provide much in the way of raising the kid given his job as a cop, but he will do his best to raise his son or daughter. How s/he will turn out is pretty much an unknown.

K. Dogma will rely on eugenics to get himself a pup, and make certain that s/he will be capable of running things when he passes away from old age. (for those who don't know: K. Dogma is basicallt a canine mix of M. Bison and Doctor Destroyer.)

Re: When Champions Begat

Oh, not all of 'em, but they come from different campaigns too. As a note, Sonic Eagle isn't an anthro, just uses the title, and Kitsune's a shifter, so....

K. Dogma will eventually show up in the same campaign as Lab Rat, though not under his control. ;)

And Reinard's an intentionally odd character - after all, he's a toon!

Re: When Champions Begat

Warning: Thread-Drift, in response to FenrisUlf

Though I am working on a game idea that is all about anthropomorphic supers in an anthropomorphics-populated world engaged in the usual supers fare.

Right now, though, getting a good system to publish it in is a real bother. HERO isn't OGL (and rather intimidating to beginning gamers), FUDGE requires specialized dice, Mutants & Masterminds is rather baffling at points, and Silver Age Sentinels costs boku bucks to write a setting for. I've looked at ways to make my own system, but they fell through really fast. And don't get me started on the system found in Brave New World.

Though I would love to get an anthro-game going someday.

If you ever want some ideas, you should check out http://www.extinctioners.com or its entry on wikifur. They have quite a few ideas for anthro supers there, mostly in the vein of early (i.e., before they began to stink) 'new' X-Men.

Re: When Champions Begat

I had this idea for the future CU of the Galactic Champions era. It draws on GM info from DEMON: Servants Of Darkness, so if you want to avoid SPOILERS from that book you'd best stop reading:

After the failure of Luther Black's attempt to summon the Kings of Edom to Earth, almost all the highest leaders of DEMON were consumed in the cataclysmic collapse of his spell... save two. The Left Hand, one of Black's Inverted Trinity, and Demoiselle Nocturne of DEMON's Inner Circle - as powerful beings of Qliphothic energy themselves - were able to survive the conflagration. Taking stock of their situation, they decided to gather the remnants of DEMON under their own leadership. Actually the arrogant Left Hand proclaimed himself the leader of DEMON, but was in truth guided by the "counsel" of the far more subtle Demoiselle Nocturne.

Before the two magical entities could rebuild DEMON, the sudden loss of magic in Earth's universe threatened their very existence in this world. LH and DN retreated to her realm in the Dreamzone in order to survive; however, they continued to guide their minions in the physical world through dreams. Without the overt magic power that DEMON had once wielded, the organization evolved into a more covert, but no less sinister cult: the Church of the Infinite Dark. As the sons and daughters of Terra moved out into space, eventually forming an Empire, the Church spread with them to the stars.

As immortal beings, the Left Hand and Demoiselle Nocturne patiently continued to guide the actions of the Church, spreading corruption and seeking to draw power from the Qliphothic realms to fuel their return to the universe. However, despite being soulless monsters they were also essentially male and female, so in time they came together and conceived a child. Their son was born with all their combined power, evil and ambition, as well as his father's arrogance and mother's cunning; so it really should not have surprised them when he overthrew his parents and seized power for himself. Naming himself the Prince of Darkness, this child of nightmare took over all his parents' plans, but chafed in frustration at being barred from acting directly in the physical world.

That came to an end with the dramatic return of magic to the galaxy in the year 3000. At last the Prince of Darkness is free to walk among his minions in the "flesh," and to advance the plans his parents set in motion long ago. They had told him of Luther Black's goal to free the Kings of Edom and to join their ranks as a god of cosmic horror. To the Prince, that seems a worthy goal.

Taylor (desovle character) is married to her highschool sweetie the Rock (team brick) they have triplets the 2 boys are their natural kids but the girl actually belongs to another member of the team implanted with nanobytes. The boys will have powers like their powers most likely semi bricks with some desolve abilities and the girl will be like her dad a telecyper with some tranmuting powers.

Savage found his mate but she didn't like dating a large hairy guy who loses his temper a lot but never around her. So now he is still looking is space since he was captured and later released by aleins.

Raven has meet his teenage daughter he didn't know he had because of memory lost. He is finding out a lot of interesting things about his past now that it has started to return.

Ms Mystic is getting over the heart ache of the man she loved turning out to be a Major Super Villian. So she is in the man hating stage right now, but if she was to have a child it would most likely have her mental powers or maybe like her brother's mystical power pool.

Fallon/Emerald Dragon is married and is now the happy mother of twins she is semi-retired.

Re: When Champions Begat

Powerstar, having just started his superhero career after being stuck

outside of normal space-time for sixty years, hasn't really had the time to

develop any sort of relationships of that kind. Sooner or later though, he will

find 'Miss Right' and settle down into a (relatively) normal married life. Assum-

ing that he and his wife do have kids, it's likely that at least one of them will

inherit some -- or possibly all -- of his powers (those powers being superhum-

an strength, flight, incredible resistance to damage, and the ability to create

virtually any known stellar phenomenon). It's also possible that he or she could

be immortal like their father. Once magic vanishes from the universe (as per the

history presented in Galactic Champions), however, they would only be

immortal, without any other powers. They, like their father, would also be faced

with the same difficulties faced by the Immortals of the Highlander setting:

Having to "die" once every 20 or 30 years to hide their secret, before being able

to start new lives. With the return of magic in 3000, though, their full powers

will return, but stronger than ever.

Re: When Champions Begat

Justicar is a Roman Catholic priest (unless he unknowingly fathered one when he was a Marine; highly unlikely since he knew very early in his Marine career the Church was his calling); offspring are not in the cards for him. He does have numerous nieces and nephews who might take up the mantle of Justicar if they receive Divine powers like his.

Zl'f is sterile, although she won't find that out until the autumn of 2008*. Exposure to an alien biotoxin on another world killed all of her viable eggs (and nearly her) in 2006 while on a mission in space. Given she has no significant other, is saving herself for marriage, and has minimal dating experience (as in literally one date) kids appear a rather unlikely prospect. However, given that she's also immortal (something else she won't find out until 2008) it's quite plausible that not-too-far-in-the-future medical technology would allow a viable "egg" to be made artificially from her own DNA and she could thus conceive and bear a child of her own with an appropriate father. If she does, the child would almost certainly inherit similar powers to hers since her DNA has been extensively modified since she became superhuman (The foundation which secretly funds and supports her superhero team is also one of the world's leading research institutes on metahumans, and has been studying her physiology extensively since 2000).

It may be moot in the long run, however, because she physically looks fourteen (and will look that way untl she dies) and at this point wouldn't be interested in any guy who is attracted to someone who physically looks fourteen. Don't you just love Catch-22's? :eg:

* Very short story about that here: http://herogame.dans.cust.servlets.net/forums/showpost.php?p=990078&postcount=23

The other characters in that story are introduced in post #1 of that thread.

Fat, ugly, unpleasant people date and marry. A bright, heroic woman like Zl'f won't find being short and mildly underdeveloped that much of a barrier when someone she likes comes along. IMO, of course. :)

IMO, of course. :)[/quote']The problem is with her, not the guys. With a 20 COM she wouldn't have any trouble attracting men anyway, but she thinks guys physically attracted to girls who look her age are virtually child molesters. Lots of guys find small women attractive. I strongly suspect her attitude towards this will change when she meets the right guy and/or in a couple years discovers she's going to look like this forever. Sooner or later she's going to meet someone she finds attractive and interesting.

She has a complicated life, but I suppose it's no worse than many superheroes'.

Re: When Champions Begat

Gidon Reese, son of my game worlds Aquaman/Namor homage. Gi Mon Re as he was named is the son of the Crown Prince of the city of Amuria. Amuria was once capiable of traveling thru space, think Atlantis. The Amurian's fought a terriable war that distroied the home world of the Amurian's, if was during that war that they found a way to adapt themselves to life underwater.

The City of Amuria traveled for many years and finally came to earth over 10,000 yrs ago. Finding a place on the ocean floor of the Pasific, they set to work rebuilding the culture and more cities. The Amurian's knowing that if they were to be known to the people of Earth at this time that would not be good for anyone. For 10,000 years they hid, knowing that eventually the enemies they had fleed would appear, so they waited and made ready.

In the early years of the 21st century, the Shadows began to move. The Amurian's were ready. Si Mon Re, the son of the ruler and a normal human woman, was sent out to the world and was able to contact the leaders of the UN and when the Shadows attacked, the city rose and helped the forces of Earth to win.

Gi Mon, the son of Si Mon, has decided that he wants a more normal life. He has moved to a new city built in the Gulf of Mexico. He will become a superhero due to he's powers and personality. He will use the name, Gidon Reese, to hide he's connection to the Amurian's, more so from he's father.

Re: When Champions Begat

Vitus had an adopted son once... his parents had been eaten during the Great Pilgrimage from Heiropolis to Cynidocea. Vitus didn't have much actually time with him, and most recently poor Paki was disemboweled by Scorpia and eaten alive by a monster in front of Vitus's eyes.

So Vitus doesn't have a family any more and without some sort of incestous sexchange and cloning arrangement seems unlikely to have any in the future either.

Re: When Champions Begat

I'll repost - the last time was nearly 3 years ago. :)

Cat really hasn't changed.

Ballistic likely hasn't either.

Meeb - well he'd just do the mitosis thing. Not a lot of interesting stuff or drama; and his race has racial memories, the kid would know everything that Meeb does.

Sift. This one is fun. In the world she is being played in, she is dating Mordechai, the Sorceror Supreme, who in addition to strong magical powers, is also permanently bonded to what amounts to a "Mithril Elemental." Now in the game, he only just got the mantle, and no one really knows, but a select few. Sift herself is an incipient Godling, and is very talented at magic. So the kid would be part Godling, part Mithral Elemental and all magical. And very superhero. A nice twist would be that the kid has no magical potential and just relies on the strength from dad, and the demigod powers from mom. (And inidently, H. If you read this, that could be a cool plot, the kid switches places with Sift for a few sessions for some sort of time travel story).
