Carrying around a heavy piece of lighting equipment he puts it down, anyone know where this unit goes?  One of the main lights went offline and needs replacing...

"Sharon will know," Annette says.

"I know there was a problem with the second electric two days ago," David Gray says.  "I thought it was several loose connections."

"Judy and Sharon are relamping the first three electrics, which have a number of burned out lamps," says Stage Crew student head Jim Reese as he joins them.  He turns to Drew and says, "I'm not sure where the PAR CAN you're holding goes.  There are some on the balcony edge and some in ceiling catwalks two and three.  As Annette said, Sharon will know."

"Which?" asks Harmony, one of the Cordettes.

Jim sighs and explains, "It's the type of lighting instrument Drew has.  Can is its shape.  PAR is short for parabolic aluminized reflector, which directs the light."

"Oh," Harmony says.  "I still say you're a bunch of geeks."

"And proud of it," Monica laughs.  "Come on, guys.  Let's help Judy and Sharon.  We have a show to get ready for."

"Silly mermaid," Harmony mumbles, more or less under her breath.

"Takes one to know one," Annette laughs as she walks away from Harmony.

Rob waits on his mark. He gazes around the stage and around it. While he hasn't been around this stage for long, his experience on being on the Blue Team of the MMC should give him an idea of what actions are 'normal' and what are not.

("Mark" is a place on the stage where the actors stand when they have to be on stage, as opposed to coming from off stage on to the stage.)

Finally Rob was semi-alone with Doreen after the dress rehearsal. "Somehow, I can't stop thinking that something big is going to happen during the play."

*snap* A photographer from Disney Publications just snapped a photograph for the mook. Rob and Doreen were still in costume,  othoe Rob was without his wig. Rob looks at Doreen.  "You want to give the photographer something to snap?"

"No," Doreen says.

*snap* Don Grant and Bonita Forest are photographed, still in costume, looking at a script.

"Got shots of the Stage Crew Mouseketeers, too," the photographer says.

"Yeah," Doreen laughed.  "It's interesting though how they accept Mark and Cheryl belly dancing in public and him performing as a woman.  Of course, that may be because he's performed that way since he was six and has an androgynous appearance."

After the Dress Rehearsal, Drew watched the senior crew working on the wiring of the lighting fixtures and offers to help.  He gets shocked more than a few times but grins with the others over it all.

(This may warrant a KS: electronics familiarity eventually)

Annette, Monica, and the Gray twins are working with him.  Judy is replacing floodlight bulbs on the first and third electrics that blew during the dress rehearsal.  Jim and Sharon are realigning balcony lighting fixtures that need it.

"It is also the changing times. Like the fact that Berua Vista video for a while distributed Studio Ghibli movies. Now Shout! Factory handles that under there anime label GKids."

"But they can only change so much. It also helps that Walt Disney is dead."

"True.  Let's head home.  We have a big day tomorrow."

Rob blinks. The trip to the restaurant seemed uneventful, but Rob couldn't help but feel...odd walking past Piper's. It wasn't a bad odd, nor a good odd. More like...something he couldn't understand. Walking home was just the same.

The next day was an ok start. Forcently it was not a school day, so they could spend the entire day practicing before showtime.

Rob nods and heads to the green room and finds his mark as they go through the play for the final times before the big for charity performance. While not a member of the acting club at school,  he has to admit that he had fun. It is not THAT different that an average shoot for the Mickey Mouse Club.

Still, he has to really think about continuing this carrier as a school actor. He might have to leave in a middle of a performance to do Lady Heart stuff. He can barely get away with that as a MMC Mouseketeer (thank God for the Blue Team).
