  1. Are you intentionally ignoring the fact that the separation of children from parents, the conditions that refugees are being kept in, and the "zero tolerance" policy are not new complaints to this year? Because...that would be a violation of the rules of this thread and something that you and I have discussed already. You're getting close to that ban button.
  2. So you believe that the current treatment of refugees seeking asylum (and crossing into the US illegally - a legitimate misdemeanor) is acceptable? Or do you believe that it is acceptable because Obama used detention centers (he did it too, therefore it must be ok)? Under Obama, the detention centers were used for exactly that - detaining (for typically minimal time) under the now-criticized "catch and release" policy. Remember complaining about that? I believe you did a while back....though I could be confusing you with someone else. Once you end the "catch and release" policy and enact "zero tolerance" you change detention centers into concentration camps - where those of a particular ethnic background are rounded up and detained indefinitely, under conditions that wouldn't pass muster in a prison. This is only compounded by the humanitarian crisis being faced by refugees fleeing the violence in the South and Central Americas.
  3. Your kids were in high school with you?
  4. The "Allow Cost Multipliers" checkbox under the campaign rules specifies whether the "Cost Multiplier" button will be shown when editing/building powers, lists, etc. A cost multiplier allows you to adjust the cost of an item -- multiply by 2 (double the cost), multiply by 0.5 (halve the cost), etc.
  5. For Rules, there are no current export tags. Probably the closest I'd be willing to go would be to give a Rules container (e.g. <!--RULES--> ... <!--/RULES-->) that would allow you to use ATTRIBUTE_VALUE tags to go through the various getter methods in the Rules object. You'd need to run through the javadoc for the actual method names. Notes (the last column on the characteristics table) are accessed via the appropriate _NOTES tag e.g. <!--STR_NOTES--> The color/color burst was never intended for use in HD -- it was part of a brief integration with the ill-fated HeroSphere. You can get at the value by using ATTRIBUTE_VALUE, but it's pointless as there's no place that it is set within HD.
  6. Prefabs are saved to your local system. You use them as described in the documentation for HD.

Apparently you're still not up for listening...so enjoy that editing.

Again: there is no reason to ever manually edit the appPrefs.xml file. If you're going to insert your own SOURCE elements on a custom rules template, you might want to ensure that the new source is selected under the application preferences when using said template. That's what the SOURCE element was included for.

Actually, thinking about it a bit more, if you're able to edit appPrefs.xml and have the edit stick between multiple runs of HD, then your problem is with file/directory permissions -- HD will overwrite the file entirely during its shutdown sequence....unless blocked by permissions. Permissions issues will also create problems with custom templates (among other things).

    1. HD will create appPrefs.xml (and other files/directories) in the folder that it is run from. Typically, this is the same folder as HD6.jar, but can be different if you do something odd for launching/shortcuts. 2. There is absolutely no need to ever manually edit appPrefs.xml. If you are using a custom template and new rules/source materials are not showing up, then you have not properly defined the custom template...most likely placing custom definitions into the character data section rather than the rules/abilities sections.
  11. Prefabs are meant to be used with HERO Designer (available in the store on this site).
  12. Well that was fun.... Turned out to be an issue with Time Limit's shifting set of options (in particular, Extra Phase only being available when it's a Limitation)....so, yeah. Current update should resolve the issue.
  13. It needs to be purchased through the store on this site:
  14. It depends on the order in which you assign the Modifiers. Extra Phase is only valid if the Power is Persistent, until then, the lowest valid value is 1 Turn. Not too much different from Time Limit only becoming available after Reduced Endurance is assigned. If you assign Time Limit before assigning Persistent, then you'll see 1 Turn as the first option in the drop down. If you then assign Persistent and go back in to edit Time Limit, you'll find that Extra Phase is available. Alternately, if you assign Persistent before assigning Time Limit, Extra Phase will be available from the start.
  15. You have a rather dated/old copy of HD - sold under a 2 year support contract. While the app will still function without issue, to gain access to the current updates and added functionality, you'll need to "re-purchase" the app. The good news is that we kept the cost of purchasing the same as the prior cost of renewing a support contract ($25)
  16. What happens when you multiply something by 0?

for 1) vi. Old-school, but wonderfully powerful.
  18. Assigning of Resource Points to items is not a character creation issue -- that occurs and changes at game-time.

    Error in HD

Your initial support request left a bit to be desired -- "HD starts with error" doesn't really tell me anything other than that you're having a problem. The follow-up information helped...particularly the character file that was causing the issue. The problem is fixed in the current build.
  21. HD takes Advantages into account when calculating damage with STR. In the example you're using, Reduced END does not affect the damage calculation (per the rules) and is not included in HD's prorating. STR Minimum will be taken into account if you replace the range with the actual STR Minimum to use. The range is there to set the level, it is expected that you will specify what the actual minimum is when assigning it.
  22. And yet here you are creating an issue, ignoring the "debate" and arguing with the poster. Welcome to moderation, archer.
