  1. Yes it is... Sorry, when I wrote last night I had had a long day, and it was too late for me to confirm (or correct) my first thought... And I LOVED the Adept series!
  2. There is the "Help your Local Wizard" series of book by Diane Duane...
  3. Hey Steve, just to know, is it possible to take the "Always On" limitation on a power that also has the limitation "Only in Hero ID"?
  4. I would think the power would have to be continuous or have continuing charges, AND sticky. If Continuous, the power affect the target as long as END is spent. The continuing charges make it so that the power last a predetermined time. In either case an AoE power affect the target (the area) for a certain period. The sticky advantage makes it so that anything that comes into contact with the target gets affected by the same power. So anyone who was in the area, or came into contact with said area while it the power was still active get affected by a continuing power... no? Anyway, that is what I would do it...
  5. I think Snarf is on the right track. There is no time limit on the Delayed Effect advantage, so I would put a Side Effect that takes effect after a certain amount of time. I don't know how complicated you wnat to make this cannon, but the side effect could be gradual, or happen all at once (like the weapon burns-out, and doesn't function again until repaired). Just an idea...
  6. Stun Settings Don't forget the Stun Only limitation, at least for the Light Stun setting. I have never seen the Stun settings doing Body to anything (Except in ST VI, where the 2 traitors are found dead from repeated Heavy Stuns at close range.)
  7. I 'm no Brit, but a term that I could see them using is "widget". Just a suggestion...
  8. Yup Check down this page Hero Products 2004
  9. Those all define what kind of focus a character has. Look up the definitions under the focus limitation (FREd p.187-191)
  10. Hey Steve, I was just looking at some of the examples of ARGENT technology that were provided in Champions Universe and was wondering something: Should the Gravitic Repulsor (CU p.140) cost END for its passengers? I was just wondering if that was a mistake. Thanks again for all the hard work!
  11. Hey Steve, Just wanted to know: why was the MARS "Screaming Mimi" Incapacitor Grenade (MC p.61) built with a Flash to Hearing Group linked to a Flash to Sight Group instead of using the +5 point adder that allows to Flash an extra Non-Targeting Sense Group? Was it just so that to allow for the fact that one could recover hearing before sight (or vice versa)? As an aside, does a fragmentation grenade do Physical damage or Energy damage? I was looking at the VIPER frag grenade (CU p.146 sidebar), and it doesn't say. I always found that grenades a bit ambiguous (apart from the fact that they HURT! )
  12. Well, I actually take for granted that a straight EB and an AoE EB will have something that differentiates them, even if they have the same SFX and they are in a MP. This is a classic scene from comics, where an Energy Projector was blasting away and suddenly he throws an energy ball. "I wonder what that is going to do?" says the hero. Now, I would make the caveat that the first time an AoE (dependending on SFX) they will probably not know that Diving for Cover would be a good idea. Be careful, the players will probably turn the tables on you at one point: "How did Black Paladin know to Dive for Cover?" "Huh..." And if your players DfC alot, remember that after that action they are at ½DCV until there next action! All those Held Action become very useful at that point.
  13. I would suggest David Webber's «Honor Harrington» series. I like the space battles of that series alot, and there are even a few good planet-based battles.
  14. Hey Steve, I was just reviewing Talisman for use in my campaign and was stumped by something. She has KS:Witchcraft. Is that the knowledge of Witchcraft, the Art, or Witchcraft the Sister?
  15. Hey Steve, Just was wondering, can a character «Haymaker» there breakout roll to get out of Entangle? If yes, if the charcter is moved for some reason or other, can he still finish his maneuver? (His target hasn't really change position in relation to himself) What about to break out of a Grab? Though I see that one not working too well, since it would be easy for the «Grabber» to stop the haymaker. Keep up the good work!
  16. This is especially appropriate if someone close to Coriolis has fallen in combat. They hear there name whispered by a familiar voice just as they Recover consciousness.

You could do it for the Punisher next year! Dark Champions is coming out "mid-2004", and if I can believe the poster I saw yesterday, so is the Punisher movie. If the order is right (book before movie) I think it would be cool.
  18. That's what copy-paste is for. I think you should do that. These are worthy additions to the plot seeds thread.
  19. Hey guys, I can... This happened not too long ago, to another player. All the players had 2 characters. At one point, VIPER ambushed 2 PCs and both of them needed to be hospitalized. Two weeks of game time and about 6 sessions went by before the second character of one of the unlucky players also got injured. Looking at his character sheet, the player (and thus his character) said: Mongoose (MA): "Hey guys, I can heal people!" We all had a laugh, as he realised that he could have gotten his second character back in action, and also one of the team leaders...
  20. Well, as to Lack of Weakness, if the elemental in question is invisible it is hard to make the FW rolls. Don't you have to be able to see what you are aiming at? As to the invisibility, I might suggest the "Bright Fringe" limitation (-¼). It would save you some points and, usually, you should be able to keep it more than the 8" away from the PCs. That would let you say that every once-in-awhile they spot something out the corner of their eyes, just before they get smaked. With that last limitation though, you may want to take the Lack of Hit Locations. (there go the points you saved! Easy come easy go... )
  21. Obviously... Kill the GM! Seriously, it would depend on how you feel about the character. If the group doesn't particularly like the concept of an enemy that CAN'T be killed, the you should make sure that the GM understands that. That being said, "unkillable" characters often have an achile's heel weakness that circumvents their supposed immortality. In game like that you usually have: - A first "quest" to find out who might know it; - A second search to find the individual in question and ask him what material, device or situation would bring permanent death to the «evil doer». - A third "quest" to find, gather and maybe fabricate the antagonist's «kryptonite», or the place where the enemy would stay dead; - And the obvious fourth, using the item in the apropriate setting for it to have it full power vs said enemy, or luring/forcing him to where he is vulnerable. Those are the classics for the typical "unkillable" nemesis...
  22. Darn it, Monolith beat me to it... "Your speed is... impressive":D
  23. I have both, and they complement each other very well. UMA lists multiple martial arts, gives you the rules on how to design new maneuvers, lists a LOT of martial arts weapons. It also talks about designing powers and using powers frameworks form MA charaters and a few other things. Ninja Hero talk mostly about the Genre and what relates to it, how martial arts are used in multiple genres. It talk about character creation for MA characters, how to run martial art combats from realistic to wuxia cinematics, and how to run campaigns that involve MA, or that involve MA characters. It also has some maps that MA characters would have a good chance of visiting (school, arena,...) I like them...

Must be a Canada thing. I have the same problem in Mtl.An as an aside, I also love this book. Will be very helpful with my crop of Hero-Beginners...
  25. The impression I am getting is the Naked Power Advantages are probably more approprtiate in a Hero-level campaign (as opposed to Superhero). Something like Cyberpunk or Pulp Hero, and lets not forget Ninja Hero, to represent some of the fantastic things that the Heroes can do.And so, NPA should be avoided (or at least have the disad "Hunted:Watched") in a Champs game.
