  1. Re: Dealing with Invisible Heroes You have to also concider the problems that he could give to the rest of the team. If they don't know where he is, they might not use some of their area effect attacks for fear of hitting him. That is a question: can he become visible selectively. Meaning, can he pick and choose who he is visible to? And if he says: "I keep a tracking device so my team mates know where I am", then he wouldn't be invisible to everything anymore, will he?
  2. Re: Making It Tougher Cool concept! But I would have to know: 1. Would this "toughening" be permanent? 2. Does he do it at range, or does he have to touch the object? 3. Does the material actually change, or does it just get tougher? I can think of one funny situation for #3: if the material doesn't change and there are no visible effects, glass doors and windows can be VERY effective! GM: "The Bullet sees you through the window! What do you do?" Player: "Hold action. Wait to see what he wants to do." * Time goes by and Bullet has another Phase * GM: "The Bullet charges you! (Move Through) And..." Player: "I want to use my action!" * Sound of dice for opposed Dex-roll * Player: "I win! I reinforce the window." GM: "Oh..."
  3. Re: Speed Brick There is a "speed-brick" in the adventure: "Unearthed Mechana", whihch is in one of the Digital Hero issues. It's a pretty good adventure too, designed for the beginning GM, quite a few observations and suggestions on how to run it.
  4. Re: The great armour race... It's in Fantasy Hero, under "New Talents", P.105.
  5. Re: THE ULTIMATE BRICK -- What Do *You* Want To See?
  6. Re: Suddenly Alone on the Stations Before I would make any suggestion, I would like to know the state of the rest of the solar system. - Is there (or was there ever) a moonbase? - Are there nop other colonies in the whole solar system? - And I would really like to know what conditions make the Earth uninhabitable. If is is radiation, biological agents, "nuclear" winter (could be meteor strike or some such). The reason i ask is that even though it might be uninhabitable on the large scale, domed colonies could be established on earth, for mining, water processing, and maybe even some industry. And I am sure there would be other reasons...
  7. Re: mystical challenge You should ask her if she WANTS it to be magical. That part is only SFX, thus it's possible if the GM allows it. Basically, if the GM (you, right?) allows a non-magical shadow walk, then you are right!!! Be sure she also understands that if the ability is magical in nature it could be affected by Detect Magic, a suppress magic effect (antimagic areas, etc), and anything else that might affect magic. If she wants the ability to be unaffected by such, she might see the light of day.
  8. Re: Supervillain Images I think he means the seeming mixture of image types when you meld the hair to the bodies
  9. Re: OK Call me stupid but..... Great definition KA. I hope you don't mind if I share it with a few friends...
  10. Re: Mental Entangles and the Weak-Willed To add to what Austenandrews said here, I once asked Steve if you could use a Haymaker to get out of an Entangle. He replied yes, as long as the GM allows it (and all the other conditions for Haymaker are there). So Ogre could get out eventually if left alone, when the GM deems it dramatically appropriate: Hero, standing infront of Ogre (not noticing the beads of sweat on the Big Guys forehead): "Yessir, Mr. Until Agent, here's Ogre for you all docile and... " Ogre (after FINALLY breaking the entagle): "RAAAAARGH!" «CRASH!» (He still had that car, right?)
  11. Re: Recamended Reading I did enjoy that series, but a warning for you: there is a 2nd series that follows the events of the Belgariad, called the Malloreon (or something like that). It's story is VERY similar to the first series. At 5 book a series it (the second seried) got a bit repetetive. The author (name escapes me) has another series called the Elenium, in a completely different world. I enjoyed that series a lot more then the Belgariad (personal opinion). And the series is only 3 books long so, it costs less... Warning this last series also has a 3 book follow-up which shows a remarkable similarity to the first.
  12. Re: Autofire as Accuracy Booster One thing that you could do to simulate more accuracy with a AF attack is make the power (Weapon, EB, RKA, ...) into a multipower and buy a slot wit AoE (1 hex, accurate) and call it "Filling up the Hex" And give it the Limitation of using 5 charges. What do you guys think of this construct?
  13. It probably shoudn have AP. From the little that i read, the P90 was specifically designed to be used against armored personnel. This is IMHO, of course...
  14. I would just apply the TK's strength damage. Same thing as if a character was thrown. (Check under Grab maneuver FRed p.256)
  15. Officially... Hunting(specific character) is defined in the Champions Genre book p.67. It is defined as a psych limitation. As for the rest, I am a new GM, and will let more experienced people give suggestions...
  16. Sorry about that. Okay, a character has a AoE Flash that does knowback. At one point, he uses the Flash against a group of "bad guys". In the same area as the effect of the Flash is also a Force Wall. Does the Force Wall suffer any direct effects from the knockback of the attack? The reason I ask is, if a character was knockback into the Force Wall he might do enough damage to it for it to go down. But what if there is no character being knocked back into it? Positing that most attacks like this would be caused by a pressure wave, repulsor beam, or some such: - Would there be an effect on the Force Wall? I know that you have to exceed the Def of the Wall before it goes down, but I am assuming that the knockback would try to "push" the Wall. Since a Force Wall is generally immobile, I was wondering if the knockback of the attack would turn into damage for the Force Wall. Never mind how the "damage" would be caslculated. Thinking on it, it would probably have to be judged on a case by case basis, depending on the power construct.
  17. I don't know if this has been asked before, but here goes: If a Force Wall is in the area of effect of an attack that only does knockback, does the Force Wall take damage? If it does, how much damage would it take, the full "damage dice" worth, or do you roll to see how many "inches" it would take?
  18. I doubt it too late, steriaca. The book is not due out till November 2004, and I think Steve mentionned that Allen only started working on the book this week.
  19. You might want to make it an MP. If your are calling for help, you could buy it as a Summon, with gestures, incantations, and (variable) extra time...
  20. You would if you had read The Tick! Arthur is the Tick's sidekick. And, for another funny observation, in the French version of the Flintstones ("Les Pierreafeu"), Barney's name is translated as "Artur".
  21. Actually, my campaign also has a character with secret ID and public ID (maybe famous, have to check). The funny thing is that in Hero ID he's a Weather Manipulator, and in civies he's a weather reporter. In both IDs he is often reffered to as the "Weather Guy". Gets confusing sometimes...
  22. Just wanted to ask: - In your Champions campaigns, do the characters know each other secret IDs? - Do they ALL share there secret IDs? - GMs: What do you prefer? What problems have you run into with regard of ID sharing? For myself, I encouraged the players to share there secret IDs because of a previous game, where the subject got blown all out of proportion, and dominated several session. I don't think any of the other players really like that part of the story, so when I started my campaign, I suggested that they might want to share who their characters are with each other (in game) so we could avoid that. They agreed. I also go to wonder if the Champions would share their secret IDs with each other. Ironclad and Sapphire are not an issue, and Nighthawk doesn't seem the type, but what about Witchcraft and Defender?
  23. I'm pretty sure he meant 20"/phase ...
  24. I would like to hear how Initiate are chosen to become Morbanes, and what the "transformation" entails. Another thing I wouldn't mind, is to see a Demonhame that has recently been set up, and what DEMON is doing to spread their influence in that city. I even have a good candidate: Millenium City! It seems that the other organization books have avoided using MC, but I wouldn't mind having a few extras added to the city. If GM doesn't like what he sees he can always not use it, or set it in another city the players will visit.
