  1. Re: Ghostly Possession Dust Raven & Dr. Anomaly: You guys have a point, so I would suggest to go for a custom Limitation: Requires Corpse, instead of defining as a Focus of somekind, probably worth -¼ or - ½ (depending on how often the spirit would stumble upon a corpse). Making an expendable Focus implies that you won't find a corpse after your done with the possession. and anyother type of focus you sorta have to have it around so that someone can take it away or destroy it. (I hope I am making somekind of sense.)
  2. Re: Thermographic N-Ray Vision Mostly luck really. I'm designing a Power Armor character, and happened to stumble on it last night.
  3. Re: Thermographic N-Ray Vision I just wan to point out that there is an "official" version of N-Ray Theraml Vision In Gadgets & Gear, p.79.
  4. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Or until you see the size of the Demon. (Short for "Dimensional Traveler" in Robert Asprin MYTH series.)
  5. Re: Mindless summon Well, the main reason that I had suggested the TK with Physical Manifestation was that impossibility of mind control (except by you character). Also, the TK "entity" would have Physical Skills, your characters. I guess you don't wantyour character to have to concentrate so that the summoned creature can act. I guess JmOz just mentionned the suggestion closest to what you want. I had thought of something similar, but decided to go for simplicity.
  6. Re: Ghostly Possession This is going to be a bit wacky, but what about Multiform with an OIF (not expendable) and make it a 1 Charge (Recoverable) [Continuous?]. See the OIF is for the fact that you can use any corpse (hopefully your character doesn't find too many of those around ). The Recoverable Charge is the fact that he has to have a corpse in his "possession" to use the power. When he stops using the power the "charge" is dropped on the scene. He he reuse the same corpse to use the power again, if it is still in a fit state for use. I know it is a bit backwards, but it's an idea.
  7. Re: Mindless summon Maybe somthing like TK with Physical Manifestation? I'm sure there are probably other advatages and disads that should be added (like Fine Manipulation), but I don't want my brains to explode!
  8. Re: Millenium City Salt Mines Sorry to say but it has already been mentionned on the boards before: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=679978#post679978 It's still a good link thought.
  9. Re: Phenomenal Cosmic Power... itty bitty rules question Technically, this would be correct, but as a GM I would hesitate to allow a player to apply Inherent to stats. Really, I would have to look at it more closely before I would form an actual opinion. I am just leary of the fact that you would have to buy up the Inherent portion if you ever decided to buy up END or REC. Personally , I would encourage the player to buy some Power Defense (Only to protect END; -1), like around 15 points or so, depending on any Active power cap you may have. That would represent how hard it would be to Drain END from the character, as no matter how much you drain, he still has more. One note I would make is, for SFX purposes, I would allow any character that use Transfer END to X, to still be able to receive ponts for the Transfer but the character would not suffer any loss. You can draw as much power from him as you want, but he still doesn't get tired!

  11. Re: Help: Elephant Man? Looking at the demon Behemoth, I thought: "Whoa! Mammoman actually ate Iceman!" And I know what would be his next line: "AAAAARGH! ICE CREAM HEADACHE!!!"
  12. Re: Space elevators Just a question: Would everybody have to go the full 50,000 km? I thought there might be some reasons to have other stops long the way.
  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Does that include the character who has the feat? I can see it now: "Sorry, you can't use that feat anymore. You whole family is dead." "What about me?" "Your undead, so you don't count."
  14. Re: solid light holograms You mean "The Klaw", right?
  15. Re: Conversion - Wraith, the Oblivion As I remember, usually the Shadow is simply a voice that incites the Wraith to give in to some Psych Disads the character probably already has, but under certain condition, it can totally take over. With those caveats, in the original system, it was suggested that the Shadow be played by another player. He could easily play the "voice", but I am sure that the GM could have made his own "suggestions". If the character gave in to his dark side, then another player was suppose to take over the character. I think the suggestion that other players take on the "Shadow" personna for other player's characters was to spread the GM responsibilties amongst the group. It was (probably) to encourage players to contribute to any scene, and involve them in the story. An admirable goal, but I am sure it wasn't to everyone's tastes. Of course, the loss of control of one's character to another player, was probably to emphasise the dark and depressing nature of the world presented by WW.
  16. Re: The thing. Summon with this limitation would make sense to me.
  17. Re: Conversion - Wraith, the Oblivion I did't want to touch upon the Shadow-boon that a character could take advantage of, since it has been a long time since I even looked at Wraith. Just look at it as a joint effort.
  18. Re: Conversion - Wraith, the Oblivion The closest I can come to what is implicated by the "Shadow" personna would be a combination of a Psych Disad for when it is whispering suggestions into the character's ear and Multiform with Accidental Change for when the character looses control to the "Shadow". I think the Multiform would be necessary for the simple fact that IIRC the Shadow can have different Psych Disads, and powers.
  19. Re: What skill would you use to see if someone is lying? I just want to point out that there is a skill that is built to "tell believable lies." It's Persuasion, and it has a rules already spelled out on how to detect lies when this skill is used. It doesn't specifically spell this out, but I would allow Complementary rolls from appropriate Interaction Skills on both sides of a conversation.
  20. Re: Works Well in the Source Material, not so Well in the Game I found a way you can do Death Traps, without necessarily depressing the Players too much. I take a page out of the Teen Titans cartoon, and they wake up in the Death Trap. Then you can give them a quick run down of how the characters were ambushed (together or seperatly), and captured. I found the depressing part of getting characters into such a situation is the fact that if you roleplay, it you have to hit the PCs when they are at a terrible disadvantage, and there is always the chance through luck or genius ideas and exceptional roleplating that they could get out of it. If the GM REALLY needs the characters to be in a death trap, if only to use such a staple of the genre, just tell them how they got there, and let them deal with how they get out. What do you guys think?
  21. Re: weather control in space? Actually, he might be asking this question because of Storm. In the issue where the X-men first met the Brood (IIRC), Storm was stranded in space and used the solar winds to make her way back to safety.
  22. Re: VIPER's Draysha boosted stats... I forgot about the dimished addition to Defenses. Good catch! And as to which one was right, Steve answered my question and only the Primary Characteristics are augmented (minus the COM).
  23. Hey everyone, It's been a while since I posted last, but my Millenium City is picking up again and I need some help. I'm planning to have some Draysha Agents from VIPER: Coils of the Serpent ambush the team. I'm just confused as to how their powers work. This is what I posted to Steve: I didn't go into the fact that if it is ALL Characteritics (except COM), a max of +24 PD/ED is rather scary, concidering they would also get +12 to their CON. Add +2 SPD, and VIPER would not even need a Dragon Branch anymore! I was wondering if anyone else has used any Draysha VIPER Agents in their campaign, and did you modified them? If so, how? If you haven't used them, how would you change them? (Of course, this assumes that you have access to the VIPER book. If you don't, go get it!)
