  1. Re: Freerunning Or how about "Analyze: surfaces and objects ahead for freerunning off" as complementary to acrobatics?
  2. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) The Ultimate Onan.... oh my word! Wasn't expecting that one... have some rep!
  3. Re: GMing STAR HERO at UK Student Nationals Tournament - yay! Definitely interested to hear more! One thing though, is there a website for the championship? A quick google search didn't turn up anything... apart from the question "Did you mean to search for: UK Student RAP Championship" !
  4. Re: Yog-sothoth.com So that would make me the pimp of an Outer God? I wonder if I can now afford to give up my day job?
  5. Can I put a word in for http://www.yog-sothoth.com/? It's a pretty good Cthulhu site and I think worth a look if you're considering a pulp horror game in the Hero system. A word of warning though... they've got downloadable audio of themselves playing all the way through Masks of Nyarlathotep... once you get sucked in, it takes quite some time to get through to the end... I'm still on the Cairo chapter but making good progress! Chapter 12 has some particularly good bits concerning six elderly scimitar-wielding gentlemen guarding an artifact from ancient Egypt... well worth a listen!
  6. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "Brother 52" by Fish on youtube. I think he actually gets a tattoo done in the video!
  7. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "Market square heroes" by Marillion, inspired by their recent one song reunion with Fish the other week! Only 19 years after the split!
  8. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Deadly Assassins Armed Only With Knitting Needles Hero
  9. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Plankton Hero, where noble, do-gooding plankton strive valiantly deep under water to thwart the evil plans of amoral, no-gooder plankton! Possible 2013 release?
  10. Re: What's the best hero suppliment! I find Star Hero keeps calling out to me from the shelf! It's just a great book. Lots of material to keep coming back to. I do have a weakness for Spacers Toolkit too... gotta love those spaceship write ups! Pulp Hero and Dark Champions would do too if it wasn't for the fact that I only have them on PDF!
  11. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Traffic Warden Hero where hard working honest traffic wardens try to earn an honest crust in the hostile world of giving out parking tickets to unhappy (and sometimes violent) citizens!
  12. Re: Scenarios for Alien Wars Does anyone know if any other third party scenarios are coming out for AW ? Sounds like a great way to support the Star Hero genre and judging by the number of posts to the Star Hero forum I'd say there's more than enough interest...
  13. Re: How to handle Western Hero Duels/Showdowns On a light hearted note: We tried playing the Moricone spaghetti western soundtrack CD at such moments... worked for us!
  14. Re: Searching for a game in the Edinburgh area This link might be handy in general. Not sure if you've seen it before... http://community.livejournal.com/edin_roleplay/profile
  15. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... Don't be too successful. After all, if you defeat all the heroes and become President Of Planet Earth what's left to do? You'll end up releasing any captured heroes that you have lying around just to let them have another go at you to keep things interesting!
  16. Re: What I learned playing a blaster! Blasters with binoculars!
  17. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist I should know UMA cover-to-cover, then convince my GM to get a copy too so we can explore the joys of the "my martial arts character is becoming awesome" experience together! Other players, what other players? Let's talk about my martial arts...
  18. Re: Lovecraft Stuff Forgot to mention - it's not actually free, but it's not too pricey either, $15 or so I think. But it's definitely worth it!
  19. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist When you're the Undisputed King of martial arts type X, not only do you have the problem of pretenders to your throne popping up and trying to take your crown, you've also got those pesky Undisputed Kings of other martial arts types wanting to show that their's is undeniably superior! The moral of the story is that Undisputed Kings of martial arts tend to get involved in a lot of fighting!
  20. Not long now... a few more months and the Pulp Hero forum will overtake the DC one for total posts! The race is on!
  21. Re: Lovecraft Stuff If your group does get into the mood for a longer Cthulhu campaign, and are looking for something ready made, Masks of Nyarlathotep is fantastic! Even if you don't run it per se, it's full of great atmosphere to get you thinking in that Lovecraft/Cthulhu way!
  22. Re: What I Learned Being a Star Hero GM Just how good the Star Hero book is! Big fan of Spacers Toolkit too (although under the cover it's really more about ships than SF gadgets and gear. Not that I mind, I might add!)
  23. Re: What I've learned playing a Traveller Playing a Traveller (back in the 80's at least) meant realising just how good a simple but well designed cover could look. Even without pictures!
  24. Re: What I've learned playing a starfighter pilot It's so dangerous actually being a starfighter pilot that you won't be needing to put any money into pension schemes... this frees up lots of cash for buying mods and upgrades for your ship!
