  1. Re: Star Wars coolness If they can do this for the SWTOR computer game, does this mean that I dare still hope that the tv series will be the best thing since sliced bread? (For "sliced bread" read "Empire Strikes Back" of course...)
  2. Re: Thrilling Hero Adventures PDF In Store That is a really nice cover! Great to see the adventures in one book too!
  3. Re: FH Scenarios These are really handy sites... some of the brimming over with back-in-the-day nostalgia-power I'd second the suggestion in the linked thread above to "sticky" this thread (which would sticky both as the other's linked in here).
  4. Re: Fun With Your New Head Posted on April 1, eh....? I could do with a head like that sometimes... just a bit smaller perhaps! Otherwise I won't be able to fit into the lift at work... or even the front door for that matter...
  5. Re: Trek Hero PDF available Glad this thread has re-animated! Just downloaded the pdfs... OMG am impressed! No, I mean really, really impressed. Great job!
  6. Re: Google maps... with nukes! With all that detail on PSI and what kind of structure is blown away at different distances that's just asking for some accurate Hero System modelling isn't it? The link to the Princeton material from 1977 telling you "everything you wanted to know about nuclear explosions" (here ) is oddly fascinating too... Being a period document, a page of this might actually make for quite a good gaming prop... it would certainly freak out the PCs!
  7. Re: Surbrook is on the Accidental Survivors! Looking forward to listening to that! Thanks! I see the podcast has been running for over 40 episodes now. That's pretty good. Always happy to find a new decent podcast! Especially one that deals with the Hero System on occasion!
  8. Re: Places to Fight I would not, could not in box. I could not, would not with a fox.
  9. Re: Places to Fight Nice. Then there's the extreme sports version which is fighting on an orbiting space platform. Now that's a long way down if you get knocked off! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgggghhhhhh!
  10. Re: Places to Fight Loving that rpgnetwiki list! It's got my own personal favourite on there... "in a rocket silo with the launch countdown running"!!!
  11. Re: "Australia" was not a bad Pulp film Hey, that's quite a good way to get something more out of what is otherwise a slightly disappointing movie (IMHO), think of it in terms of a Pulp Hero game and adapt as you please. Nice!
  12. Re: Freeze Frame: Polar Photographic Archive Great site that! Did you say a "chilling sense of scale and desolation"? What, from a polar photographic archive? Chilling you say?
  13. Re: A What would you like to see thread... I guess it might be this one?.... Quite a nice looking free pdf there!
  14. Re: Historic Crime Scenes in Sydney That is a very nice site... only the 689 period photos there! Great for a range of pulp games. Good for props or inspiration. Like it!
  15. Re: Abandoned buildings gallery Like those additional sites guys! *wishes he was in a game using some of these photos as props... A LOT!*
  16. Re: New Moon in One of Saturn's Rings
  17. There's a rather nice picture gallery of abandoned buildings here for all your dark champions / horror game prop needs! Hats off to w00hoo from the ukroleplayers forums for this little gem!
  18. Re: Suicide Girl Like that a lot! That's such a nice idea you might want to self-publish a short story with the character in it or somehow copyright it just to make sure you've got the intellectual property rights when someone else rips if off and tries to make a fortune in a film or book or something! No, seriously.... go, go, go to the "place where they do copyrighting" (yes, you can tell I have absolutely NO IDEA how that works, but you know what I mean I hope!)
  19. Re: Google maps... with nukes! Yep, it all gets a bit serious when you bring nukes into a game. Hopefully though the PCs will manage to stop them going off somehow! There is another problem with them... once you've introduced bad guys with nukes where do you go next to up the ante? Didn't "24" have a problem with that... I think the season after "the one with a nuke" had biochemical weapons or something and I remember thinking "ho hum" for that very reason...
  20. Re: Some Book Of The Machine Pages Posted Sorry but you're going to have some more nice comments I'm afraid! That looks great! That has definitely moved into my "want it now" list!
  21. In case you haven't seen it, this nice site allows you to select various size of nuke (from 15kt to full-on big asteroid equivalent) and target it on your town of choice.... http://www.carloslabs.com/node/16 But here's the nice bit... it's on google maps so you can zoom in and out to your heart's content! Could be quite handy for your Dark Champions game. Thanks to Hafwit from the rpgmp3 forums for this little gem!
  22. Re: Dark Champions Fun from Google Books Nice. Quite refreshing to see a list of non-lethal weapons for Dark Champions!
  23. Re: Fantasy Hero Resources page I should have said so before and am saying so now... This is a great site! It's rep time! As for keep on the borderlands... that was just too tempting not to download! (Great suggestion above putting the link in your sig actually!)
  24. Re: Shadowcats Vehicular Insanity Shop: Comprehensive Rotorcraft Site That's quite a fun site! I can see that being used in quite a few ways for some good background flavour for various types of campaign. Nice. E.g. The Castel. "The device made a successful take-off, but crashed into a wall, which unlucky accident put an end to its career. Castel later had the idea of replacing his compressed air engine by a petroleum engine." Hmmm, not sure if that was such a good idea given what happened to the first version....
  25. Re: Another Found World Lost! Google's statement was along the lines of: "In this case, however, what users are seeing is an artefact of the data collection process...." Ah, so not the streets of Altantis on the sea bed at all then? Oh, right... Hmmmm, a conspiracy theorist might suppose that this sounds exactly like what they could have been told to say to cover it up while they amend the data to make it look less suspicious and stop people hiring a boat with some diving gear and getting on out there for the scoop of the century! Luckily I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but you see what I mean I suspect... Time for a cross post on this one to Dark Champions perhaps... could make for a nice Delta Green / Hero crossover too....
