  1. Re: A Look at my Version of the CU Ah, should've used italics or quotes: "No Soap, Radio" was the title of the show-- a very weird, short-lived US sketch comedy of the early 80s.
  2. Re: A Look at my Version of the CU Quark, anyone? Or No Soap, Radio?
  3. Re: What's my name? Wartorispelling?
  4. Re: Weak Supers who just needed better writers An animal-mimic might do well to study the waterbear.
  5. Re: SUPER product endorsements? Though I don't think it actively came up in my old campaign, Irving did some promos for the library (in particular, some READ posters that were quite popular both at the NYPL and elsewhere).

  7. Re: Weak Supers who just needed better writers On a more pragmatic level, the UN would find him invaluable, as would Biblical scholars or indeed many archaeological departments ("We're trying to work out this passage of Linear B...").
  8. Re: Mystic World cover Female gamers are such a tiny minority that they're considered all but legendary, and since fine companies like Avalanche Press have proven that a cover with a scantily-dressed babe will sell books even if it has nothing to do with the contents, it behooves companies to take note of the "will probably never touch a willing living female in their lives" demographic that seems to comprise so very many gamers-- A technician walks in and opens a panel on Brandi's back. "Ayup, I see the problem here: someone set this poster to 'sarcastic'."

    Sapphire?

Re: Sapphire? She's sort of what Dazzler would have been if she originated in the Britney Spears era rather than the disco era.
  10. Re: Fantasia: witch needs review Quick and dirty solution: does that fat bastard in PSI (I don't remember his name) get points for his fatness? If not, Fantasia probably doesn't need to.
  11. Re: Super-strong ear muscles? Only if you're modeling the character from Soul Vengeance.
  12. Re: Leagacy of Iron: Power Suit characters...
  13. Re: Dr Yin Wu I don't see a PM button for you, Kirby, but I did want to say, re 3e Ravenloft: the Gazetteers-- the first 3 or 4, anyway-- might be worth getting. They're more about fluff (setting) than crunch (rules) and flesh out the domains very nicely.
  14. Re: Bulldozer Curiosity I think I like the 'doubled first blow' effect better myself, as Bulldozer, while stupid, isn't so stupid as to let his guard down once he realizes that dame's actually got a bit of steel in her. Not that it'll do any good, 'cause no one's as strong as he is! :eyeroll: At the risk of introducing stereotypes in a bad way, I'd extend this effect to male characters that Bulldozer thinks are effete or, let's put it bluntly, 'faggy'. They might be openly gay, or they could just be foppish.
  15. Re: The Ultimate Brick Online submissions thread Wouldn't that just be a whole bunch of Mental Defense, or a Force Wall with Mental Defense? (My copy of FREd is packed up so I don't know if the last construct is legitimate.) Edited to add: My husband noted that in previous Champs games he'd seen Damage Reduction vs. Mental Attacks and maybe even Drain INT as a Damage Shield against Mental Attacks! ("You feel dumber just being in contact with him...")
  16. Re: Doom Patrol Champions Going back to Doom Patrol proper: has anyone tried statting up Danny the Street?
  17. Re: Looking for NEW words of transformation: (SHAZAM, Thunder! Thunder!...) Shazzan. Like many HB cartoons of that time, great Alex Toth designs with fair-to-middling (or worse) plots and voice acting.
  18. Re: He's a WHIMP !!! (My Gripe) And did you say which version?
  19. Re: New powers help I think this would be more like an EB, Indirect, with either OIF (weather of opportunity) or Limited Power (must be in storm). The butter smear, that's a good Change Environment (subtracts from DEX rolls).
  20. Re: How many points?
  21. Re: Villianous Code Name for a Emotion Manipulater Don Juan.
  22. Re: Hero A Day...Sorta... Does he get ticked off when people call him Chilblain?
  23. Re: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen question Huh, I always thought Slan was the seminal "mutants among us" novel, but it looks like Odd John predates it by about a decade...
  24. Re: Why does Nighthawk always get depicted getting the crap kicked out of him? I think it's the flavor text on that one that shows Nighthawk up. The cutlery guy escaped after blinding 'Hawk with a flurry of napkins. For a guy like him that's gotta hurt more than an actual pounding. (I mean, considering he went all Dark and Brooding because, among other things, he got a facial scar that reduced him from astonishingly handsome to merely okay-looking, I suspect Nighthawk doesn't take setbacks well.)
  25. Re: what character concepts -HAVE- Gm's allowed that you thought they wouldn't? Maybe he *should* have. Golf club'd work too, in a pinch.
