  1. Re: Why does Nighthawk always get depicted getting the crap kicked out of him? I gotta say, though, I don't remember Seeker getting some of the more *humiliating* thrashings that Nighthawk gets in USPDB. Beaten up by children? Attacked by diner settings? Having a chunk of building fall on him thanks to Deus ex Machina Man or whatever that luck-powered villain was called?
  2. Re: Your Gaming Group's Jargon RLAMF - Run Like A Mother F**ker. The expanded form got genericized to [Verb] Like A Mother F**ker. "Meat Products!" - Usually referred to gore and/or mooks. I think it came out of the old Smash TV game.

    Evil Businessmen.

Re: Evil Businessmen. He's starting to lose his touch bigtime, though. Between the outright flop of The Alamo and the less-than-stellar performance of Home on the Range he's probably in a very tenuous position with the shareholders.

Re: Evil Businessmen. Wot, no Dick Cheney?
  5. Re: Storn Art from idea to full picture I think it'd be funny to see how Irving would end up being drawn but a) it's definitely an animal motif (he IS an animal, at least in shape) and I don't know if there would be a rights issue with the NY Public Library (their site is undergoing revision and is not up today). Edit to add: it's back up. The lions are trademarked by the library, so it might just be a problem.
  6. Re: Silliest Disadvantage Ever Actually, replace "Unearthly Beauty" with "Exudes pheremones" and it sounds, well, at least more plausible...
  7. Re: This clown deserves a Writeup. Well, better Buffo than Ouchy...
  8. Re: Silliest Disadvantage Ever Iggy the Vampire, right?
  9. Re: Bronze Age Team Build Nightcrawler + Changeling = Pooka, a mischievous prankster with the ability to change shape and teleport.
  10. Re: New Character Actually, having this guy BE Adam West-- distinctive voice and all-- would be a scream...

  12. Re: [Fifth Ed Conversion] Villainy Unbound: Phobos and Deimos If they weren't handwritten notes, you might try using a scanner with OCR to get the bulk of the text in (but proofread carefully!).

  14. Re: "Primitive" Disads Actually, if she's survived to adulthood her immune system is probably pretty robust, though as an alien she might be susceptible to unfamiliar Earth diseases (as the very technologically-advanced War of the Worlds Martians were). She might, however, have scars or even an oddly-set limb from injury.
  15. Re: Dealing with Invisible Heroes What is the special effect of his invisibility? If he shifts into another dimension, say, it's quite possible that something *else* in that dimension notices him. See HP Lovecraft's "From Beyond." Also, if his invisibility is 0 END Persistent, let him get whacked with an Area Effect attack... and then not have his companions be able to find him. Bilbo was lucky in the War of Five Armies that he was knocked out and not bleeding to death...

  17. Re: What Would Your Character Do? #66 Irving would be completely oblivious (and immune to any biological-based effect if this is indeed pheremones), but unless he really suspects ulterior motives he tends to let beings who have (seemingly) reached the age of consent do what they wish.
  18. Re: What super hero concepts would you like to see more of? I wouldn't call Captain America 'no powers' exactly...
  19. Re: April Fool's, Champions style Not Diet Crystal Pepsi, though. Ugh, I think that was actually bottled Matmos.
  20. Re: What are the most annoying player habits! [Nexus' story omitted for the sake of my stomach] Perhaps this should become an addition to gamer equipment.
  21. Re: OIHID & Focus : Mutually Exclusive? I think I asked this once a while back, but I can't remember and besides, it's sort of germane to this thread: Can OIHID be bought as a Focus, or would this more appropriately be a Transform bought as a focus? I was thinking of the bracelets G-Force wore in Gatchaman (or, if you're about my age, Battle of the Planets). The team costumes, weapons, etc. can generally be modeled as OIHID, but those bracelets themselves were potentially OIFs or maybe IIFs. I remember Keeyop-- er, Jinpei-- losing his and being unable to go into hero mode until he got it back. Admittedly, this was just one episode, but it could help bring balance to such a character for game purposes. Mind you, the Gatch costumes might actually be better modeled as Transforms, as in later episodes Gallactor figures out a device to force them to change back...
  22. Re: Dark Champions: The Animated Series Just quoting you 'cause your text came up WHITE for some reason. Quite unreadable!
  23. Re: Critique power please Actually, rpg.net is okay-- for non-HERO discussions. Similarly, I don't expect to get deep Ravenloft discussions there when I have wizards.com's boards and suchlike.
