Yes, the phrases "science-based" and "evidence-based" are now forbidden, along with other scary words.

It's become very clear that the catchphrase (punchline) for this administration is 'Who knew that ________ could be so complicated?"

I've bolded the core of the problem.  Kara has more chemistry with Lena than with any of the male characters.

It doesn't appear to have been mentioned here, and more stupid things have replaced it in the news.

Kellyanne Conway defended the immigration ban by citing the "Bowling Green Massacre", a terrorist attack in Kentucky that was covered up by the media.

It must have been pretty easy to cover up, since it never happened.  Two Iraqi refugees living in Bowling Green, Kentucky were arrested in 2009 for attempting to send money and supplies to insurgents in Iraq.  Apparently, that's a "massacre".  She later claimed that she misspoke and meant to say "terrorists" instead of "massacre", but that clearly makes no sense.

"...two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized, and they were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green (terrorists)."
Two terrorists were the masterminds behind the terrorists?

No surprise, she's now crying about people being so mean to her.

How about a nice, non-violent LGBT dance party outside Mike Pence's house.
Unfortunately, he wasn't home at the time.  Or maybe fortunately, considering how he might have reacted.

We already have massive industrial capacity in the US.  We have less industrial jobs due to increased automation and efficiency.  Manufacturing output has more than doubled since 1975, while employment in that sector has declined by about 30% over the same period.  Unless manufacturers are willing to refit with 40 year old technology and/or stop all further advancement, it's a trend that's likely to continue, no matter how many new factories generate temporary spikes.

It's an earlier era, but Pulp Hero specifically talks about how Western characters may have Boxing, Dirty Infighting, Fencing, or even Savate, but Eastern martial arts will be the exclusive schtick of a character who has it as part of their background and character archetype.

"The Gadgeteer has his Weird Science, the Aviator has his plane, the Masked Crimefighter has his eerie laugh; the Character Raised In The Orient has Martial Arts."

In one version of the story, the same accident that made him lose his hair also destroyed the artificial, possibly intelligent, amorphous life form that Luthor had just created in his lab.  He became convinced that Superboy had deliberately destroyed it out of jealousy about his scientific achievements.

The picture I found online of the aftermath of its destruction is a different art style than the picture I posted, so its destruction in the accident is most likely a retcon.  Everything else shows him upset over the accident destroying the irreplaceable Kryptonite antidote he had created using the life form.

It's similar to when Jesse Ventura was running for Governor of Minnesota.  His opponents agreed to let him participate in the debates, expecting him to make a fool of himself, but forgetting that he had decades of experience working behind microphones and in front of cameras, and playing to audiences.

When I saw the thread title, I thought it was going to be about how cosplayers would act in an actual superhero universe.
There was an adventure for the old Marvel Superheroes RPG in which the heroes see the end of a newscast that appears to show the Mandarin threatening a crowd of attendees at a local convention.  It turns out that it's actually a cosplayer who had created an extremely realistic Mandarin costume and was hamming it up for the news camera.
