  1. Your character and possibly his/her associates are in Campaign City Park late afternoon before that night's fireworks display (if they're in the United States, it's for the 4th of July, if not, it's for some other appropriate celebration). Some workers and technicians can be seen setting things up for that evening's festivities. At first, nothing too unusual appears to be going on, but then someone in your group notices something a bit dodgy about one of the fireworks that will presumably be used in that night's display... WWYCD?
  2. Dear Q.U.A.C.K., Q.U.A.R.K., and Q.U.I.R.K., It's me again. I've still had no luck tracking down the source of the problem with Felisha The Fox and the other animatronic characters. For safety's sake, I've disconnected their batteries and told the manager of the pizzeria to consider them out of order until I can sort this all out. I expanded my research to the history of Friendly Foxy's Pizza to see if anyone had some old score to settle with business and its owners. There was one incident in 1986 involving a former employee who claimed to have been wrongfully fired, but the records I've been able to access seem to indicate that he's been dead since 1993, after a fatal car crash. Other than that, I'm pretty short on leads. I still want to find whoever did this; they sabotaged something I created, so it's personal for me. Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated. Charlie P.S.: I'm sending you a photo of the weird symbol via e-mail, it should be in you box right now.
  3. Thanks. And I do see where you're coming from on STR and BODY. Although... The high BODY score is because it's supposed to be a rather large swarm (i.e., completely obliterating it should be a tall order, even for more powerful characters). The extra STR is limited to grabbing and holding; and while it is quite a bit for heroic characters to grapple with, there are still ways they can defeat (or at least, escape from) this thing if they can keep their wits about them.
  4. For those of you who remember the 80s Thundercats cartoon, you'll probably recognize this thing as being very similar to something that was found in Mumm-Ra's pyramid. I added some of my own touches to be sure, though most of the abilities on the sheet are based on what was seen of it in the episode it appeared in and what seemed logical for such a monster have. It could easily be used as an enemy/obstacle for players in a Pulp/Horror campaign if any of the action involves doing a "dungeon crawl" through the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, for example. Feel free to use it in your games, and if you do, let me know how well your players did against it. Magically-Animated Bandages.pdf
  5. Q: "And soon I shall rule the... Hey! What are you do?! Are you seriously texting on your iPhone while I'm monologuing?!" A: Take whatever odds a snowball has of surviving the flames of Hell, and then cut them in half.
  6. Since it's the character transforming himself/herself into the opposite gender, I say it's a Multiform. Incidentally, if it were a Transform to turn others into the opposite gender, Cosmetic Transform would be insufficient for that purpose; I shouldn't have to tell anyone here that the differences between the sexes go WAY beyond the cosmetic.
  7. Sadly, stuff like this doesn't surprise me anymore. It still makes me facepalm, but it doesn't surprise me.
  8. No offensive, but if you really believe the Feds have anymore honor and integrity than the local yokels, you're in the wrong universe.
  9. Interesting. I'd be curious to see how you handled Slender Sickness and converting people into proxies.
  10. Not that The Young Turds actually give a crap about 2nd Amendment rights, for blacks or whites.
  11. Q: What did God last say to the human race? A: "Oh my God! They killed Sean Bean!" "You bastards!"
  12. Personality, I'm in the camp that says if you're trying to smash in my front door rather than politely knocking and identifying yourself, you are about a heartbeat away from a buckshot facial treatment and a (well-earned) Darwin Award.
  13. But unlike the DEA, Heffner actually has class and taste.
  14. Google Glass was an interesting concept, I'll give you that. But in an age when you have the NSA wanking off in their collective pants at the prospect of turning all the world into the @#$%ing Panopticon, it kinda gives you pause.
  15. A funny thing about cops and dogs: If someone kills a police dog, it's treated as if they killed a human officer; but if one of the scumbags in blue kills your family pet for sh*ts and giggles, they can laugh right in your face and suffer no meaningful consequences for their misdeeds. About the only thing that keeps you sane when reading about such incidents is imagining a pack of ravenous hellhounds pouncing on them and ripping them to pieces over and over again throughout all eternity...
  16. Interesting idea, but... Even against a normal human, injecting the tranquilizer in their lower leg isn't an optimal strategy if you're going for a quick ambush and abduction. When someone is standing or walking, their legs are lower than their heart; and thus it's a literal uphill climb for the drug. Not only would it not be an instant sedation, but the target would have more than ample time to scream out for help, run away, or even retaliate after they feel the prick of the needle. Hiding around a corner with a bottle of Chloroform and rag would be a bit more plausible, if somewhat cliched.
  17. Harold Harlington (owner/operator of Harlington's Gold & Pawn) STR 8 DEX 8 CON 8 BODY 8 INT 9 EGO 9 PRE 9 COM 8 PD 2 ED 2 SPD 2 REC 4 END 16 STUN 16 Run 5" Swim 1" Leap 1" Perks/Skills: 10-points worth of Contacts & Favors in the Criminal Underworld (GM's choice); Money: Well Off; CK: Campaign City 11-; KS: The Criminal Underworld 11-; KS: High-End Electronics, Jewelry, And Other Valuable Goods 14-; PS: Appraise 14-; PS: Fence 11-; PS: Pawnbroker 11-; Streetwise 11-; Trading 14- ; WF: Small Arms Disadvantages: Psychological Limitation: Greedy And Amoral; Social Limitation: Harmful Secret (running a fence operation out of his shop) Background: The Harlington family has been running a pawn shop as far back the Great Depression of the 1930s. Harold's father "sold" him the shop in the early 1990s (mostly to get around inheritance taxes) and he's been running it ever since. Personality/Motivation: Harold is not a very pleasant person to interact with; he values little in life besides money and material goods, and he does little to hide what an asshole he is. He thinks nothing of buying and selling stolen goods as long as he turns a profit and his illegal side business doesn't draw unwanted attention from the authorities. Quote: "I'll give you two hundred for it." Powers/Tactics: Harold couldn't possibly stand up to heroes or villains in a straight fight; at most, he might be able to defend his shop from common lowlifes but that's about it (the last meth-addled punk that tried to rob him got a face full of buckshot and a trip to the morgue). If seriously threatened, he'll more likely call upon his "friends" in the criminal underworld to deal with it. Campiagn Use: Depending on which side of the law the PCs are on, Harold is either someone to shakedown for information or someone to fence ill-gotten goods to. Appearance: Harold Harington is a pudgy, middle-aged man who typically wears a black polo shirt embroidered with his shop's logo in gold and a pair of dark blue trousers. He frequently smokes cigars.
  18. For those not in the know, click here. Name: The Slender Man A.K.A.: "The Operator", "The Administrator", "Big Bad Stick In The Mud", "Mister Slim", "The Tree Man", "Tall Dark And Faceless", "Gorr'Rylaehotep", "Slendy" General Description: A tall, faceless supernatural being in a black suit and tie, believed to stalk kids and young adults and be connected to many disappearances there of. Known Abilities: The Slender Man can "hide in plain view," only animals, cameras, and anyone who has seen videos or photos of him can usually see him. He also has the ability to become intangible, as attempts to shoot him have often resulted in the bullets passing through without causing any real damage, and attempts to run him over with a vehicle have similarly failed. He can appear and vanish at will and can bend space and time. His presence also causes audio/visual "distortions" in video, such often being a clue that he is nearby. Also can generate tendrils/tentacles to grab or attack with. Often turns people into "proxies," who then act as his agents; believed by many to be the end result of the "Slender Sickness" some suffer during encounters with him (nosebleeds, nightmares, uncontrollable coughing, and gradual loss of sanity). Motivations: Not well known or understood, although the fact that people tend to vanish and never be heard from again after encounters with him means there is more than sufficient cause to suspect he's malevolent. Ecology: Mostly found in or around wooded areas, rarely enters urban environments unless following someone. Slendy's write-up (5th Ed, of course) is currently on the drawing-board, I'm still doing research.
  19. Ran across this on YouTube. Warning: this WILL disturb and disgust you...
  20. For the PDF with Byron's stats, click here. (Warning: NSFW forum thread in above link. If you're at the office right now, It's best to wait until you get home.) Your character and some friends/associetes are at a party (in Secret Id, if applicable) when none other than the infamous Byron Swain shows up. Predictably, he he goes right to working his charms on the first woman to catch his eye (I'll leave it up to you whether she's an NPC or one of the PCs). Not too long after that, he's heard asking her if she wants to "go someplace more private," and then the two of them are on their way out the door, with Byron's Limo waiting out front... WWYCD? (Edit: the link shound work properly now.)
  21. Sarah Silverman is a frickin' idiot and she was never all that funny to begin with.
  22. Q: What words do the people of North Korean hear from their government most frequently? A: You idiot! You were supposed to throw stones at the infidel, not scones...
  23. Rogue was most likely an NPC, as her powers would be FAR beyond the scope of what's possible with a starting character.
