Yep. Just about any modern word processor can generate a PDF, and has reasonably good layout capabilities. Not as robust as an actual desktop publishing app, but the gap has shrunk a lot.

You can do a lot with just a word processor... I created this PDF by writing a document in LibreOffice Writer (a free take on MS Word) and using their built in PDF converter.

Really bummed, my go to starter Champs adventure has disappeared from the designated location.  Or in other words I can't seem to find it.

Looks like my free time for the next few days will involve digging through boxes and boxes of RPG material looking for my Hero adventure materials.

I really hope I do not have to rewrite it all from scratch

I'm posting this here, my latest blog post on Champions (and the Hero System), because I though that it might help some of the folks currently planning to work on Community Content for Hero. None of it is really mechanics or even anything new for long-time aficionados -- and I'm sure some of you might have other takes.

But in light of many of the gaming trends these days, I think it's important to celebrate the confluence of factors that keep Champions & Hero relevant and -- dare I say it -- unique in the game-o-sphere.

So far so good... most of the feedback has been around how having an image attached to your character makes the character un-loadable.

I need to get back to this project but I've been busy with other IRL stuff.  Work has stopped but I intend on picking it back up soon.

Best thing to happen to HERO System in a long, long time. Thank you, Jason!

(It's funny. I was just looking over the events at Gen Con 2019, and noticed that HERO System was the eighth most popular game there, if you aggregate games run for Champions, HERO System, and Justice, Inc. It had more events than Savage Worlds. Far more than FATE. HERO's a good system that people enjoy. It just needs some love. Hopefully this new program will do it.)

    Hey everyone.

Haven’t been active for many years here, but after a move out of state I might have finally found a group of players for Champions. Not getting too excited about it yet, but figured I’d polish up and see what’s new.

I haven't seen this yet.  Bundle of Holding is offering two more HERO System bundles!

Fantasy Hero 4E & 5E Essentials includes in its Core Collection Fantasy Hero for 5e, Fantasy Hero Grimoire I and II, Monsters, Minions and Marauders, and HERO System Sidekick, all for 5th edition; adding the Bonus Collection gives you Fantasy Hero for 4e, the Fantasy Hero Companions I and II for 4e, Asian Bestiary I and II (5e), Fantasy Hero Battlegrounds, and Map Archive I for Martial Arts and Fantasy.

Fantasy Hero Settings includes in the Core Collection Urban Fantasy Hero, Nobles, Knights, and Necromancers, The Book of Dragons, and Enchanted Items; the Bonus Collection includes The Turakian Age, The Valdorian Age, The Atlantean Age, and Tuala Morn.

Ten percent of each payment (after payment gateway fees) for these two Fantasy Hero offers will be evenly split between the two charities designated by Jason Walters of Hero Games, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Down Home Ranch.

    Thanks Jason!

KawangaKid got a reaction from Chris Goodwin in PowerPuff Girls campaign for my son
    From my blog:

The Powerpuff Girls, it turns out, aren't a pure rip-off of the Kryptonian power set. Each of the girls have their own unique powers -- and that's just from the original series. I won't go into the two other series that have aired since then.

In order to build the girls in the Hero System, I'd follow the following process:
create a base PPG template of powers add in the individual powers and abilities of each girl tweak the stats and complications for a completed character sheet. 1. the Base PPG template
Fortunately, www.writeups.org has DC Heroes character sheets for each of the girls: Blossom Bubbles Buttercup These will not only help to build my base template, but will also help in the next step on how to add in the individual powers of each girl. However, not everything necessarily will be reflected in these stats, so I'd have to go to a Wikia page for an 'in fiction' explanation of those abilities.   2. Individual Powers and Abilities
It turns out that Bubbles has the ability to talk to animals, and that Buttercup is the fastest of the trio, and that Blossom has both fire breath and freeze breath. Thank goodness for fandom wikis which keep track of this sort of thing.   3. Finishing off the character sheet
I'll be honest in that I'll be trying to not only be faithful to the builds based on the two sets of source material above, but I'll also be balancing them against each other, point-wise. This is partially due to my longtime Hero System habits of wanting to know the point totals, but also to show my son how allocation of the same amount of resources can result in very different results... and different options for play.

My son kept asking questions about who could defeat whom when encountering superheroes and video game characters across a variety of media, none of them comics.

so I decided to run Champions for him, with his fave supers, train him in the ruleset, and then eventually have the PPGirls come up against the many different iterations of Superman and family. So far: a damaged Superman robot that was controlled by Mechanon.

also: I plan to use it to teach him about science (villains galore) and math (System and puzzles), which he needs instruction in.

There are many ways to incorporate radio stations into your superhero game. Characters can receive foreshadowing or news reports after the fact, they can be questioned by reporters after an incident, or interviewed in-studio. Now, for the first time, we share the unique logos for the radio stations in San Angelo: City of Heroes!
    Enjoy!
