Re: What Champions Books Would You Like Published in the Future? Some expanded Argent thoughts. If they do the Argent book then they should do something like The Political World sourcebook to follow it up. Various government superteams. Supers and poltics. World laws and the differences between conventional teams and say one working out of China. International UN teams and tie-ins with UNTIL.

I was tinkering around with a Star/Pulp Hero idea of a character who could make minor edits to the existing plot and pull allies, items, etc out of nowhere to save his hide at just the right moment. All 1 time ues kinda stuff. If he drops the gun, says good bye to the contact, etc, it just goes away. (Maybe the GM can pull out the contact again, but the PC can't as an action.) Then I started thinking about a negative version of this were he could apply disadvangtes and flaws as a transformation with No Visable Effect. Gun jams, foe is spotted by police, etc. Is there any way to make a small version of this cost effective for a 200 point game?

*minor spoilers warning* Dear god. Anyone see Cloud'ss 6 part Sword? How would you build that culterly set in HERO terms? 6 seperate blades that can be used in tandum and then linked in many variations for effectivness. A final Buster form, and a number of quick disassemble and use attacks. Lets not forget the final "Limit" he used too.

Re: Psychic Wars Locke: The Superman- Basicaly a cosmic scale psion. Babel 3rd- More of the same. But good source. It's all earth local. Giant Robo- OVA not the TV series. The "Defenders of Justice" are a fun mix of super martial artists and psis.

Re: Psychic Wars Okay a bit more of anime info: Sc-ry-ed - The "alters" are actualy mentaly controled constructs from another dimention. What happened was that years ago an accident happened and the part of Japan called the "Raised Ground" fluxed upwards due to expanding extra dimentional matters entering it. Children born around this time developed a mental defence/reaction that allowed them to summon and adapt to the alien energies. The first Alter users were born. Btw: As the series progresses, the various Alter uses learn to tap more and more into this other world. It's not healthy for human life but they encase themselves in physical manfestions of their mental energy. (Really out there.) Gundam - Universal Centry is a perfect example of highpowered precogs duking it out over long ranges in space. Pilots who just are natruals are 'New Types', due to their evolution to space.

Ninjas have lost a lot of 'cool' factor over the years in the US and a more generic Anime genre book would be nice.

Re: WWYCD: Life is but a Dream Brand X would go looking for birth records. Family. Anything that would hint at a real life that was denied him. If lack of such shows up...then he would start working at getting free of whatever illusion has him. Most of his youth was spent in virutal reality training. He's really good at picking real from unreal.

Re: Anime Champions? Still would be nice to actually see a collection of this in a book. With other ideas on how to flavor any of the other genres. A good kick at games like OVA and BESM that make it out like HERO and such can't do good Anime.

Anyone remember DarkHawk from Marvel? He even recently made a reappearance in Runaways. At first we thought he was gaining a costume and super powers, then some strange transformation. But in the end we discovered he was mind swapping with a body transfer into a cybernetic form. If I was going to simulate this with an item that anyone could use what are you suggestions?

For all the griping this is something I'm curious about. Lets say the only character you 'have' to have in the Avengers is Rick Jones. Let say, he's having another cosmic moment and he needs to make a new modern team. Who would you put in the line up? (Thinking up my own as we speak!)

Re: New Avengers? Personally I like New Avengers run. There' s a lot of thinking going on inside the book. Old plots that Marvel never use to touch on are finally getting looked at. Capt. America dealing with the mutant issue. Spiderman getting more props from the heavyhitters. Capt/Wolve already know he's good in a pinch but honestly if you were going to have an Avengers with Luke Cage, Spiderwoman, etc...you'd need Spidy to balance them out. I just hope they get off of some of the overdone tropes they've been playing on. Super loosing he secret idenity, EVIL government conspiracy (with suprise twist...Spiderwomans involvement in this is a bit tiresome.) Etc. Btw, if you measure in Tbots, New Avengers, Young Avengers, New Xmen...it's a good time to be a Marvel reader.

I would think that information about Military based games, tactics, and historical 'unit' builds would be an interesting supliment. I know GURPS has touched on similar with Special Ops and High Tech...but no one has ever sat down and talked much about tactics (small and large) and how these translate into the HERO system. BTW: Dark Champions did a VERY nice job of this but it feels more on the small urban scale. I've been thinking about WWII type engaugements or some pesuo-future fights. Is there existings web resources?

I totaly forgot my earlier days of system testing. I called it Superman vs Batman! We could build a brick and a streetfighter and pummel each other to death over and over again. The arena game idea sounds great. I might be able to sell that to players.
