  1. Re: WWYCD: I, The Jury The strange thing is that my streetlevel character would be completely appalled(And would have checked the scene, too. Having the ability to see and hear the past in areas can be quite helpful.) Then again, Nox would likely be the one guarding the villian on this. Waiting just outside the house. (Teleportation and watching the inside) Now, if the guy can get past her(Her powers are somewhat well known, but the turn off conditions aren't), then she'd join in tracking him down... or she might be dead, depending on how desperate and powerful he was. (Nox is a total CvK character... which did cause a lot of problems, but what's the point of playing if they don't.)
  2. Re: WWYCD: Give us your huddled masses. Question. What would those of us with knowledge of alien races know about these ships/aliens?
  3. Re: WWYCD: "I, For One, Welcome Our New Insect Overlords" (By the way, it said that the US didn't agree) Crown Princess Cyrande would be upset. How dare they try and start a war with her on the planet. And while they might be more powerful then earth, they definitely aren't more powerful then Malva. Be gone before my father learns of this breach of ettiquete. Nox... would be in a bind. She won't kill any of them, but she'd likely try and work with any resistance that was trying to make them see reason.
  4. Re: WWYCD? "Once more, with Justice" Cyrande would be singing a very dirge like/grand opera song, about how she has to hide her feelings away from everyone. Then she'd likely kill whomever did this, once the rest of the team found them.... aka really, really hates having her feelings revealed. Nox would likely get something 80 movie like, and have a lot of fun going after the person. very inspirational as well.
  5. Re: WWYCD: Let the Hunt Begin!! Cyrande would likely be having a difficult time, simply because her own powers would be acting wierd(unstatted limitation, but given her powers are based off of controlling the full quantum field and it changes in different universes), but she'd likely try just confronting him at first, and if that fails, retreating to regroup. Nox runs. She might be able to find the exit quickly, but I'm not sure how resistant to scrying it is. Other then that, she's in trouble. High defenses for her level, but she doesn't really have much to turn the tables on him.
  6. Re: WWYCD: Attraction Loop Cyrande would be surprised, there's really only two males she's been interested in, one the Superman anolog for her campaign. And everyone would be shocked if he started returning the interest, though Cyrande would definitely act on the attraction. This is where it gets wierd. She wouldn't see anything wrong with it at first, then be horrified she actually victimized someone unwilling. Nox... wouldn't have this problem. She's not attracted to anyone, though the gm might have her teammates start flirting with her... which given two of them have fiancees, would make things very ackward. Sherry is very much the "little sister" of her team.
  7. Re: WWYCD: The Spray's The Thing...(some mature themes) Cyrande wouldn't have been effected(alien), but would be mildly amused that the rest of the team seems to think it's horrid. "Your culture is very repressed. It's nice to actually see them relax." Did I mention she's Malvan? Nox would likely be in human form, and would be terribly embaressed at being caught in this. Though she'd likely help stop the looters after getting a rebreather from Peregrine.
  8. Re: WWYCD-Hurricane Katrina Cyrande would have been better off stopping the hurricane(She could likely disperse most of it over time, her power is energy control). If it was after, she'd likely be helping clean up, creating food and clean water, and putting out the fires, horrified all the while. Nox would be doing rescue and evacuations(teleporter and claravoince would help a lot with that). She'd be horrified, work herself to exhaustion every night, and pray her evil self doesn't take over.
  9. Re: WWYCD: Ignorance is Bliss Cyrande would be... amused that Earthlings found this wierd, and likely laugh at it, maybe send congratulations to anyone that does good pieces, and likely save the artistic ones. Nox would... freak out. As in major freak out. Then again, her hero form is a creature of shadow, that tends to give anyone sane the creeps. And the sex stuff would mostly embaress her.
  10. Re: WWYCD: Don't Say You Didn't Warn You Cyrande would probably freak. She doesn't believe in time travel, except as a theory and seeing her own body would come as a tremendous shock. Especially considering she doesn't plan to be on Earth in the future, and if something can get through Malva's defenses, it is scary. Nox would look at Diomedes with amusement, then look back at the body "I hope she's a good me." as Nox tries to get her to the hospital. If that doesn't work, then it's research time.
  11. Re: WWYCD: Match Made In Hell?? Cyrande? In a bank robbery? She would likely not notice the situation. Nox? She's in trouble. If she survives the encounter(She's on the Viper's "kill" list and DEMON's "corrupt or enslave" list), she'll have to get the rest of her team to help her track down whatever the heck's happening.

    Wwyddiyryc?

Re: Wwyddiyryc? Actually, I have done reboots of campaigns (Mainly D&D and Vampire). The main thing in D&D was different plots, more suitable to the characters. The main thing in Vampire was making one of the main characters of the first campaign which went horribly wrong a villian NPC from the start of the second, and changing things so characters looked more like they turned out. (For instance, one player asked, and recieved, that his character not have Code of Honor, given how badly the other players abused it. I gave him the points anyway, cause he would still mostly play it, just not to the insane flaw level.)
  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... On the less disturbing one this week... "Some men would call it being whipped, but it's actually a finely honed survival instinct." The more disturbing one (Said by the, up to now, cuter then cute eight year old watching her adoptive mother give birth.) "Why doesn't mommy clean them up like the kitty does? They smell like they would taste good."
  14. Re: WWYCD: The Invasion Is On... Crown Princess Cyrande of Malva- "And why do the fools come here again? Be it so, they shall break easily enough." Gives the info to Horus, then using her knowledge of galatic races, gets Earth the help of their enemies. Nox- Passes the information up, fast. If the aliens do land, Nox plays support, given she's a very good teleporter and can slip in and out of nearly anywhere.
  15. Re: WWYCD: Life is but a Dream Cyrande- Um... ouch. You're dealing with someone who comes from such a different culture that she's more likely to grow into a complete paranoid then anything else. Besides, her knowledge of superadvance physics and tech will stand out quite a bit. Nox- would be a bank teller, likely a bit sad and alone. She'd look up Pergrine(which would be wierd, since he'll remember her, but they'd never normally have met), and try to find Diomedes SID. She'd... be torn. Actually gaining the courage to go to college, but she'll be glad so many didn't die.

    CU Laws

Re: CU Laws Hmm, this is interesting to me, given that one of my characters is an alien(Princess Cyrande of Malva). So far, the actual responses have been to do diplomatic immunity, exactly like you'd treat a person of another country. Though, it would also be interesting to see Ironclad's status, lawwise.
  17. Re: What Would Your Character Do #33 Interesting one. Cyrande is an atheist. She'd view it as an interesting human superstition, and follow it avidly, but avoid commenting on it. Nox did die to become superhuman, and is currently host for an evil ghost who's trying to kill her soul and take over her body. Nox's viewpoint is pretty much "Of course we do." Estianna is a metahuman, created when a group of sorcerors tried to turn her infant self into a perfect host for a devil. "Of course I have a soul. It was tattered, but it exists."
  18. Re: How do you feel about Superheroes that kill? This is somewhat interesting to me. I have several champs characters, but only one I'd consider a superhero. Incidently, that's the only one with a CvK. All the rest, even though they have "superpowers", are warroirs, police, or in Cyrande's case, a ruler. Nox, on the other hand, is a superhero. She works her hardest to save lives, to the point where she wanted to go in and rescue an enemy vampire who had been punched into a church. Heck, she's even having a hard time dealing permantly with a ghost that's possessing her, even when she knows that it will turn her into a monster that kills thousands.(Her first reaction to it was "So, is there any way you can bind it to me so it doesn't escape, then put me in stasis?") Why? Because killing, when you have other options, is wrong. And heros always have other options.
  19. Re: Nudity and Sex in comics books Just saw a scene that reminded me of this thread. Marvel Team up 7(Fun book all around, actually), had a very sensual scene between Peter Parker and Mary Jane, with teasing and fun. But most of the scene was done with Mary Jane fully clothed(Peter had his shirt off) and Hugging. I can't think of anything that would have been added from having it be more graphic or more nudity. Anyone else's thoughts on it?
  20. Re: Of course we're criminals. We have to be. I have to say, given Abberant was considered for the longest time the most iron age and realistic setting out there, that even the fact they have a lot of good superheros.. Makes me wonder a bit about some of the answers.
  21. Re: Reality check time: so what about the players' feelings? Hmm. Well, house rules we have tend to be stuff to enforce genre. For instance, KAs have a Standerd Effect on the Stun Lottery, real weapon applies to gun, if the Body of the attack on a real weapon doesn't get through, neither does stun. No KAs for Code versus Killing characters. Frankly, the gms usually put something up for consideration before they make a final choice. Then again, most of the group being Hero newbies, it helps us learn the system as well.
  22. Re: WWYCD: Ascesnsion Cyrande... doesn't believe in gods, would hate them if they did exist, and likely turn them down flat unless convinced it was part of her duty to Malva. Nox... uh. Be very, very flustered. Ask if they got the right member of the team. Unlikely to take something like that unless she was convinced it was nessacry to replace the image of night or shadows. (she's a LG, paladin like, shadowmage. She's been working on changing people's image of shadows as evil.)
  23. Re: Focus = Too Great a Price Break? Note, we just finished a major game session that had both the OIHID character(mine) and the Power Armor character taken out early. Nox(my mainly shadow-magic powered person) had the enemy rig up lights so she couldn't get to or watch the direct battlefield. So her contributions were basically: teleporting our tactitian/MA into town quietly, watching inside the buildings for any surprises, and at the end, after the lights went out, trying to stop one of the villians from pulverizing our downed brick. (Trying as in "The entangle missed, but your playing on his psych lim of honorable made him hesitate") The Power armor guy... well, the "real world" effects of his sfx ended up having him kill twenty+ people, led to him being picked out easily, and dropped easily once someone got to the creamy filling(mentalist). My thoughts on it... well, it's a good thing Nox has mainly been a support character(I've done zero damage. I'm the one that sets up people, does evacs, and intelligence). Also, hearing the gm saying "You have 50 seconds to get her out of here before her armor goes down and she gets her heart shot out."... well, it's scary, and an obvious drawback. I'm not sure how many people play with an as obvious trigger for OIHID as I do(Intense light for a minute, if I'm kept in an area without deep shadows, I can't turn it on, if I have no light, I can't turn it off, which can be a major pain), but it's very effective at shutting me down when the DM needs too. Which brings up something I didn't notice said before. PA characters are not stealthy. What the heck do they do when it's time to investigate or influtrate someplace? Or even the whole "Dressing as the enemy in order to sneak in." cliche?
  24. Re: The Promise and Problems of PBeM Being in one (on hiatus) PBEM and a couple of failed ones... you need to make sure people have their schedules set for such. A once weekly "GM update" should be aimed for, if possible. Really, you have to screen people even more carefully then in a ftf game. And be willing to cut out people who don't meet your rules.
  25. Re: Focus = Too Great a Price Break? Actually, playing a character with OIHID, in the same game as a battlesuit guy, our GM is making us pay for all those points. Though given his way is "Oh, yeah, your enemy can track you through the battlesuit energy signature" or "The enemy spots you by such." And playing the OIHID character that does spend a fair bit of time out of it, there's an awareness there of how vunerable you can be. Knowing VIPER is hunting you is sobering for someone who can't soak bullets all the time. *shrugs* Differing gaming styles. I honestly think the points saved weren't worth the limitation, but the limitation is part of the concept of the character.
