  1. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Found out today that my blood pressure is really good- clocked in at 108/70 when I was at the doctor
  2. Re: What are his powers...? The power to make people gouge out their own eyes after staring at his costume for too long?
  3. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I really need a tire-iron wielding cubicle monkey for work- not because I think anyone's gonna steal shit from my cube, but just 'cause it 'd be funny to see him go around braining people in the callcenter...
  4. Re: Karate Kid vs Karate Kid You Missed
  5. Re: Karate Kid vs Karate Kid I still prefer that Lipton Brick Ice Tea commercial with Bruce Lee fighting the Karate Kid and Mr. Miaygi.
  6. Re: Punisher Vs Batman Just checked up on it, thought NK had killed him but no he did suicide stopping a weapon/device but only after being severely beaten by NK.
  7. Re: Punisher Vs Batman I think he's talking about how Nemesis Boy Was able to use his power to copy and improve on Karate Kid's non-power power and then beat him to death. How exactly does that work when Projectra is then able to beat him in hand to hand by not using her powers and break his neck? KK's skill was not a power, so how was NK able to dupe it? It still doesn't make sense and trying to figure it out makes my brain hurt...
  8. Re: Batman vs Midnighter Yeah that's why Batgirl has done something no one else ever did- beat SHiva in a straight up fight. She'd read Midnighter's body language while he tries to "scan" the battle in his head but he would not be able to read her- he would not sense any implants or powers from her, since she is human, but his battel computer would not be able to compensate for her ability to read him like a book.
  9. Re: Batman vs Midnighter Well I like Batman and even the "Bat-God" version that so seems to bother some people here, but either one of them would get their teeth handed to them. I will say this though, Midnighter would not be killing Bats, just beating him. And the Rematch would be VERY different story, once Bats can plan and prepare some. A better initial fight though would be Midnighter vs. Batgirl, who would I believe would eat Midnighter's lunch...
  10. Re: Cyborg and mental powers Exactly what I was going to say about the lim for being affected by both classes. Maybe some low mental defense and also 50% reduction due to the dual nature of his brain.
  11. Re: Global Guardians PBEM: 3 Immediate Openings Well Jack, I finally thought up an idea for a character that might fit the game but it will not be done in time due to scheduling. I came up with Avro, a Canadian Master Archer with trick arrows, so named as a joke on the Avro Arrow plane. Maybe I'll submit him the next time that you have submissions.
  12. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics
  13. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics Comparing them to Liefield is an insult to children and stupid people...
  14. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics Well that just shows that none of your players were inventive or intersted in the possibilities the character presented.
  15. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics See, lots of people don't giver Angel any credit- he was the most weell-rounded of the original X-Men and had cool, albeit not as dangerous, powers. He could fly(cool), had eagle-sharp vision(I wear glasses, so that's cool to me), he was handsome, charming and rich- what's not to like? Something that I think that people overlook with Angel, and Falcon as well, is that they weren't just fliers(is there any such thing?), they were extremely good fliers, skilled in aerial combat and with very good control over their flight- this would translate into enough skill levels with flight to have a zero turn mod as well as levels with aerial combat(hand to hand levels, only in flight, -1/2). Although Angel may not have been as deadly as some in a fight(although see the beating he lays on Wolvie when Wolvie was Death), he is one of the few X-Men that can afford to bankroll his own hero team as well as being the head of a large Corporation. Give the man some respect please...
  16. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics And that is your right, you're just wrong is all...
  17. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics Nightcrawler is actually prehensile feet and tail, nightcrawling, darkness invisibility, enhanced agility, and the teleporting. If anything, his teleportation is the secondary mutation. Wolverine- Not sure how the powers are linked, except that he was originally intended to be an almost vampiric mutant, according to something I read by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum. Magneto- yeah, Lee did dort of go off on tangents sometimes to make things fit what he needed for a story.
  18. Re: Gadget Modeling Question Okay, I remember that go-around back in my cubist days, I was on your side in that one- his way of doing it, frankly IMO, is retarded.
  19. Re: Gadget Modeling Question
  20. Re: Crosspost: defenders of macob city As far as EB attack goes, does SFX matter? What about Painkiller, with her "anaesthetic touch" (NND EB, No Range, vs. full coverage armor or chemical immunity)- would this be allowed? I guess what I'm asking is will allowances be made for interesting ideas?
  21. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics All "Secondary Mutations" are is comic parlance for "radiation accident"- a way for established characters to start spending their stored experience in new and different directions rather than just as a natural extension of their existing abilities. I must say that Emma turning to diamond and Hank becomeing leonine in nature annoys, but I've seen a lost worse things over the years.
  22. Re: Calling Marvel fanatics You heard wrong- When it comes to X-Men, Whedon's a hack.
  23. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Doing to a dinosaur what Mightybec does to sheep?
  24. Re: Best way to Build Cap's Shield? Ah true, but in the case of Cap, they also have one of the world's greatest combatants along for the ride, meaning that grabbing and yanking away that shield is going to nigh impossible, hance why i would use OIF, due to the unlikelyhood of anyone getting the shield from Cap. But that's just the way I look at it.
  25. Re: Best way to Build Cap's Shield? Ki-Rin, the "campaign" that I was specifically talkin about was the Marvel Universe as protrayed in comics. Cap has taken hits from the Hulk, Gladiator, Thor, etc. and not been stunned senseless, which he would be with 20/20 armor, 10/10 body armor, 10PD and 30 Con- and that's only with an average roll, remember that attacks on that level can do upto 120 stun. Yes Force wall is a SFX based power use, but one that much more accurately represents the way the Shield works. Anyone can use a universal focus to missle deflect, so actually putting usable by others on there still makes no sense. If the shield were so unwieldy as to be bulky, then there's no way that Cap would be able to throw it 60 feet and accurately hit anyoe, no matter how strong or agile he is. You can throw a shotput that far if you strong enough, but you won't be able to hit anyone with it. Once more, Oihid is not appropriate and it is illegal to put onto something that is already Oif anyways. Cap always got HIS shield back, meaning that whoever else got it never got to keep it, why? Because it is not Independent, that's why- he may have to quest to get it back, but he always will. He's not buying a new shield, he's getting HIS Shield back. I suggested that you were disregarding any suggestions given because that's what you've done- nothing posted has seemed to shake how you would construct the Shield, which is fine I guess if you don't want to change. However, if you ask for feedback/assistance the the least you could do is give some consideration too what is offered to you. But then, YMMV.
