  1. Re: Like Jazz Ignore the last attempt. I need to work on my formatting, but I am too tired to work on it tonight.

While playing around with his trombone he discovered ways of using his musical talents for soften villains up for easy exploitation. Using his abilities he decided to fight crime and would eventually join the Regulator where he received advance crimefighting training. Personality/Motivation: Like Jazz is fun loving and loyal. He likes to entertain. When he is playing his horn, he is telling stories and jokes and generally acting up. He does have a love for the occasional friendly prank. Quote: Better to dead and cool than alive and uncool. Powers/Tactics: His favorite tactic is to get his opponents' toes tapping to leave them open his opponents. Appearance: Like Jazz is an African-American man who dresses in a dark blue leotard-style uniform with a light blue 8th note on the chest. He carries a small trombone in a holster at his side. Designer's Notes: The Regulators are team of mostly street level crimefighers who until recently had the reputation of being little more than a neighborhood watch in tights (Mostly ranging from competent normal to low powered super hero with a few exceptions). They were well-liked but not necessarily respected as heroes. Unbeknown to the general public, the legendary hero known as the Cardinal, along with a handful of other semi-retired heroes, have started training the Regulators to be more effective and using their influence to build up the teams technical and monetary resources.
  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... As my real name is Rondale. I'm kind of interested in the character of the same name.
  4. Re: Need a name for a windy character Rolling Thunder Nimbus Any source from myth: http://www.pantheon.org/articles/g/gods_of_the_winds.html
  5. Re: Sidekick 6E - Base Form I don't have Hero Designer (though it is on my to buy list); so, I can not comment on that, but I do agree that more templates for common NPC types would making campaign and adventure design a lot easier.
  6. Re: Like Jazz Thanks! That's what I was thinking, but I was wanting a consensus. Though I am primarily working on NPC's for a hoped for game to run and thus I could technically make de facto NPC rulings to keep it simple, I am also working on my character building skills so I can help potential players and to make usable PC's should I ever get a chance to run a character in someone else's game.
  7. Re: Help with Adding Damage It seems to me that using powers from multiple MP's is primarily a game feel issue and is only imbalanced if unequally applied. If PC's get to use them that way, so do the NPC's, and vice versa. I can see how such uses could easily turn into a battle of the giants and how that would be inappropriate in some campaigns, but I see no reason to have this as a universal rule.
  8. Re: Hero GUI As someone who is a new player and trying to learn the system, my biggest problem is linking the right combination of characteristics and powers to the desired advantages and limitations. Consequently, a single table that indicates what advantages and limitations work with which powers would be wonderful. It would greatly reduce the amount of time I spend flipping back and forth between pages. For that matter, having all of the character creation tables relatively close together would be great.
  9. I am trying to make a low powered street level super for a semi-comedic game as a potential NPC ally named Like Jazz (as in "Cool, like jazz"). Anyway, I am trying to give him powers with a focus as horns of opportunity. I know how to make the core power, but I have defined that he always carries a small trombone in a holster by his side. How much would it cost to have the trombone? Would it merely be a 0 point focus since it does nothing else accept acts as a ready focus for his primary powers?
  10. Re: How to make a Spirit Material. Why not build the bodies as summoned objects that are formed and inhabited by the spirit beings?
  11. Re: Career Templates Basically, I am looking for short cuts to round out characters and NPCs by giving them career packages that makes sense. I know that most careers would do with an appropriate PS skill, but some career types would seem to require more than just a PS: Cops would need to be able to use guns and drive squad cars, astronauts would need to be able to fly spacecraft and know various science and engineering skills and such.
  12. If I were looking for more modern era career templates, what supplement should I look for?
  13. Re: Calling all Green Lanterns I am currently working on Crimson Aura. Though not a perfect copy, she has many similar powers as Green Lantern.
  14. Re: What third party Hero products would you like to see? I pretty much agree with steriaca on all points, but I would game world books for the various sub-genre categories.
  15. When I imagine what kind of characters to make with the system, the first ideas that come to mind is for heroes, but if I am ever to play the game, I am likely going to have to be a GM and will need a lot more villains; so, I am re-envisioning some of my heroes as villains. Am I the only one that does that? If not, how does it work out in general?
  16. Re: Can Only Attack With Powers That Attack Him It would sure suck if he got hit by a cream pie right before attacking the main villain.
  17. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Aliens vs The Love Boat "Oh no! They got Gopher."
  18. Re: Disaster Rules? If I run a campaign set in my state, you would need to add tornadoes and lightning storms. Earthquakes would also be a good one.
  19. Re: A new Enemies book: What would you want to see? I'm still new to the system and hadn't read any of the older villain books yet; so, I may be requesting things that already exist, but I would be interested in themed villain groups like the Salem Seven and The Serpent Society of Marvel and The Royal Flush Gang of DC.

  21. Re: Social Club of Outstanding Adventurers (or some less absurd) Don't forget, circus folk and wild west performers would make good character fodder for pulp era adventures. Also, the action picture hero turned real hero type.
  22. Re: Mister Invisible Sure, I can. It won't be right away. RL causing time and energy restraints and all that.

Fire/Heat Cosmic Electrical Sonic/Vibrational Temporal Kinetic Gravitic Magnetic Magical Cold Darkness (Okay, cold is technically the absence of heat and darkness is the absence of light, but they are typically considered existent any many fantasy and weird science tales.)
