  1. Re: Hero System Good Idea/Bad Idea... Good Idea: Micronauts Hero Bad Idea: Microsoft Hero And hey, I liked Changeling. The hardcover edition's magic system was a lot better than the stupid cards from the softcover. I liked Mage too.
  2. Re: Superbeing Rights Debate Of course that's a common trope in I.D.I.O.T. plots, but that doesn't mean it's mandatory for cloning stories.
  3. Re: Naruto Hero Yeah, it's pretty standard anime stuff from Ninja Hero. I wouldn't even add "gestures" or "restrainable" into the manuvers, because nobody ever actually attacks somebody while they are standing there wriggling their fingers. Or at least not the shows I watched.
  4. Re: Implementing a magic system for Garrett, PI Except for, the Dead Man. He uses a lot of traditional "psionic" powers. Mind Control, Mind Reading, stuff like that. But again, he's mostly a Plot Device. Then there was the Sorceror v UFO battle in Angry Lead Skies. Pretty high powered, but the Garret was just a spectator.
  5. Re: Superbeing Rights Debate You seem to be conflating a couple concepts here, and assuming that ALL clones work the same way. If you clone an adult human, you end up with a zygote. It still has to be born and raised, and taught, for ~18 years before it becomes an adult. If you have some sort of "Clone-O-Mat" tech where you can insert tissue sample, and 60 seconds later something pops out that is fully adult, and visually indistinguishable from the donor, that's not a clone, that's just duplication with a "cloning" special effect. We'll call that an Identical Duplicate Incorporating Organic Technology (or I.D.I.O.T.). If that's the way things work in your campaign, that's fine, but you are assuming that it always has to work that way in every campaign. Cloning =/= I.D.I.O.T. If you want to read a good story about clone replacements and such like, I recommend "Brothers in Arms" and "Mirror Dance" by Lois McMaster Bujold.
  6. Re: Anyone run a Starcraft setting There are specifically "brain bugs" mentioned in the book. Operation Bug House was specifically mounted to capture one or more of them before the invasion of the Bug homeworld. The humans had psykers who were able to locate the underground tunnels and tell the MI where to go.
  7. Re: Who Watches The Foxbat? It's been done. I'm sure you guys knew that, but other people might be scratching their heads.

    Foxbatmite

Re: Foxbatmite Isn't it 24th and a halfth century? err, dimension?
  9. Re: Who Watches The Foxbat? Is there a master list of Champions Universe good guys? I've seen several reference lists of villains. I'm trying to think of somebody that would be a good Dr. Manhatten, but drawing a blank. Oh yeah, and the Space Pirate Amazon Ninja Foxgirl watches Foxbat.
  10. Re: Bolt, the super dog Now that the DVD is out, I thought I'd bump this in case anyone has something to add. Who wants to do Super Rhino, as per the special feature?
  11. Re: Going to be running a Teen Champions game... I've always thought that a Teenagers From Outer Space inspired Teen Champions game could be fun. You can get a TFOS pdf from Drivethrough RPG for a pretty reasonable price.
  12. Re: Which is better for a beginner: Champions or Dark Champions? Sidekick, Sidekick, Sidekick. If you guys have never played before, you definately want to start with Sidekick. It's the Easy New York Teenybopper version of Hero, and leaves out the most complicated bits. If you want to do Superheroes, you can also take a look at PS238, which is based on the comic, and features middle school super heroes.
  13. Re: Can't see through your clothes Not Cotton, Air.
  14. Re: Shadowcats Vehicular Insanity Shop: The Strangest Submarine design Frankly, the ecological niche for ballistic missile submarines is pretty damn small these days. Vertical Launch Tubes are standard equipment in attack subs these days, and if they launch ballistic missiles in addition to the cruise missiles that are frequently used, why not?
  15. Re: superuseless superpowers Personally, I have the power to give a person a nosebleed by staring at him. "A person" as in a singular specific person, one of my friends from high school. I use it sparingly though, with miniscule power comes miniscule responsiblity. Minor Transform, Mr M. to Mr M. with bleeding nose, extra time (1 minute) concentrate (no other actions), only works on a specific target.
  16. Re: Star-spawn gunslinger I wasn't November 1st, 1938 was it?
  17. Re: Why do the Champions waste so much time being "good citizens?"
  18. Re: Cristmas & Cthulhu Well, I've got a couple of ideas for Frostilicus, The Great Cold One, aka "Frosty". But just background, no power sets besides cold. Santa could probably be done as a Super Patriot archetype with christmas themed powers. The polar regions are often a hot-spot of eldritch activity, so if we assume that the initial incursion erupted at his base, it could be wiped out, as was previously mentioned. Perhaps one of the elves was trying to improve efficiency a bit too much... Somebody else will have to do the Jingle Force Five though.
  19. Re: Bolt, the super dog And a bonus "Baby Bolt" for your PS238 campaign. You could bump him up a little for Teen Champions as well. 21. Re: Build my Computer! 5 pts is for your PC, stereo, TV, telephone, etc. All that "misc crap". But yeah, I probably wouldn't bother charging for it anyway.
  22. Re: Need Premade Character for Beginning Player! If you have the Champions sourcebook, just use the New Champions from the back of the book, and change the names. They are all designed to be used as starter characters. If you don't have the Champions sourcebook, get it.
  23. Re: Build my Computer! You know, you can go overboard with stating everything out. IMO actually creating computer stat sheets should be reserved for super-computer/AI level systems, not a mere desktop PC. Do you stat out the TV that they watch the news bulletins on? Sometimes you can just say "mmm, yeah, 5 points for misc mundane crap in the base."
