  1. Re: Abbot and Costello Meet Doctor Destroyer Your next assignment, should you choose to accept it...
  2. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore My dad and I went to the one in Amarillo once. We split one of the "single order" meals between us and still couldn't finish it. That bacon sushi looks pretty tempting though. Maybe every six months or so.
  3. Re: The Atlantean Age So where is the Atlantis Language Familiarity chart mentioned on pg 89? You'd think these threads would be a good place to post errata, or at least links to them.
  4. Re: Submarine that sails on land Well, only the part below ground is desolid, so it can sail down the street. But the part above ground is solid, so you can stand on the deck and use your blaster gun, or powers or whatever. If you go entirely submerged, you could, for instance go into a bank, and stick the conning tower up in the middle of the vault. But you couldn't bring the whole sub out because it's too big. It would have to be a variable advantage, because you'd want from 100% to say, 75% coverage at various times. And falling down in a big cavern wouldn't be a problem, because you can just sink into the floor when you get down there.
  5. Re: I'm not sure how to get the PCs together! "I'm sorry, we wanted a Block of Flats, not an Abbatoire." Improbable plot coincidence is one of the GM's best friends. "You are all traveling around the city in your daily wanderings, and happen to be right outside the Museum, when it catches fire, falls over, and sinks into the swamp."
  6. So, we've got a submarine that can partially dimension shift and "sail" on land. The visual effect would be only the conning tower and deck would be visible, the rest of it would be in another dimension. It can't go through any solid objects that are above the "water line", but it can entirely submerge and basically go where ever you want. I was thinking either Desolidification with partial coverage, or just a lot of tunneling.
  7. Re: Sovereign vs Dr Destroyer Yes. However, his personal power hasn't gone up that much, mostly it's in bases, followers, equipment & vehicles. There's an even MORE powerful version of him listed also, as well as the Destroyer Lite (lower powered). Destroyer Lite: Characteristics Cost 408 CKC Dr D: Char Cost 489 Regular Dr D: Char Cost 539 Destroyer High Octane: Char Cost 752.
  8. Re: Book of the Destroyer: Destroyer v. Takofanes Sure you can, it's easy. Just look at the way it's spelled and pronounce it oppositely.
  9. Re: Sovereign vs Dr Destroyer I don't think CKC Dr Destroyer would have much problem with Sovereign going Mano a Mano. Now a more interesting matchup would be Book of the Destroyer Dr Destroyer going up against Mechanon 3000. Those two going at it would be more on the scale of interplanetary war than a battle though.
  10. Re: martial Arts Comedies Geeze, 4 years and nobody has brought up Ranma 1/2 yet? "Spring of the drowned Womp-Rat" for the win!
  11. Re: What Non-Fiction Book have you just finished? Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy by Vincent Bugliosi. Over 1600 pages of small print on why all the various conspiracy nuts, are in fact, nuts. Right now I'm working on a twofer I got at Costco for ten bucks; The Illustrated A Brief History of Time & The Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen Hawking.
  12. Re: The Silence of the Catgirls or too much realism in fantasy I've had a concept for a Fantasy Heroes campaign I've wanted to try for a while. The heroes are a Special Magic and Tactics team for an empire that's locked in a struggle with a lot of enemies. I'm hoping to eventually (fairly quickly) reveal that the reason they have a lot of enemies is because they are *the* Eeeevillll Empire, run by an eternal undying (and totally insane) ruler, and Vampires, Liches & Necromancers handle most of the adminstration of the Empire.
  13. Re: Weird villain idea. I need some input on. To make him more limited, can only change into the last person touched, and if he changes back to normal he has to go back and touch them again. A related power could be "Telepathy usable only on Dead People". He'd make a standard telepathy effect roll to read their memories, etc. Learn their bank account numbers, PIN, where they buried their dubloons and stuff like that there. Modified by time since death to make it harder.
  14. Re: Kung Fu Animals I was going to recommend Jadeclaw as well. The system is a little shaky, but it has a whole ton of background & setting info. You could easily make the different careers into Package Deals. They handle the "food problem" by making lizards non-sentient. Except for snakes.
  15. Re: THE BOOK OF THE DESTROYER: What Do *You* Want To See? What?! This is an outrage. We demand more Foxbat!
  16. Re: PS238 Best Game of 2008! I wasn't sure if anybody was going to recognize it. Of course the New Millenium Edition doesn't need any stinkin' errata.
  17. Re: A campaign for my kids I was going to mention that too. For the most parts, kids don't want to act their age. You get 10-12yos watching the stuff like Hanna Montana & That's So Raven (young teens), you get young teens watching stuff like Dawson's Creek or The OC. Usually if they play let's pretend, it's one age step up. So, Teen Champions might be a better fit. If you're not too obvious you might even be able to sneak in some real life RP'ing about smoking and drugs and etc. Not that I personally have kids, but my sister has a whole passle of them. One more thing... "Galactic Teen Champions"
  18. Re: Set the WayBack Machine for: I should still have a copy of it around somewhere. Heck Steve Jackson games just re-issued GURPS Autoduel (2nd Edition) a couple years ago. I dunno though, while changing a tire should be an every-man skill I'd think you'd at least have to have familiarity with auto mechanics to change the oil.
  19. Re: THE BOOK OF THE DESTROYER: What Do *You* Want To See? Good, it will give you a little something extra to include in the Hero Designer character pack.
  20. Re: PS238 Best Game of 2008! Aztec Motorcycle Wrestling Nuns vs Kung Fu CB Mamas on Wheels. New Millenium edition.
  21. Re: The Worst character in comics Worst. Retcon. Ever.
  22. Re: The Worst character in comics Ugh. I can't believe nobody has mentioned Lobo. He was practically single-handedly responsible for making me stop buying superhero comics when he came out. He was like an infection that just kept spreading into other titles.
  23. Re: PS238 Roleplaying Game Oh, it's out. Even after I bought my copy, the FLN game store had at least one more left.
  24. Re: PS238 Roleplaying Game So, is there a Hero Designer Template for PS 238 coming out soon, or should I post my interim/partial one up on the web site?
  25. Re: help flushing out skills for Teen Champ Character. You might want to throw in a couple Cultural Knowledge skills, but yeah, that's a lot of useful skills for a 14yo. p.s. I'm pretty sure you mean "fleshing" out, not "flushing" out.
