  1. Re: Project WyrmStar: What have you pre-ordered? It might be helpful to ask "Will I receive a pdf?" before you assume that you won't receive one and start insulting people.
  2. Re: Which export format do you like to use at conventions? I'm in much the same situation. My to-do list includes learning to make my own export formats. May take a while....
  3. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine More post-apocalyptic craziness for my Kazei-5/Mad Max/zombie-hunting mash-up: Escape From Outbackistan The Bush Pilot: an ex-astronaut determined to return to orbit. He's always scrounging for parts to build his own orbiter. It keeps blowing up, but that just makes him mad. He's actually a good pilot. Crazy, though. Yeah, Bruce Spence *will* play him in the movie.
  4. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread Got the go-ahead to redesign the proximity sensors on our pump controls. This is gonna be fun!
  5. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? I am now listening to Radio Free Zero Zone! (from Kazei 5) Actually it's a playlist on Grooveshark of the same name -- but I can do that.
  6. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine And now for something completely different: A 'Mecha' creator. (Sorry about the *&^%$#@ advert while it's loading.) Of course I had to have some fun with this one... (Ultimate Awesome Mecha spoilered for extreme Mecha awesomeness!)
  7. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I'd call that a Goodyear, but afterwards I'd be really tired.... (repped for straight line potential)
  8. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Not safe for work, but you have to watch this. http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/attack-the-block/red-band-trailer I am seriously looking forward to this one. It's scheduled for "limited" US release 7/29; with any luck at all it'll be showing somewhere near GenCon the following weekend. (I can hope.)
  9. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Thirty-volt normally closed magnetic proximity switches are not exactly a "Radio Shack" item.
  10. Re: Richard Morgan's Market Forces as a Dark Champions setting I read all of Morgan's Takeshi Kovacs novels then found Market Forces when I went looking for more of his work. As far as Hero write-ups are concerned, Forces looks a lot easier to do.
  11. Re: Project WyrmStar: What have you pre-ordered? For my setting, I chose to smash really big rocks into the Earth at 99% C. Nobody knows who did it. Or why. Then the fun begins....
  12. Re: Project WyrmStar: What have you pre-ordered? I've been concerned about this, as well, but OTOH these settings are all over the map, genre-wise, so I'm not sure how many potential buyers would actually be interested in every one of them. Based on what I know about them, here's how I'd classify the list: (a couple I'm not 100% certain of; YMMV) Posthegemony = dystopia Lux Aeturnum = old-school space opera (?) 3rd World = alien invasion Wreck of Alpha Central = post-apocalyptic Widening Gyre = steampunk The Fires of Heaven = mainstream SF (?) Terracide = modern space opera I just noticed there's no military SF entry there, oddly enough. Aside from that, there's something from almost everyone's favorite 'sub-genre' so they can decide which one(s) to buy first -- and hopefully get the rest later if they're into the whole "completeness" thing. I wouldn't mind seeing an "omnibus" pdf version with the whole line-up on one CD, but I'd have no idea what it would cost. I doubt that a print version of that would be feasible....
  13. Re: A Thread for Random Videos No movie this cool will ever play on a screen within a 100 miles of the podunk excuse for a town I'm living in. ROAD TRIP!!!
  14. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Weird Al's UHF was basically an entire movie of random videos: (Warning: fake blood)
  15. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Would the next natural disaster please obliterate Hollywood?!
  16. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Gotta love spanish guitar.
  17. Re: "Neat" Pictures Unapologetic space porn.
  18. Re: The cranky thread I'm sure all your hard work will pay off. Exactly who it will pay off for, I have no idea. If it's not you, then you have every right to be cranky as f**k-all. I speak from experience -- did a whole lot of hard work, and it paid off for a whole lot of people. They didn't give a flying f**k.
  19. I read this last month, and now I seriously want to make a Dark Champions game out of it! Corporate espionage, guerrilla wars, boardroom politics, media manipulation and road rage... looks like an excellent choice for Seared Champions! (see my sig)
  20. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread Gotta love my new laptop. (Would you like to install Firefox?) OH, he!! yeah. And my new wi-fi LANtenna on my old desktop machine doubles as an access point, so I can get online with the laptop from anywhere in the house. I'm no longer chained to my clunky old desk. (Maybe after GenCon I can get myself a nice new desk....) Oh yeah, GenCon! Got my badge, made my hotel reservations. Two months to go and the trip is already half paid for.
  21. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Too old to rock and roll; too young to die.
  22. Re: A Thread for Random Videos The most random thing I could find this evening.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFHjdYoNb_Y
  23. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread The new router is GO! Faster, better signal, and more reliable than the old.... ...just kidding. I'm still online.
