Most of the oil wells I'm supposed to be testing are under I-don't-know-how-many feet of water, and I'm waiting on parts to repair our echometer anyway, so I worked on the billing for last month's seismic survey all day instead. Bean-counting... Bleah.

Re: Kazei 5 character; costume ideas needed! You might want to ask a moderator to be sure, but IIRC, posts from new members are moderated until they reach a certain post count. Nothing serious, just forum policy. And if nobody else told you yet, welcome to the Hero forum!

Re: Driving Under The Radar Images v. sight & hearing: -5 to Perception, Set effect: totally inconspicuous vehicle, Persistent. Anyone looking at the vehicle will still perceive it... but it'll look completely ordinary. This should probably be expanded to effect several hexes, so it covers the whole vehicle. Also, depending on how "foolproof" you want it, the penalty could be higher. If the road trip in question is really long (several days, coast-to-coast, whatever) then I'd go with a -10 to Perception. Otherwise, someone's gonna roll a perfect three and spot the car at some point.

Re: The cranky thread All the roads are under water! Everywhere I go (or try to) there's a road closed due to high water. Turn around, double back, try another route, then find out it's also closed. Give up, change plans, find a grocery store that's open all night an hour from home. I might have enough food to last until the flood's over, now. This is what happens when it doesn't stop raining for a whole *&^%$#@ month....

Re: Kazei 5 character; costume ideas needed! Good catch. Yeah, NCM is a must for this power. I might also put Extra Segment on it -- punching thru 7PD on 15 points would require any normal attack power to use a 'haymaker' maneuver.

Re: Only while asleep The OP didn't specify "always" he said "only" which doesn't mean it always works. And where's the implication in his post that there is any control over the power? He didn't say anything of the kind. Nor did he say whether the power was persistent (like regen) or not. Not enough information.

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine For Kazei 5: from an alternate 'post-apocalyptic' future in the K5 universe. Low-powered Esper turned Street Samurai, as of yet I don't have a name for this one. Her character sheet is progress. She carries an authentic nodachi and a Remington Stormbreaker; she studies Kage-Ryu, her hair's green and she has no fashion sense whatsoever. (And apparently, she knocks holes in brick walls!) I think I might call her "Bad Penny." I know what you're thinking: when she runs out of ammo, how's she gonna hold up her pants?

Re: Only while asleep I'd consider "only when asleep" to be somewhat more limited than "no conscious control" which is normally a (-2) limitation. It's not likely a character can control a power that only works when they're asleep, and unlike the usual "no conscious control" limitation, there's no chance of the power activating when he's awake, which is about 2/3rds of the time in most cases. Maybe -2 1/2 or -3.

I'm working on a Kazei 5 character: a low-level (female) esper who becomes a street samurai. And I'm completely drawing a blank on costume ideas. This character will appear in the "Escape From Outbackistan" adventure at GenCon, so there's also a bit of post-apocalyptic/zombie-slayer genre cross-over involved. Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanx heaps.
