  1. Re: Converting I peffer making them walk on their own collections of d4s, barefoot. Those things are just as nasty as caltrops.
  2. Re: [Cha. & PH] Puzzles, Codes & Traps Deduction is your best skill-friend. Other than that, don't hurt your head over the authenticy--just figure out what it might look like if it was thunk up by those people.
  3. Re: Converting My rough and ready is basically the eyeball method, when it comes to D&D. Fantasy HERO just works out better, IMO, so I figure out the background/effect, nothing more. For example, if you want to do pre-built generation lists, I'd take 15 point for a race, and 40-50 for a basic "class." Go see the Fighter variants--the two I submitted are from Sword & Fist, and Masters of the Wild, respectively. It's so much easier just to do the concept, and not the mechanics...
  4. Re: Looking for some "names" *points to his creation history for the Eight Sages* Zhu, translated into Mandrin, means "deep". In my world, she's defined as the second of the two most primal beings that appeared at the beginning. She is considered the source of all demons of that world, and has left her mark in the myriad punctures in the darkness that the mortals call 'Night.'

Re: Elves Topicwise, you're on Alpha Centauri, buddy.
  6. Re: Converting Please note that what World of Darkness conversions out there is incomplete, and can do with a better write up. Right now, I'm just trying to set up a foundation for me to throw it up on the web, but I'm primarily focusing on the WW:tA series. One of the things that struck me as interesting is the resolution method--based on successes, which is easy to do in HERO as how well you did beyond the target number you rolled. I'm still fiddling with the wetwork on Skills/Talents/Knowledges, but given the flexability of the system, I'd have to adopt the same through fiddling with HD2. Bleah. At least COM can now play an important part, huh?
  7. Re: WWYCD: The Campion Protocols CrashTest would defintly hunt down some of the "independent" ubers and convince them to try and help defeat them. See, I figure that the independents are a less priority compared to actual teams, in regards to the Protocols. Thus you'll have a lot of empty spots regarding some of the lesser-known ubers out there.
  8. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... ...my bunny is better than his bunny. Interesting for him to say that, though...
  9. Re: The Champion Protocols (ie how to take down your character) I'll have to think about this for a bit for the Hero City team... I run CrashTest, a kinetic speed-brick there. It wouldn't be in his Psych makeup, but it would be a useful intellectual exercise...
  10. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game ...I have a 24ish sitting around on Justice... And what's with the double XP weekends? I use those to score extra honor in the appropriate BG in WoW, since those last longer...
  11. Re: Help! I'm stuck in a disad rut! Arachnos Jones desires some more of these crunchy hissing roaches in this brown sauce. Extra tip if you could also refill my Chardonnay...
  12. Re: Help! I'm stuck in a disad rut! I'm working on a rather interesting character as a kick... and he has the Phys. Disad: Insectivore. Yeech.
  13. Re: What are _____ like in your game? Oh noes! Deep for me not, for I shall be a-swell with retribution, and all my harbor against you shall rain upon your crest!
  14. Re: What are _____ like in your game? I weep at your attempt to chip the trut-ber our of our dirty hands in the garden of inconsitancy. Have mercy on our soil, for we have mulch to do and little lime to do it in. *gags at the gags he perpetrated*
  15. Re: How would you (why the heck would you) build this power? Nah, it's no different than Captain Freespeech and his dimensional belly button that holds his gagets (and plenty of Mostess Crust-less Fruit Pies.) I'm not gonna even show you his picture, but he's a superheroic running gag elsewhere for us. The difference lies in the source of the gagets in question--I think it's best to build it as a kind of summons and use the base points to build the rest.
  16. Re: more PRE related powers One of the thoughts going through my head while thinking of PRE powers lie within the context of my WW:tA conversion. More specifically, there is a Gift that a Rokea (wereshark) can learn, called Parting the School. The effect would be something like an Enviromental Movement: Crowd or Desolid (Only Against A Crowd) that works on a sucessful PRE roll. Wouldn't that be a nice power to have? Instantly dissapear through whatever press you'd like without using Invisibility.
  17. Re: What are _____ like in your game? Boobies are good, too... but it's a lot harder to catch the ladies, if you get my drift...
  18. Re: Creature conversions - anyone interested? Speaking of conversions... once I actually finish this WW:tA/5e conversion, I want to grab my Draconomicon and the Dragon mags I specifically ordered to whap up some dragon conversions based on size.
  19. Re: What are _____ like in your game? The gibblets? *runs away really fast*
  20. Re: What are _____ like in your game? Perhaps it's better to play the Race Game in terms of what others see them, or how their culture plays off their usual strengths and weaknesses. For example... one could say that the Tiger-kin bears similarity to Elves in the sense that they are both noble, yet flighty or tempermental, due to their connection the element of Sky, associated with emotion control. (Their Gift is the ability to slightly alter one's emotional perception for a short while, like an aura.)
  21. Re: Your Character: The Series (Not exactly WWYCD...) Dinosaur is obviously Iron-Age, and wouldn't hesitate to bury the bodies in the swamps if it was his best option. That being said... it's possible to do his life as a kind of grittier Swamp Thing show...
  22. Re: [sigil Campaign] Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics Try squeezing him. Mebby that'd tell you if he's ripe yet. >) Keep going, it's a good story.
  23. Re: Reality TV and your Hero The New Defender game that my GM ran is pretty much one. If you went to Origins and played there, two words: Chuck Norris.
  24. Re: Usagi Yojimbo Hero Thanks for the clarification.
  25. Re: WWYCD: The Breakup Khronos would just sit on the nutcase until he gets a clue. Given that he's a growth brick... that'd do nicely. He can even attempt to "persuade" him by doing a little judicious minor magic on the guy's mind, to repell him from the ex-girlfriend. (Of course, if it's a mentalist... there's not much he can do in the first place. )
