1. Re: Whirlwind Attack! Since I have HeroDesigner up... I'll just drop this in here. It can stand to be improved, but the idea was stolen from Samurai Legend Musashi--it's for a FH pirate-styled character with an enchanted sword. 7 Monarch's Own: Multipower, 30-point reserve, (30 Active Points); Only Useable by Attuned User-- Power does not work in Ubiquitous Circumstances (-2), OAF (-1), Gestures (-1/4) - END= 1u 1) Falchion Damage: Hand-To-Hand Attack +2 1/2d6 (13 Active Points); Hand-To-Hand Attack (-1/2) - END=1 1u 2) Maelstrom: Hand-To-Hand Attack +3d6, Personal Immunity (+1/4), Difficult To Dispel (x2 Active Points; +1/4), Explosion (-1 DC/2"; +3/4), Nonselective Target (-1/4) (30 Active Points); 1 Recoverable Charge (-1 1/4), Hand-To-Hand Attack (-1/2), Required Hands Two-Handed (-1/2) - END=[1 rc] I was planning on tightning it up, though--some spots don't make a lot of sense now, but that may be a quirk of HD2...
2. Re: Help: powers for the super heroine Maxima. I kinda see her being able to do Asorbtion attacks to boost her natural caharateristics. Nothing too game-damaging, of course; she is meant to be a brick. Perhaps do a PD Asorbtion, only against natural PD?
3. Re: The Analyze Skill Let's veer off slightly here. I was thinking about a way to allow a rogue to get a quck estimate of a pile of treasure, and attempted in HeroDesigner to see if I could attach an Explosion onto a KS: Valuables skill... Then I found this thread, and realized right off that an Analyze Treasure skill would be perfect! You wouldn't need to actually do an estimate--you'd only need to spot the least valuable stuff to winnow out, and haul the rest back with you. And if you needed to do it in a split second... make it a Find Weakness, for those times when you only have a minute between patrolling guards...
4. Re: best place to look for riding The Ultimate Vehicle Handbook has all the rules about vehicular combat. Simply apply Combat Driving to the equine in question.
5. Re: Things I learned playing a Thief A better way to play the "Rogue" is to take on a "Troubleshooter" mentality. Stealing things is fun, but when you can place the blame on someone else, it becomes a lot more fun! Make sure you have all the tools you need on hand. It's bad enough when you have to improvise to disarm a trap. (And yes, I played a dwarven rogue for 7 levels in AD&D. Crappy shadow/stealth rolls, but man, did I pick a lock!)
6. Re: WWYCD: Fundamentalist against non-tech supers. Queen of Spades would roll her eyes behind her darkened visor, think "Jack Thompson all over again", and hunts up some people who owe her a few Favors. She's well aware of the nature of the City of Shadows, and while she doesn't like it, she knows well enough to leave it alone long enough to do the job. A ranting nutcase with a silver tongue always has something to hide... In the meantime, those followers are still breaking the law in the name of "purity." She's not gonna go easy on them...
7. Re: WWYCD: The rest of the world's Supers just changed sex. Queen of Spades: "Wait, you're saying that I'm supposed to be the King of Spades? Now I know something's wrong." Then she'll start looking into her "other" self's life and figure out how the hell did this happen? (On the other hand, things will be interesting for her now.)
8. Re: WWYCD: Snakes on the Plane! Awww, Powerhouse stole my joke. Samuel L. Jackson, for the win! (Not to mention it's a really cheesy flick.) Queen of Spades, in her Secret ID, is just gonna stay cool and not panic. She knows snakes well enough to not disturb them, and hopefully half the passengers are native Floridians as well. You live in a state where water moccasins, pygmy timber rattlers, and coral snakes live, you quickly get to know what not to do in this situation. There isn't much she can do without causing problems to the plane itself, and hope the pilot's compartment is sealed up tightly...
9. Re: What I learned playing a cleric People will keep looking at you as a source of healing. Fine, but make sure that it isn't the only thing you offer to the party!
10. Re: What I learned playing a fighter... Brave Fencer Musashiden, RPGDreamer.com Samurai Legend Musashiden, offical Squarenix site (For the record, I'd love to play with the art style in Samurai Legend... )
11. Re: What I learned playing a fighter... Don't make me put up cross-dressing photos of him... Besides, you haven't played Brave Fencer Musashiden or Samurai Legend Musahi, have you? Ive got a bare-bones FH heroine with a fairly improbable sword herself...
12. Re: What I learned playing a fighter... It's not the size of the sword that counts, but what you do with it that matters. (Associated: Don't laugh at the ones who use the wierdest weapons. They just may save your bacon at some future point in time. )
13. Re: So the King is a Vampire I'm more fond of an interesting take for vampires--the concept that they have a portion of their soul riven from them (aside from the curse of vampirism inflicted on the original Elders and passed down from childer to childer.) these missing peices correspond to something that drives them still--wether from the act of nilhlism, loss of the concept of love, to simply needing to eat a pound of flesh every week. They were called "Lacunas", and each is associated with a dark deity. (Apparently, the Elders were trying to unlock the prison that holds Mirimoggin, Lord of Hunger, the Dark Prime of Cannibalism. The other Dark Primes stopped them, but not before their "judge" inflicted the Lacunas on them and Mirimoggin managed to instill them with a portion of his divinity.)
14. Re: What I learned playing a blaster! Take the time to think about close-range opponents--you'd be supprised how much often someone manages to slip inside your range. Especially against speedsters.
15. Re: The thing's I've learned playing a Brick... That works if you can handle the expenses and migate the damage from the fall...
16. Re: Steve's Chat Tonight (Thursday, April 27) But I heard that Jason brought his with the Armor Piercing Adavntage.
17. Re: Steve's Chat Tonight (Thursday, April 27) But then Jason would be throwing badgers at you for doing so!
18. Re: So the King is a Vampire Only in the sense of not eating your prey. You can train them to be comfortable around you, even doing the whole jesse and strap business. Now, if it were bondbird owls... and since it's a magical world, why not a basterdized form of it?
19. Re: Steve's Chat Tonight (Thursday, April 27) And not make any rude comments about the superhero Badger himself...
20. Re: Need help with a name. Segue comes to mind... she's capable of moving one's state from another--from the forensic side, she's seen death and worked to resolve the "state" of mind to pass whomever on with questions answered. On the Heroic side, she's improving one's "state" of body.
21. Re: Steampunk Toys ...and we're left to clean it up. Seriously, couldn't you just chuck it to my Tauren instead?
22. Re: Geas, Oath, Contract...... Well, theoretically, it would be a Useable On Others spell, with the Trigger Limitation.
23. Re: Asian Bestiary II It's coming, Susano... especially since I now have my hands on my own copy of ABII. I intend to do it together, once I sit down and give both a good read-through, and once more for extra emphasis.
24. Re: WWYCD: If there was a unified WWYCD thread? *coughcoughs* This is the primary reason I'm looking forward to spending time with my pHp/MySQL book to build the WWYCD? Archive...
