  1. Re: Is Power Girl/Kara Starr the DCUs Gladiator? In the pre-crisis Legion timeline didn't they retcon Dev-Em (formerly a Kryptonian released from the Phantom zone) into a titanian who gave himself Kryptonian powers by wanting them really, really, bad? Theoretically, Power Girl could have the same power source, if not actual origin.

  4. Re: Alien Invasion If you haven't started the plotline yet, you may want to consider the Magician series of books by Ray Feist. They centered around a magic based interdimensional invasion. Essentially by humans from an Asian type culture.
  5. Re: Monsters, Minions, and Marauders: Opinions? It is definitely worth the money. It has a good variety of creatures, good art, and some good ideas for the critters use. I don't have the beastiary, so I can't compare it to that, but I found MM&M to be useful.
  6. Re: DC's turn toward the dark And this stuff is why I have stopped collecting comics. Very recently.
  7. Re: Evil Corporations We just use Wal-Mart.
  8. Re: Teen Titans GO! for review I'm not sure about the swingline being in the multipower. Hasn't he thrown the smoke bombs and such while swinging?
  9. Re: Is Power Girl/Kara Starr the DCUs Gladiator? Definitive, right. Until the next retcon or reboot. Or the next editor that doesn't read this miniseries.
  10. Re: How Do the Friction Manipulation Entangles Work? The Pseudo-science is reducing the coefficient of friction to near 0. one way to exploit the vulnerability of this entangle would be to have flight. If your character can fly, it shouldn't have any effect on them.
  11. Re: Cell phones don't work underwater... If you want the full communication effect, I really think that the Mind Link power above, is the best bet, and I think that only the contributing character (i.e. the brick) would need to pay the cost.
  12. Re: The Last Word The last word that I can think of is 'Zygote'. Alphabetically, anyway.
  13. Re: DC's turn toward the dark Actually Black wasn't trying to take over Vera. She was just nuts.
  14. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Right now? An annoying project manager.
  15. Re: Creating a bomb expert. 1.) Energy Blast, Explosive/Area Effect, Delay, Indirect, Expendable Focus. Possibly Charges. 2.) Teleport, Extra Time (Incantations).
  16. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... I just finished 'Going Postal' by Terry Pratchett. Pratchett writes satirical fantasy and this book, while not one of his best, was still an excellent read. He is one of the few fantasy writers that can take an extremely detailed fantasy world and make it 'just background'. This lets the storytelling come through without being overwhelmed by the setting.
  17. Re: Best way to Build Cap's Shield? I know I'm late, but what the heck. Technically, if he gets the same sheild back, if it was bought with the Independent limitation, he doesn't have to pay points. Independent, as typically used is for items created by the character and is IMHO not normally appropriate for Super Heroic campaigns.
  18. Re: Aahz A truly sick way to do it would be to create a perk that gives access to spellcasting. Make it a 10 to 15 point perk/talent, and then give each spell a 1/4 limitation that you have to have the perk/talent to cast it. Then spend a boatload of points on spells that he doesn't have the prerequisite to cast.
  19. Re: Ten Best Superhero Martial Arts Going back to the initial list, Boxing is probably a must have for a 'Batmanesque' street vigilante. I remember reading an article, I think in Newsweek or some other kind of news mag, talking about the martial arts. The writer was actually at the ShaoLin monastery in China and noticed one of the monks shadowboxing. When the writer asked the monk about it, he was told that boxing was the art that would get someone to the point of being able to defend themselves the most rapidly. I figure that any street fighter, going into the profession deliberately, would learn boxing because it would be the most rapidly useful.
  20. Re: Design Help Needed - How to BUild The LOSV's NEMESIS KID?
  21. Re: Alternative Religions in Champions Campaigns Lucifer has is own series on DC's Vertigo line.
  22. Re: Early "What do you want to see?" for Teen Champions Actually it had stats for Champions, Superworld, and V&V.
  23. Re: AVENGERS DISASSEMBLED opinions If she lets her children find out who she is, they will die, according to Brian Braddock the last Capt. Britain. Of course, if you look at the medical charts in the last issue, her real name, supposedly unknown to any of the Avengers, was on it. So I guess her kids are going to die horribly.
  24. Re: Anyone done a Riftwars Hero But in the first book they also talk about magicians needing to use a focus for most of their powers and how Pug should have died from casting a certian spell without the focus to channel it through. That doesn't sound like psionics to me.
