  1. The first Superman cosplayer--or something more?
  2. I was thinking he was the horse version of Chris Hemsworth, myself.
  3. Don't think this has been posted yet--apologies if it has. The Puzzling Vilification Of Hillary
  4. Least cute Lego figure ever--
  5. The official site at CBS A video is available with a glimpse of the new ship design--it owes a debt to Ralph McQuarrie's design for the proposed sequel series back in the Seventies, except the delta-shaped secondary hull doesn't overwhelm the primary saucer hull the way it did in McQuarrie's art. I like the name Discovery. Perhaps we can have her sister ships named Challenger, Endeavour, Columbia and Atlantis. That would be a welcome tribute, I think. I will boldly go with this show. You don't have to join me, but it would be nice if you did.
  6. Ideally, if this movie were to continue the "Death Of Superman" storyline, they (the producers) should bring in John Henry Irons, aka Steel. Give him the armor, the cape, the "S" emblem, the hammer--the whole thing. I'm thinking that the guy who plays James Olsen on Supergirl would be perfect for the part. Not too crazy about the scene with Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen. Looked too much like the scene with Tony Stark and Peter Parker in Civil War. Couldn't they have a scene where Batman meets The Flash in costume and asks him to join the alliance of heroes he's forming?
  7. I did notice the Fokker E III, and I was wondering about the uniform myself. Is Trevor supposed to be disguised in a German uniform, or is he supposed to actually be German?
  8. Chris Ladd, aka GOPLifer, resigns from the Republican Party
  9. Would anyone recognize another Lincoln if that person appeared today? "Confederates called Lincoln a "tyrant," a "fiend," and a "monster" for making war on civilians through the blockade, for authorizing the destruction of private property, for setting the likes of Ben Butler and William T. Sherman upon the Southern population, for suppressing civil liberties, for cruelly refusing to exchange prisoners, and, most of all, for emancipation, which they viewed as an incitement of slaves to rebellion and wholesale murder. In speeches, sermons, and songs, in books, magazines, newspapers, pamphlets, and broadsides, they also portrayed him as a simpleton, a buffoon, a drunkard, a libertine, a physical coward, and a pornographic story-teller." The Anti-Lincoln Tradition
  10. According to Google Maps, the university is 4.7 miles away. Anywhere from 18 to 32 minutes by car, depending on the route and the breaks. So, no, not quite in the same area.
  11. Apparently this was a real thing. Whether they were valid precautions given the possibility of violence or, as has been suggested, a fearful reaction to the possibility of differing opinions, is left to you. Case Western Reserve University Changes To Campus Operations During RNC
  12. I'm thinking Kid Champion, given to him by the team's leader in an attempt to boost his confidence-- "And this is the heart of the Sentinels--Kid Champion!" Hope that helps.
  13. This may have been posted already, but given the turn the discussion has taken, I believe it is relevant-- Dan Savage On Jill Stein--but it could apply to any third party as well.
  14. Pence Called Out On Twitter For Dining At Chili's There are plenty reasons to disagree with Pence, but where he goes for dinner--does that have to be one of them? Seriously? I've only eaten at Chili's once, but I liked it, and while it wouldn't be my first choice, I wouldn't shun it entirely either.
  15. Are there "red" and "blue" elevators as well? It would make more sense in that context. I remember a comedy sketch many years ago, where a black man had been hired to work at an office in Alabama, the first black person to work in that office. He's feeling very pleased with himself--and then he turns a corner and sees two signs--"WHITE ONLY" and "COLORED ONLY." He stares at the signs with mounting disbelief and apprehension, and then a woman brushes past him and drops an armload of scrap paper into one of two plastic bins. The man's apprehension drops as he realizes the signs refer to white and colored paper being separated--or perhaps, segregated--for recycling purposes. Of course, there are plenty of other colors the RNC could use to designate elevators. They could, in fact, use every color in the rainbow-- "See? We know how to be inclusive! We're using rainbows, just like all the gay people like! We're being inclusive and friendly!" And I am Marie of Romania.
  16. I stand corrected. Thank You.
  17. Perhaps she can fly on her own--she has been known to in the past. Does anyone know if Steve Trevor is in the Army Air Corps in this movie? We may not have the invisible jet, but I'd settle for Steve in the cockpit of a Spad XIII.
  18. From the comic book adventures of Neutron, The Atomic Superman-- I've heard of starting out young, but--sheesh!
  19. Unretired: Evan Bayh To Run For Indiana US Senate Seat
  20. I may have said this before, but I'll say it here--they're trunks, not underwear-on-the-outside. Trunks. Look at Superman--when did you ever see underwear with belt loops. Those are trunks, okay? As you may have guessed, I'm with massey--I prefer the classic tights look. Nothing against more modern designs--I especially liked the armors they came up with for the Big Hero 6 movie, and for Michael Keaton as Batnan. But as someone with fond memories of George Reeves and Christopher Reeve as Superman and Adam West as Batman, I got to give it to the tights. Capes, too.
