  1. Re: Need help with Sikh and Gurkhas Ok, I am thinking of maybe changing her to a female Sikh warrior as the Sikhs are supposed believe in sexual equality. I originally had her as being hunted by an assassins guild and having to stay on the run because of that. She was a member of that particular guild but refused to kill a target issued to her. She has been on the run and ran into another PC who is a circus animal trainer and got a job as a knife thrower (the last knife thrower was fired when he started drinking before a performance). She has a grandmother who is a DNPC whom she has to protect from the guild. Unfortunately I wasn't sure if this was an appropraite origin for a Pulp Hero so we tried something else. The next background we had was that Vijay (that's her name), was the only daughter of a rather famous and incorruptable Gurkha. She of course couldn't be a Gurkha so I thought that she would study in private. Then as she grew older she would discover that she had mystical powers such as the power to cloud mens minds. Her Father and Mother were killed by an underworld empire that wanted to send a message. The other Gurkhas couldn't find the assassins but Vijay, with her special powers was able and took vengence on them. One got away and now she and her only surviving relative, her grandmother is still alive. They are on the run from the assassins. As it is however, my wife doesn't want to play a Hindu so I am thinking that a Sikh sounds like a better arrangement. What do you guys think?

    Pulparize It!

Re: Pulparize It! Hero at Large Steve Nichols is a poor struggling actor trying to eke out a living in Depression era New York. He gets job promoting a new movie serial charcter called the Dark Phantom. While in his costume he foils a robbery at the corner grocery store and it makes radio news. Soon everyone is talking about the real life pulp hero and waiting to hear what he does next. And in the offices the Mayor's city council a certain opportunistic PR Man is also interested.
  3. Hi, My wife is playing a Pulp Heroine who is from India. We originally had armed the some Kukri and after researching it found that that is traditional weapon of the Gurkhas on India. No problem. Only thing is she doesn't want to Hindu but instead she wishes to be Sikh because she likes the religion and after reading about the religion I can see why. However she still wants to be this Kukri slinging avenger of evil. So my question is could it be possible for a Sikh woman to become a Gurkha? Or is that too much suspension of disbelief?

  11. Re: Teen Champions PCs vs Minuteman. Maybe the anti-mutant people that they run into, whether it be Genocide or IHA (I personally prefer the latter) are just a small chapter of the organization and they simply don't have the really expensive state of the art stuff available. They may only have later models to work with instead of the really scary stuff. Then as the heroes because a greater threat, higher-ups within the organization will start noticing them and when they have the appropriate experience they will then be able to take on the big guns.

    The Five

    Re: The Five PAIN!
  16. Hi, You know I was looking through Terran Empire and Alien Wars and I noticed that when you compare the two that the aliens in one book don't appear in the other one. You see Thorgons, Persieds, and of course Xenovores, but in Terran Empire there are no Denebians, Hrac'darese, Jhinu, Rigellians or Vayathurans. What happened to them? Now I know that both books had different authors so maybe that was the problem, still I wondering if this will ever be resolved or if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with this.
  17. Re: Xenovores *Possible Spoilers* I am running an Alien Wars game myself and although I am having some fun with it I admit that I was somewhat disappointed with the rather backhanded way that the Xenovores were treated. It seemed that Mr. Thomas was more interested in describing UE universe and just left most Xenovore info to the GM to deal with. I would have liked to have seem actual character sheets of Xenovore monsters and different alien warriors.
  18. Re: Black Scorpion, version 2.0 Is her car black and does she have enormous boobs like the other Black Scorpion?
  19. Re: Different Militaries working together; Alien Wars Ok. Denebian Pilot, in the UE Navy. UE Marine Sniper UE Army Machine Gunner UE Army Special Forces Demolitions expert. I can see a need for a combat medic, and maybe a close quarters kind of person.
  20. Re: If You Had To Play a Marvel Character… First choice: The Incredible Hulk. Particularly the way he is done now but also back in his salad days as well. In fact I could probably have fun with all of his incarnation except for the Dr. Banner/Hulk. I could probably have the most fun playing Joe Fixit. Always had a soft spot for the Grey Hulk. Wolverine. But when he was much cooler and although very tough definitely not indestructable. The run on Wolverine when Buscema was doing the comic and he was in Madripoor playing Patch was some good storytelling. Logan is actually a good character when he is being done right. Annoying when he is done wrong. The Silver Surfer. If I ever wanted to play a cosmically powered hero Norrin Radd is the MAN. Unfortunately in a RPG he would be very unbalancing. The Punisher. I know, I know no one on these board like him. But I would like to play the Welcome Back, Frank Punisher because sometimes it is fun for me to just play someone who just blows away criminals.
  21. Hi, I just started an Alien Wars game and I have some characters from different services. One is a UENavy offcier, and two are Army and one is Marine. One of my potential players had some problems with that because normally different services don't work together. So could someone give me an idea about how soldiers from different armed services could get together on a mission?

He thinks of himself as being a genius and therefore has a powerful arrogance as a result. Despite the fact that he is always being outsmarted and has his many ideas blow up in his face he still carries on regardless. He also suffers from a huge never ending appetite for 'vittles' which he can eat by the truckload. Quote:[Jed and Jehtro are discussing a "fast" girl back in the hills] Uncle Jed, she handed me a big old sugar cookie, looked at me and said, "Jehtro, if you had a choice between that cookie and me, which one would you take". Uncle Jed, that's when I found out just how fast she was! [Jed leans in close to hear the rest of the story] I had to run nearly a mile to get away from her with that cookie! Background: Jethro Bodine is Cousin/Aunt Pearls own son. He has a sister named Jethrene and is cousins with Ellie Mae. He calls Jed, Uncle Jed and tends to look up to him as a father figure. He left with the Clampetts to Beverly Hills when his mother Pearl Bodine lent her truck to help the Clampetts move. She said that they could keep the truck as long as they kept Jethro (this was also a way for Pearl to find a way to get herself invited to visit). Since arriving in California Jethro has involved himself in various professions. He has been a movie director /producer/ actor, knight, superspy, and various other things. These professions are never successful ventures and never last long. Powers/Tactics: Jethro is a big strong galoot. He can wrassle pretty good as well but not as well as Ellie Mae. He is second only to Uncle Jed and Granny when it comes to shooting. Campaign Use:

He prefers to spend his time sitting in front of his mansion widdling with his hound dog and maybe going fishing. His main concern is keeping the family together and getting his daughter Ellie Mae to be more ladylike and married off to a feller. He has no real desire to get married himself unless it's to help out his daughter by getting her a mother. He actually tends to get somewhat flustered when women persue him. Quote:"Well, doggy!" Background: Jedidiah Clampett (called Jed by nearly everyone but his daughter who calls her Pa), was as the song said, a poor mountaineer, who barely kept his family fed. He lived in the Ozarks in a town called Bugtussle with his mother-in-law Daisy Mae Moses and his daughter Ellie Mae. He was a widower although we never actually find out how she died. One day his life changed when he went hunting for rabbit and missed his shot causing oil to gush out of the ground. Once that happened Jed was persuaded by her cousing Pearl to go to Caifornia to live in Beverly Hills. He then deposited his millions after the OK Oil Company gave him a ton of money for the land. Powers/Tactics: Jed is a born and bred mountain man and is therefore a hardy breed of man. He is very skilled in living off the land and is an incredible shot with a rifle. He of course does not start any fight and prefers to reason with most people. It is assumed that he would fight to protect his family and particulary Ellie Mae. Campaign Use:
