  2. Re: Does anyone really roll 30D6? I keep on in my dice collection for just suck an occasion with such a foolish GM who could be talked into things. It's there for the joke most of the time.
  3. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Zombie Me - No More Kings Now I slide down the street with no shoes on my feet looking for brains to eat I'm a Zombie - Me! Part of halloween mix I made.
  4. Re: Does anyone really roll 30D6? Absolutely. I have a character who's standard attack is 20d6, and can do up to 26. I always roll all the dice. Easy to count - Pair for 10s (i.e. a 6 and a 4, a 5 a 2 and a 3 ect) for stun. Count ones, count sixes, subtract ones from sixes, add that to the dice rolled for body. Quick and easy.
  5. Re: closed beta applications Put mine in. I've never played an MMO before, so if I get in, it will be a new experience for me.
  6. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Paradigm Shift - Liquid Tension Experiment
  7. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Zeromus - Black Mages from Pandora (trying out a station my wife made).
  8. Re: How Much Experience? Our group awards XP at the end of an adventure (usually) but the XP awards usually come out to about 3 a session - so at the end of a 5 session adventure everyone gets around 15. When I GM I award a flat amount to the group - but when someone does something especially cool, really in character, comes up with a great idea or whatnot, I award a quarter or half XP on the spot. That lets the players know the kind of things I award extra for. When someone has enough they get their one XP. I try and hand out those to everyone for different things though.
  9. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Stop! - Against Me! I'm listening to a mix of songs that is the songs from both Rock Band Games plus all the stuff I've bought as DLC for them.
  10. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine A way to answer that question (in general, as the specifics seem moot at this point) is to be found here: http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
  11. Re: Order of the Stick That has to be one of my favorite moments in the series.
  12. Re: Order of the Stick Yeah. This one is up there with the one you quote for emotional content. Great great stuff. And so sad.
  13. Re: Book of the Destroyer: Destroyer v. Takofanes
  14. Re: Book of the Destroyer: Destroyer v. Takofanes When one of the guys in the game group got the book, he read that section to us ... and as most of the group at least lurk here, most everyone got a laugh. There were a lot of great little touches like that in the book. It has become one of my favorites.
  15. Re: The Book Of The Destroyer To me that was just class - respecting what came before. And using that artwork too. So Kudos to you Steve.
  16. Re: Cheese factor Also all of the powers have Gestures and Incantations - Once the brick grabs him (or he gets entangled - agents with net guns are good here) - he can't cast his spells.
  17. Re: Cheese factor The magic missile is a little rough, but all personal FF are 360 energy - so once some high end agents attack with a 4/4 force field belt, and he can't hit any of them. FF is a pretty common defense in a superhero game. The Haste has one big problem - They are usable by other simulatneos, so they have to touch to start it, but must maintain line of sight, however thing like Levels or ES in power frameworks are in GM's option territory, they are not book legal (if that is something you are concerned with). And he bought it as +2 Speed, that should really be an Aid, which is much more expensive.
  18. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... Yeah. It was the weakest. But still fun.
  19. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... The Bahzell books are for me, but I never got into Honor.
  20. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... This one is a huge feature for me (rather than a bug) - it's, if you will pardon the gaming metaphor, seeing Harry level up. He gets new and better spells, and creates niftier items. The threat is moving from human, to Fae, to dealing with the Fallen and Arch angels. That is something that I love about the series - in fiction we so rarely get a character who really, clearly, gets much more powerful during the course of a series that it is really refreshing to see. I can see a little bit to your other point - and I love the Fury books as well.
  21. Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it... I love the series. I find that books 3 and 4 get a little depressing, and then really perk up at book 5, then really take off. In my opinion each book after 4 was better than the last. I just finished reading Evil Genius and Genius Squad Catherine Jinks - while not exactly SF or Fantasy it has elements of both Pulp and Superheroes in it (in a way). Main character is a super-genius with systems, and has a supervillian for a father. Semi adolescent (about on par with the later Harry Potter really). Very good.
  22. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Short Skirt, Long Jacket - Cake. Well sorta, I got Chuck season one pre-street, and that is the theme.
  23. Re: The Book Of The Destroyer Finally got the book. Aside from the great content I loved the legacy stuff. The early destroyer had the Mark Williams artwork, and the writeup was fairly close to that version. Same with the mid Destroyer, using Zircher's artwork, and being close to that write up.
