Saw Ant-Man, enjoyed it. 

Pope Francis decided to take a trip to the United States. Once he got there, the archbishop of New York had a limousine waiting for him. While they were driving, Francis struck up a conversation with the driver. "My son, are you Catholic?"
 
"Yes, your Holiness. The cardinal wouldn't have sent me otherwise."
 
"Good, good." They chatted for several miles, and then Francis looked at the clock on the car dash. "My son, we are running late. Can you speed up?"
 
"Oh, your Holiness, I'm on probation already. If I get caught speeding again, I'll lose my license and my job!"
 
Francis sat back. "We certainly can't have that. Let me drive."
 
The driver was stunned but acquiesced. The Pope put the petal to the metal and roared down the road. Sure enough, they were stopped by a police officer a few miles down the road.
 
The cop walked up to the car and tapped on the window. "License and registr..." He stopped as soon as he saw Francis in the driver's seat. "Okay, just drive on, but be careful."
 
Back in the police car, the officer's partner asked, "Why'd you let him go?"
 
"He was important."
 
"The governor?"
 
"Higher. And think religion."
 
"The President?"
 
"Higher."
 
"Billie Graham?"
 
"No. Honestly, I don't know who he was, but he must be important because the Pope's his chauffeur!"

Red Heat. Arnold as a Russian cop. Jim Belushi is his partner. There is a low bodycount by Arnie movie standards. Still works.

I was really surprised how good that book was. As a child of an alcoholic, and one who actually broke the chain, this really rung true. The shining I read as a kid (9 or 10) and really really identified with Danny. I was very trepidations about this - but it was fantastic. Not quite It or The Stand good, but just half a step down like Rose Madder.

Inspired my Rock Band 3 band name "Warp 10 Catfish"

I can't wait for The Aeronaut's Windlass.

His placement in the show made it feel like Supergirl was the spinoff of a successful Superman Show, and he was the cast member that fans really liked, so he moved to Supergirl. I just got that kind of vibe*

I won't drop spoilers, but that is possible the best season finale I have ever seen; and one of the best hours of superhero television ever filmed. It felt like it came straight out of the comics. Tied up many plotlines, and dropped stuff to be followed up on in future seasons.
 
For the time travel - cross dimensional and cliched time travel is part and parcel of comics. It just made it feel all the more like it was lifted straight from the comic pages.
 
How I feel having seen this - the joy, the emotions, the sheer "Wait what?" that is generated - that is what I wanted from Age of Ultron and didn't get. I don't care about DC Movies anymore, the TV is where it is at.
 
 
 

My favorite thing was after that. When Zoom saw the helmet and just said "It's time for me to go."

On the bright side, all of the arguing about the costume and the trailer means that people aren't apathetic about the series. Hopefully, that translates into an audience when the show does arrive.

Also, I would add, that I find reality TV way sillier than anything Jack Kirby, Gardner Fox, or Otto Binder ever wrote.

Flash is dark and gritty like brown sugar is dark and gritty.  Mostly, it's just sweet.

I just watched the trailer.

I want to see the show.

Just finished Second Stage Lensmen, and started on Children of the Lens. I do love my classic SF, but I had never been able to get my hands on these until they became available digitally. I've been very impressed - yes they are a product of their time, but has been great to read.

No no, if we have a British Dr. Strange,then clearly is finally time for an American Dr. Who...
or even James Bond!

I'm with Lord Mhoran and Hermit--I like that her mad hacking skillz are just that: mad skillz. Not the result of some superhuman talent. (Not that I don't object to the 21st century equivalent of "A wizard did it" as the result of hacking efforts...but Agents of Shield is hardly alone in treating hacking like 21st century magic.)

The episode before the reveal had a hint for those who were aware. The song "bicycle built for two" was played through the dream montage. Anyone will remember that the lyrics start: daisy, daisy, give me your answer too.."

I actually like it the way we got. She's a super hacker because she has Mad Skillz, the powers.. .eh they're just extra.
