  1. Romo will retire before going to a non-contender.
  2. Okay Surrealone, answer these scenarios for me: Attacker A is about to Haymaker a punch when Target T is moved back 9" down a well-lit tunnel. What happens? Same scenario, but A is using Haymaker with a ranged attack? And final scenario, has A using Haymaker with a mental power? What are the modifiers that apply?
  3. Actually this year's combine rated DB, TE, RB and DE as exceptional classes. The LB, DT and WR were average. QB and OL were considered weak though.
  4. Surrealone, the text of Mind Scan says that it detects the target's precise location. Given that, I also support the contention that minds have a set point in space. Your Dive for Cover example seems to overlook the fact that the ranged character also misses if the target makes his roll. Again this doesn't seem to support your arguement. Feel free to houserule either,(I do for Dive for Cover) it won't break the game, Right now Haymaker is balanced for all characters. I can see some real world sense in your point of view but Game balance comes first.
  5. I'll give a simpler but sure to be less popular explanation for why it affects everything: game balance. Remember that Haymaker used to be a HTH exclusive for a 50% STR boost. It heavily favored martials but had a definite and long standing presence in genre. It made common and game sense for it to auto-miss if the target moved. Now it is +4 DC's to any attack power and the auto-miss has to be retained to keep it fair to martials.
  6. If someone has been held prisoner for the last 15 years by your arch-nemesis organization who have been shown to brainwash people, would you Give him a physical seeing as he arrived with obvious injuries? Attempt to scan his mind with your telepath? Look at his arm with your x-ray vision? Send him home to be with his family who haven't seen him for 15 years? or Let him have free run in your top secret base and ignore/argue down anyone who says "we might want to keep an eye on him"? I consider this final option epic in its stupidity. How did any of these people get to be government agents? But I am willing to listen to rebuttals.
  7. While this is still my favorite CW super show, this episode sets new milestones for stupid.
  8. Unfortunately, Namor is tied to the FF franchise and can't be used until something is worked out.
  9. As Hugh states above, the math works for Character Points not for Characteristic Value.
  10. Steve skipped a step in his explanation and it makes it unclear. Dsatow has a more complete explanation. He is still referring to Character Points in his example as the max is 24 CP of STUN and 8 CP of BODY. Before halving that would be 48 STUN and 8 BODY which halves to 24 STUN and 4 BODY.
  11. In that scenario, figuring out the Susceptibility would probably be the focus of the adventure(e.g., Signs, The Wizard of Oz). You'll have plenty at the climax of the scenario so you can conclude the story But water is a good if extreme example here. How often are you carrying a bottle of water on your person? Do you keep one in the bedroom or living room? Smart monsters cut the power all the time, turning off the water would be just as easy and a lot less noticeable. If you're that paranoid(sometimes warranted for a PC), you'll put it in your equipment pool so that you can control the availability. Otherwise you're at the mercy of the GM's environment.
  12. No, you have to pay points for the means to prevent him. Of course, if the GM sets up the adventure so that the PC's plan to stop Fishman's escape using tools, the environment, sweat, blood and tears works then its a plot point in problem solving. It doesn't cost points because that how the campaign set it up to happen. Generally, if you use your powers or abilities to stop Fishman, you've already paid the points. You're just applying them to the problem. If this is something that you want to have available all the time but rarely sees use then you pay points. Not many points though, because it's just a slot in your Multipower/VPP. In a heroic game you'd put it in your equipment pool because if you didn't, it's up to the GM to determine it's availability and you may not have as much as you need or want in that case.
  13. Normally, a character doesn't pay Points for materials that trigger Susceptibilities but normally those things are only available when the GM adds them to the scenario or allows them to be available with a small effort. If you want to have those materials on hand at all times you should pay for them. I would consider using points from an equipment pool fine as long as they are allocated before hand. Even Batman doesn't have a perfect load-out every time.
  14. OK, while I agree with Massey, I'll do it the hard way for ya. Step 1: Determine the highest damage this Susceptibility will have in the campaign. Step 2: Buy an attack equal to this damage. Step 3: Add the proper Limitations. I'd go with: Xd6 Blast - Limited Power(-2 only vs targets with Susceptibility), Limited Power(-1 may not exceed target's Susceptibility) Reduced by Range, OAF and Charges. Step 4: Add SFX fluff. This works for any Susceptibility triggered by touch. Add Area of Effect if triggered by proximity.
  15. Why are you guys all making this hard? Define the damage the holy water does to undead and whatever limits apply to it and then choose a type of focus for that power. The focus could be a water pistol or a crossbow or a shoulder launched missile but its only a SFX.
  16. I've had players use it in an Avatar like game and it worked pretty well. I've used it to represent heroes and villains who are very experienced with their powers and thus more effective. It sees more use in Martial Arts themes than anything else, IME, and still is used more for OCV/DCV than damage
  17. Once you ignore the the big plot blindspot, this was a good episode,
  18. Starts back tonight, unless Comcast is lying to me.
  19. Take a look at the Fuzion rules. You had additional Characteristic called Hit Points that were an intermediate between Stun and Body. You took 1 HP per 10(5?) STUN taken and if you ran out of HP, you took BODY. HP healed at REC per day.
  20. Actually they do . Negative more than twice your BODY is fatal with the sole exception of Suppress.
  21. Firestorm was through all the iterations before new 52. So were all the DC versions of Captain Atom.
